|Area/ Trail Length||Park area 31,346 ha.|
|Seasons to Visit||June through September-October, depending on snow|
|Habitat||Englemann spruce-subalpine fir, sub-boreal spruce and lodgepole pine forest, subalpine and alpine meadows and prairie.|
|Viewing Highlights||A network of moderate to strenuous alpine trails through forests, meadows and high ridges. Lyon Creek, Harvey Mountain and McCabe trails on the southwest side of the park are the most popular and easily accessed.|
Subalpine and alpine plants, birds and mammals. Mountain goat viewing can be very good.
Driftwood Canyon Provincial Park, near the Lyon Creek park entrance, is a significant site for fossil beds, with a short wheelchair accessible interpretive trail. Disturbing or removing fossils is prohibited.
|Other Features||Joe L'Orsa Cabin, on the Silver King Basin trail, is available to overnight backcountry users.|
|Main Access||Approximately 20 km northeast of Smithers via Old Babine Lake Road and Driftwood Creek Road.|
|Secondary Accesses||Several other trails enter the park from the north, south and east; trail and access road conditions vary.|
|Cautions||Watch for bears. Cougars are rare.|
These trails are mostly moderately strenuous to strenuous, and are in a remote and unpatrolled area; you need to be in good physical condition and be properly equipped with good hiking footwear, rain gear, food and water.
There is no mobile phone service in this area.
|Regulations||Camping and fires in designated sites. No bikes. Dogs on leash.|
|Facilities||Picnic tables and pit toilets at Driftwood Canyon. No other facilities. All services in Smithers.|
