Shelter in Place - Medical Emergency (AED)3/21/202412:4012:5110mins 12 secsSunny - 41 degreesAll staff and StudentsWe conducted a medical response drill. There are 12 members of the emergency response team. After everyone reports only the first 4 people will remain to address the medical issue. During this drill 7 out of the 12 members of the emergency team reported to the emergency location. SInce this is out first drill for medical emerency, we required all present to remain and review procedures. Nurse reviewed the expectations of a medical emergency, location of AEDs, and Janet's Law.Email members of the team who were at work but did not report to the emergency location to identify why they did not report. Emal responses indicating the reasons all members did not report - 1) Dean was with several students and could not leave them unattended. 2) Two PE teachers were on prep and were offsite at the time. 3) Elementary teacher did not realize that she was a member of the team. 4) One elementary teacher was absent. We reconize that in a true emergency people may be absent, offsite, or unable to report. As a result, The emergency response team consists of more team members than are required to respond to an incident. The team requires only 4 team members to address a medical issue. All members make an effort to report to the code in order to ensure that the required 4 are present.
