This show has a lot to do with the things we can learn from each other by accepting our differences. Feels right.

I'd love to see the entire Addams Family be Deaf. Then Wednesday and her bf could be a Hearing Deaf dynamic

It's doable but the show already has layers that relate to marginalization. It might be too much to have a Deaf cast. A Deaf character could work though. I'm not sure who.

This is a revue of Black American music. You could make it into an ASL cabaret but it would probably feel disinteresting since there's not really a reason.

Because Amelie is characterized by self isolation and lack of belonging, but never does a good job at explaining why. (I feel like she's neurodivergently coded). I think making her Deaf could give her more understandability as a character and may give more depth to the song Halfway.

I think this version of Amelie would be much more effective since it's more visual. However, it couldn't have the actors playing instruments.

I worry about a cereal killer story being told with a Deaf person as the killer or the victims. Josh?

This is such a movement heavy story, if we could find a ballet dancer who's Deaf and could play the french girl or american dude or both, this could be gorge.

This is one of the best Deaf narrative options. I think Anastasia has a lot of room to be a lot of different kinds of people. Plus, I like the idea of a Deaf princess.

Perhaps the concept is that she went Deaf when she lost her family. It could be why the Grandmother turns her away.

Until we can do ASL with puppets... there's probably no reason to tell this story with Deaf characters.

Because this is a story about being othered by society and the way closemindedness can impact everyone.

In the song Show You A Thing Or Two, Edgar learns English by copying his mother's speech. This could instead be a scene where she realizes he can't understand English, but they could use signs to communicate. Which would surely highlight the benefit of language access. Then his family members or perhaps bats can be the ones who sing for him.

I'm imagining Deaf Belle. Her Deafness is why the town doesn't like her. Yet it'll show positive representation in that she's desirable and well-read and all that.

What if the reason the Beast started signing is because when he was transformed he lost his ability to speak. So he started signing instead. Perhaps the reason he and his whole castle were transformed in the first place is because he abused his power of speech. The big question is how do you get some objects to use ASL. It's not too crazy to have Lumiere sign but it is a touch

Bella would be a challenge, especially since there's a whole moment where her but talks. But her butt would need hands. I do think it would be a great writing prompt to have people come up with tall tales that center on a Deaf character though.

This is a kid's show about a boy wondering who to invite to his bithday. I think this would be a very endearing story if he was a Deaf kid in a mainstreamed school.

This is a very layered show that's mostly about a boy who becomes a ballet dancer. I don't think making one of the main characters Deaf would do anything but confuse.
