I also use Vimeo to some degree for more independent film/less influencer-y content.Decoupling from YouTube? There's probably some level of interest in serving more YouTube content than other sources as a result of that. Additionally, oftentimes for news video, I don't seek it out on Google, I just see it embedded in a written piece. Google could do a better job of surfacing those embedded items. There's more of it. And the key content creators are influencers rather than larger studios. And everywhere except YouTube, it's getting shorter and shorter. less than 25%of the timeless than 25%of the timeText messages, mostly. YouTube comments sections are the absolute WORST.If they're quality annotations and not what you typically see in YouTube comments, I'd be open to it.I fast forward the video until I find what is interesting to me, I get bored after watching a section of the video and leave the page, I watch the whole damn thing, or I listen to it while I do other things until I get to a part I absolutely MUST see.I do not save video content, I bookmark it, I save to a playlistI don't.I use the YouTube "start playback at" feature.YesWhen I think of this feature, I usually think of people listening to dubstep and commenting when the drop happens. I'm a slow reader so I worry that it's too difficult to make meaningful comments in writing that are tied to a specific moment.
