Texas State freshman and transfer student application deadlines for Fall 2020 have been extended to Saturday, August 1, 2020. Texas State continues to offer Assured Scholarships, our largest scholarship opportunity, to qualified students through the start of classes on August 24, 2020.They look forward to hosting all incoming students for a New Student Orientation (NSO) session. If you haven’t already, sign up as soon as possible. Currently, on-campus sessions are planned for June and July, as scheduled. If you have been admitted to Texas State, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the NSO registration portal, including your unique login credentials. If you are unable to register online, please call the admissions office at 512.245.3655 (or email admissions@txstate.edu). University of HoustonAshley Bicknellajbickne@central.uh.eduExaminations such as TSI will be scheduled and administered remotely if feasible or postponed until possible to administer in person. This information can be found on the UH Testing Services page: http://ussc.uh.edu/uts.aspx.Test scores must be submitted officially. I cannot accept items via e-mail. However, I can send you an encrypted link with password, where you can upload score reports and transcripts for a student if this method is preferred. Those items received from a counselor will be counted as official and then are downloaded by our processing team.As of right now, students can upload an unofficial transcript or a fee waiver to their UH portal. However, I can send you an encrypted link with password, where you can upload score reports and transcripts for a student if this method is preferred. Those items received from a counselor will be counted as official and then are downloaded by our processing team.As of right now, orientation is still scheduled to be in-person for the summer. (April orientations have already moved online.) If the CDC or state recommends that this not occur, orientations will be shifted to online. There is a 150 dollar fee for orientation. If orientation shifts online, this fee may shift for students. At this time there are not fee waivers for orientation but students can request a deferment in advance. I would recommend contacting orientation@uh.edu for specific students with questions relating to this. Students will continue to register online: https://uh.edu/undergraduate-admissions/admitted/orientation/.Meningitis records are uploaded via the UH portalAs of right now, students can upload an unofficial transcript or a fee waiver to their UH portal. Regarding fee waivers, students can upload them to their UH portal. If they cannot sign the SAT or ACT waiver, we are understanding of this and will make exceptions. If they are uploading a NACAC waiver, if possible, it would be ideal to at least have a counselor signature if the student cannot sign. I may also be able to take fee waivers through the link and upload them myself if you have students that have no access to their UH portal whatsoever.Housing applications still have a 50 dollar fee, but the 300 dollar prepayment is refundable until May 1. However, many students who qualify for fee waivers will see that 300 automatically deferred until financial aid is released in the Fall.

Currently, TSI scores are required to be able to sign up for orientation though they only need reading/writing to be passed (they just need a student to have at least attempted math once). Students must still turn in their TSI scores using the TSI Score Report Request Form that is available on their website. The university testing center is still open and accepting appointments. Examity, the virtual proctoring service for the TSI, is offering a reduced price of test sessions through April 12, 2020, and admitted A&M-SA students can have their TSI fee waived. To get their fees waived, students must follow the instructions on the university testing center’s website, and should call (210) 784-1366 for more information or further assistance. $20 for admitted test. (If unable to pay fee, admitted students contact rep for assistance)Test scores can be submitted through college board, or directly to Jaime or admissions via email by the counselors as always, but students can now also submit their own copy of their test scores for admissions processing through their new dropbox link on the webpage. Calls and emails to the student have been made to inform them of these changes. The meningitis vaccination can be faxed to their campus at 361-593-2903. However, at this moment is not a requirement to complete their housing reservation or to meet with academic advisor and register for summer or fall classes. The students have 10 days before school starts to turn it their record. They accept a letter if the student is on free and reduce lunch letters as a form of waivers. If you know of a student who is going through a difficult economic hardship (many people have lost their jobs) then we can also use a COVID-19 impact letter. The letter must come from a school official and if possible on school letterhead. Please include the student full name.In University Reps Folder

Angelo State UniversityCandace Saldivarcandace.saldivar@angelo.eduThey will have opportunities for students to take the TSI before the semester starts the week of move-in. If they are unable to take the test, they will have to take the T-Course. Which this isn’t all bad, they will get course credit and will have an extra hour added to their class to do homework with their professor during class time.Transcripts can be submitted through Trex, Parchment, etc. as well as through our Submit Documents page. If submitted through the Submit Documents page, it will be considered unofficial but they can use unofficial transcripts to admit students until after they graduate. They can not accept them through email as it is not secure. There are no deadlines for applications or the Carr Scholarship. The Carr Scholarship is an automatic scholarship so if they receive a 21+ or 1060+ they will automatically receive that scholarship on top of any other outside scholarships. As of now they still plan on having our normal orientation during the June and July months. They have not given them any information on changing the structure of orientation but I am sure they are working on an alternate plan for our further students. You can see more about cost and registration here. I believe it is $40 per student and $20 for additional guests.Meningitis records can be sent through email at meningitis@angelo.edu, or uploaded through the Proof of Meningitis Submission form. They accept fee waiver through email, however the best way to submit them is through our Application Fee Waiver Form.
