Rachel HensonLocated film maker, senior developerOutshiftwww.rachelhenson.comWe make site specific outdoor experiences using platforms that immerse the viewer in a live environment.

http://www.blasttheory.co.uk/how-to-make-your-own-tools-2/
We want to develop platforms that alter or heighten our sensory perception of a live landscape to create an immersive narrative. We are developing a heads up mixed reality device in the form of an app and viewfinder that slots onto a mobile phone. We want to couple this visual platform with positional audio, recorded on site and carrying narrative information, which merges with live ambient sound. Other research interests include devices that express biofeedback in real time (through haptic or audio means) as a way of changing our perception of our bodies in a landscape to support narrative.YesAcademic PartnersHow the human multisensory system perceives and navigates unknown outdoor environments. Ways of altering or affecting alertness, presence, self-perception and embodiment in place to create narrative. How our life experience affects how we perceive the people, objects and topographies we encounter.
