PURPOSE: Tests confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear steady rhythm, accepting light contact with the bit. The horse demonstrates greater understanding of the aids and calm acceptance of the bridle; greater emphasis is placed on relaxation, harmony, rideability and pure gaits. The horse is beginning to develop more impulsion and balance.RIDER #7975

Work to develop greater give in jaw/poll to develop a more supple topline with a following arms. Talented pair just need to work on the basics.

Lovely horse with much potential but the bracing in the topline affects the performance. Try sitting on your seat bones for a more elastice following seat and arms.
At the B-E turns practice a 10m circle at B then go straight and then to a 10m at E. Think of the turns as a 1/4 of a 10m circle. When doing a downward transistion from jog to walk
think of it as doing 3 little 1/2 halts. Close your fingers (1 second),soften, 2nd time close your fingers (1 second) then soften third time close your fingers and tighen your abs with a light leg on for a balanced forward walk.

Ride a 20m circle in sitting jog and practice moving your right arm then your left like a piston so you are always softening on the circle. Next on the circle ride a 10m circle at one place of the circle with contact and then go back to moving your elbows like a piston on the rest of the circle.
