How do you think this newly formed cohort can help you with your efforts with customized learning?

Regular sharing of members in cohort at scheduled meetings - once or twice a year. Sharing of tools and resources. Each school may have their "stars" to share information with others - flipped classroom, blended learning. School board members - Where do we find information? Could we have a clearinghouse of information, so they could access information and resources in one place. Samples of different school size would be valuable. Fieldbook started us thinking about model; now where are the models being integrated. Need resources for different levels of knowledge and interest of mass customization of learning.

It can help provide resources or where to go & how to get started. Provide mulitple options & experience in scheduleing. Work together to create a multilpy tiered curriculum w/ pre-assessments that teachers can use when implementing the new customized learning w/in school districts. Discuss staff management. Learn ideas on how to be a faciliator in learning. Discuss grading & eligability options. Interacting w/ DDN constraints. Share experiences w/ own experiences & the share curriculum programs that some schools are using. Share what schools are using MCL so that we can share information & provide mentoring & support.

Place to go for electronic resources. Helps with divide and conquer. Sharng what works / doesn't, avoid this. Common vocabulary develops. Guides for helping parents.

It would be great to be able to check in with other schools about our successes and struggles. We like to hear about schools that are similar to us and some that are different. Need for an organizational system. A listserve where we could throw questions out. Collaboration on curriculum. Technology that would support customization. Definitely would like to see more OER.

This cohort will provide resources and connections. It will also give support with feedback negativley or positive outcomes. This is a group that all agrees that is great for education.

Give us ideas on what it looks like. Nice to have some people who are at the same place I am, which is Step 1 along with people who have been there and done it to look to for help. Everyone together is better than just me. Research on your own is great, but having someone to talk things out with is helpful. For a lot of smaller districts one person is the "department" and it is nice to have other people to reach out to for ideas. It is helpful to have other people coming up with ideas for curriculum to make it easier to differentiate for both learning styles and ability levels.
