Artist search

Select the blue cell in B2 and either start typing to search or use the drop-down to select an artist. Examples of Midjourney's output for that artist will show below, with information about the artist to the right of the images.

Attribute search

Browse the full list of artists here, or search and select any blue cell in column B to filter the list.

Raw data

Sort the data by art history rank or prompt rank to change the order in which artists appear, in that sheet and in the search sheets.

Art history rank
uses information from Wikipedia and Wikidata to order artists based on things like representation in museums to rank an artist's prominence.

Prompt rank uses information on the frequency an artist was invoked in prompts (as of October 2022) for works that appear on the Midjourney Community Feed.

Don't take either of these rankings too seriously. They are only meant to provide a more structured way to browse the list and help the most relevent results appear at the top of the list.

Submit v3 images

Artists that are missing image examples from Midjourney are listed in a sheet with a link to a form where you can submit images using instructions provided in the form. We will start adding v4 images when that version has been officially released.

Completing the form updates the reference sheet immediately.
6
Suggest an artist

First, search the Raw data sheet to see if an artist is listed there. To prevent duplicates and to help bring in additional data about an artist, check if they are listed on Wikidata. If the artist is not in Wikidata, you can probably add them. Wikidata's notability criteria is not strict. They allow any artist that "can be described using serious and publicly available references."
7
Use this form to request an artist be added to this document.
8
Add info about artists

To add attributes to artist records, find (or add) the artist on Wikidata and add the information there as statements about the artist. This document currently uses the artist's Wikidata label, description, occupation, movement, genre, has works in the collection, and Union List of Artist Names ID.
9
Submit feedback

For specific artists, there is a Report an issue link you can use.

For general feedback and feature requests,
