*A correction addresses a behavior or technique that shall be addressed immediately. Corrections typically involve safety or major optics concerns. Corrections could potentially result in a belayer being relieved and/or not advanced. Corrections are made at any time deemed appropriate by the HB.

An adjustment addresses a behavior or technique that should be addressed to benefit the belayer and is typically not a safety issue. Adjustments can improve performance optics or technique uniformity. Adjustments are best recommended between rounds of competition and may be implemented during an event.

A suggestion addresses a behavior or technique that would enhance a belayers nuanced performance over time. Suggestions--made between rounds, after an event, or in evaluation--are best practiced away from competition, as they may be subtle and require time and feedback to master.
