Poncelet O. Ileleji is a computer Scientist by Profession with 18 years in the field, he has been involved with the use of ICT as a tool for sustainable development both as a lecturer, researcher and consultant for the Gambia YMCAs, where he is the coordinator of the computer training centre and digital studio. He has also served as consultant for several projects in Africa covering ICT for D, Learning, Technologies and Education, Internet Governance and Health Informatics. He served also as an International Coordinator for the International YMCA of New York, International Camp Counselor Program; He also represents Computer Frontiers Inc in the Gambia.

Poncelet served as the country coordinator for the World Links program in the Gambia during the program life cycle in The Gambia from 2001 to 2005, The program was funded and initiated by the World Bank and it adopted a constructivist approach to teaching with ICT that emphasized a shift away from teacher-centered lecture-based instruction towards student-centered, project-based learning during the program life cycle from 2001 to 2005 in the Gambia.

He Is a member of the British Computer Society, and also a fellow of Mirandanet (www.mirandanet.ac.uk) He is a founding member of the Information Technology Association of the Gambia and was elected president of the Association in March 2010 is term ended in April 2014 (www.itag.gm). He is also the national resource person for the West African Internet Governance Forum www.waigf.org the Gambian Chapter and former board member of Africa ICT alliance www.aficta.org and he is a member of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) NPOC Constituency www.npoc.org serving as 1st Vice Chair for Africa for the Program Committee and has contributed to various ICANN working groups, notably the meeting strategic working group , he is also an adviser to Ministry of Information Communication and Infrastructure on the Gambian membership of the Governmental Advisory Committee of ICANN. He was also among the African Experts called upon for the development of the ICANN African Strategy in February 2012;

I belief I will contribute to the work of Best Bits Steering Committee especially in its role and focus on Internet Governance, these contributions, I will make sure the voices and various dialogues that take place in my region of Africa its brought to forefront in Best Bits advocacy work in Africa. I will also contribute to the various global initiatives of Best Bits in terms of Internet Rights. As someone that have spent my entire professional career work for an organisation like the YMCA, I do know my volunteerism role will help me any capacity Best Bits feel I can be used for in their various advocacy work.

Electronic Frontier Foundation

Jeremy Malcolm is Senior Global Policy Analyst at Electronic Frontier Foundation, where he works on the international dimensions of issues such as intellectual property, network neutrality, Internet governance, and trade. Prior to that he worked for Consumers International coordinating its global programme Consumers in the Digital Age. Jeremy graduated with degrees in Law (with Honours) and Commerce in 1995 from Murdoch University, and completed his PhD thesis at the same University in 2008 on the topic of Internet governance. Jeremy's background is as an information technology and intellectual property lawyer and IT consultant. He is admitted to the bars of the Supreme Court of Western Australia (1995), High Court of Australia (1996) and Appellate Division of New York (2009). He is a former co-coordinator of the Civil Society Internet Governance Caucus and currently a Steering Committee member of the OECD Civil Society Information Society Advisory Council.

Having been with Best Bits since its conception, and since many of the incumbents will not be renominating, I would contribute continuity. I have also contributed most of the development to the online presence of Best Bits and that will continue. While wearing my Best Bits hat I have always been conscious of the need to balance my inclination to assert my views strongly with the demands of community building, and it has become clear that at this time more work needs to be done on the latter. So if re-elected I try to bring some closure to the rift that has developed within civil society Internet activists, negatively affecting Best Bits. I am working on a joint document about principles on meaningful stakeholder inclusion that I hope may help to heal this rift.
