1. Overview of asset and status of closure planning?

The Ingex Grupo Minero company intends to mine for gold in Columbia utilizing an open pit mine strategy. Their closure plan is planned to start after 3 years of mining operations. In the post-closure phase of the cites operation, communities and municipal authorities will be informed 6 months in advance of closure. Residents of local towns and villages will not be allowed onto the site in concurrence with the monitoring of waste materials. Additional efforts will be made to ensure that communities dependent on economic stimulation provided by the mine will be allocated accommodations.

Based on the results of this tool, I would make sure to take measures to create plans and identify proxies for evaluating the effectiveness of the execution of mine closure and monitoring of the site. Next, I would aim to improve within the Social and economic transition to ensure the success of stakeholders and local communities during the closure phase of the mine. This will improve the engagement for the closure category and minimize threats imposed by a sudden closure. Finally, I would recommend that those planning this mine focus their efforts on integrating the LoA planning to ensure the criteria are met to adhere to the standards set by this tool to be a leading practice.
