Battle of the Streamers (BotS) is a speedrunning event in which streamers and their communities compete by completing Act 5 Kitava Pts+Lab runs with various classes.

It is a friendly competition for those who wish to step up their levelling skills before the 3.18 league launch, those who want to race or simply support their favourite streamer.

In BotS the Exilecon finalist Tytykiller will face a team of Challengers - Quantrik, MeShaMaaN and Pillebrille

When is the event?

The event starts on April 20, 2022 at 7pm UTC / 3pm ET / 12pm PT

It lasts exactly 2 weeks, ending on May 4 at the same time it started at.

Who can participate in this event?

The event is open to everyone. You don't have to be a qualified racer or a subscriber of one of the streamers. Regardless of your skill level or experience with racing / speedrunning, you can earn points for your team. Deathless runs are not required.

Streaming is not a requirement but you must submit a VOD of your run.

How to participate in this event?

There are no sign ups. Simply complete, record and submit a valid run indicating which team you are playing for.

Runs are submitted and displayed on the PoE speedrun website

To submit a run, you must sign up (create an account) on this website. Once that's done click on the yellow "Submit run" button and complete the short form.

If it's your first run, type either "Team Tytykiller" or "Team Challengers" in the description box at the bottom. You may not change teams after submitting your first run. All your next runs will contribute points to the same team.

It only takes a few minutes to create an account and submit a run.

Becoming a qualified racer

As part of this event you can become a qualified racer. To do this you must submit a DEATHLESS Act 5 Kitava Pts+Lab run that's under 2 hours.

To prove the run had no deaths it either has to be in a HC league or it must show /deaths = 0 at the end of it. /passives at the end of the run is also required.

Also make sure to provide your discord tag so that your role on the PoE Community Racing discord can be updated.

General Rules

Any form of account sharing or other breaches of the Terms of Service are not allowed. This includes Path of Exile ToS and Twitch ToS if a participant is streaming on Twitch.

Admins are allowed to reject a run if it breaks any of the rules.

Admins have the right to change the rules at their discretion.

Run Specific Rules

The objective of the run is to kill Act 5 Kitava with the Normal Lab completed and all available skill points from quests obtained.

The run starts when your character first moves and ends when the minus resists message at the end of act 5 pops up. You must have all the passives obtained before that, including the one from Reliquary.

A run must be fresh. The VOD must show a "migrate all" before the run begins. Runs missing this will not be accepted.

Runs can be completed in any SSF league - this includes SSF Archnemesis, SSF HC Archnemesis, SSF Standard, SSF Hardcore and any SSF private leagues.

For those who prefer not to migrate all on their main account and don't want to play on a second account, there will be a SSF SC private league running during the event where you can complete your runs.

A run does not have to be deathless.

At the end of your run you must type /passives. If you've helped one of the bandits in act 2, you must have 8, if you've killed them all - 10.

A run must be completed during the event. Any runs submitted after 7pm UTC on May 4 will not earn any points.

Using an external timer is required. Pausing the timer during the run is not allowed.

The main two timers speedrunners use are Wsplit and Livesplit.

Players cannot use items from remove only tabs (such as Alt Arts)

Submission Rules

A run does not have to be streamed live. The player must, however, provide a link to a VOD, either a youtube video or a twitch highlight. Twitch VODs are not accepted.

When submitting the first run, a player must specify whether they are playing for Team Tytykiller or Team Challengers.

A player is not allowed to change teams after their first run was submitted. Any further runs submitted by that player will score points for the same team.

A participant must not submit runs from more than one speedrun.com account.

Point System

A participant may speedrun on any class and on as many classes as they want, gaining points for each. The points for runs with various classes are summed up.

A participant may submit several runs for a single class but only the best run will count and contribute points toward the team. The best run is one that gains the most points.

The amount of points gained depends on the length of the run:

01:35:00 time is worth 3 points

01:55:00 time is worth 2 points

02:20:00 time is worth 1 point

For a run with 0 deaths there is an additional 1 point. To earn this point a participant must show /deaths = 0 at the end of the run or submit a run in any HC league.

For example, let's say Bob submits the following runs:

1h 42 min on templar, with 1 death

- 3 points for the templar run

2h 19 min on marauder, with several deaths

- 2 points for the marauder run

2h 22 min on ranger, with 0 deaths

- 1+1 points for the ranger run

In total Bob earns 7 points for his team.

The team with more points at the end of the event wins.
