THE MINOR IN JEWISH CULTURE

Jewish Culture minors study classic Jewish texts, both sacred and secular, and Jewish history from the time of Abraham to the present. Learn more about the Jewish Culture program at Lang's website.

The minor in Jewish Culture requires completion of 5 courses, distributed as follows, and a minimum of 18 credits. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in all courses to meet the requirements for this minor.

* Students will be encouraged through the advising process to structure these courses either by field or subject. Two of these courses may be taken outside of Lang if they appear in the yearly list of courses accepted as part of the Jewish Culture program. In some subject areas, advanced students may use graduate courses or a related internship to fulfill this requirement. Students should consult the departmental faculty advisor and the Jewish Culture website's sidebar for the list of courses accepted as part of this program in any given term.

** Students interested in the optional capstone experience, should consult the departmental faculty advisor. Examples of this option include leading a 'Jewish Text' group discussion; an independent project; a collaborative independent project; an internship; and an advanced seminar or approved graduate course.
