12
WalkerXAn elemant of realism that makes the piece translate from the page to a persons imagination.Ender's GameI can pick up new writing techniques that I can start to implement into my writing.
13
NayeliXXDoneDoneVery good details and creative imagination able to make you feel intense fear and paranoia. We All Looked Up by Tommy WallachAny kindSeeign from other pieces how they use words and how they rearrange their writing may inspire new techiniqes of writing and new vocabulary that can help improve your writing.
14
AudreyXXIf it makes you look behind you at night becuse you can feel something watching you, it's good horror. Either that or it causes silent, horrified staring.Just creepiness in general, hopefullySiddhartha by Herman Hesse, To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee (my one true love), The Odessy by Homer, and The Pheonix Affirmations (I can't remember who it's by, but it's about analyzing Christanity and acknowledging whats truly important in the Christian faith)Anything that will help me learn and grow as a person. Anything I think that I can benefit from, whether it's bettering myself or simply taking time to enjoy something. I like analytical religous books, I like classics, I like books that're tough. I also like creepy stuff, Stephen King is pretty legit. You can pick up in different styles and techniques to use in your writing, as well as some new ideas or perspectives that youve never thought of using I might start reading more critically, looking at why authors use certain language or expressions
15
AkaylaXXDoneDoneI submitted both of the documents and yes I did. Was a good day of work.Needs to have a good visual, words to make my skin crawl, suspence, mystery, a good amount of horrifing things,I can pick up new ideas and get to view different writing styles.
16
ParkerXXDoneDoneNothingPlot twists, suspense, at LEAST one murder.Nothing. I am about to start A Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare for my 2nd quarter AP book for English.I love reading poetry, so novels written entirely in poetry interests me.When a writer reads other writer's works, (s)he learns different ways to express themselves through writing, new and interesting styles of writing, cool and different ways to write, etc.In the future, I will read with an eye for interesting words and phrases and different ways I can present my writing.
17
PatrickXXdonedoneUse of atmosphere and unpredictability to create tension.Something relatively new Cthulu Mythos by LovecraftHorror/ HumorFind ways of establishing theme and atmosphere through characters and plotreading more analytically and taking notes rather than purely for enjoyment
18
AllysonXXBlood Gore and MurderSuspense and mystery. I learn about some things to help me with my writing
19
AprilXXAlmost doneNot close to donei got my bus line done and almost got my writers eye doneblood and gore and knives and mysteryBeneath a meth moonHorror/Mystery/humorI get ideas for my stories from most of my booksI would have a notebook right beside me or take notes in the book

BenXXSlowly building tension with terrifying reveals and a good monsterSurprise the reader (possibly with a twist ending) and use tension to really creep the reader outMurder in the Cathedral by T.S. EliotCrime Novels, Fantasy, and Sci-FiI usually pick up a sense of style, wording, etc. that I might try and use in my own writing. Vocabulary, especially, is something that I like to watch out for a lot,I'd like to pay more attention to symbols and context in future writing. In Raymond Carver's 'A Serious Talk,' especially, there were a number of important symbols that I picked up on more through our discussion. As I read in the future, I think paying attention to things such as the ashtray or the phone can help me understand the work better as a whole.
