***WORK IN PROGRESS***

Nintendo Power & Source Pak:
-Didn't start reviewing games until issue 5.
-Games in issues 5-99 were scored in four categories: Graphics & Sound, Play Control, Challenge, and Theme & Fun.
-Games in issues 100-x- were scored in five categories: Graphics, Play Control, Game Design, Satisfaction, and Sound. Then they averaged into a single overall score.
-The "Nintendo Power Source Pak" was a NP supplement that scored all the NES games up to the first quarter of 1990, including games released before Nintendo Power existed.

EGM:
-The first EGM issue didn't give numbered scores, instead it used "Miss!", "Near Hit!", "Hit!", "Direct Hit!", or "Seal of Approval". This comes from its precursor magazine—Electronic Game Player, which ran for 4 issues.
-Starting with the second issue, games were scored by multiple people, with each person gaving it their own score.
-On issue 51, some games were given short reviews with a single score. Then, starting with issue 52, the short reviews were given scores by 5 people. That lasted until issue 68.
-Starting with issue 61, they started giving scores to sports games in a separate section. It lasted until issue xx.
-Starting with issue 69, scores were given with decimal points.
-Starting with issue 84, on top of the individual scores given by the review crew, games were also rated in four categories: Visuals, Sound, Ingenuity, and Replay Value.
-EGM had a yearly buyer's guide which sometimes had reviews not found in the monthly magazines.

EGM Sister Magazines:
-EGM had some sister magazines that also scored games: Mega Play, and Super NES Buyer's Guide.

Game Pro:
-Didn't start giving review scores until issue 15.
-Games were scored in five categories: Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, Fun Factor, and Challenge.
-Starting with issue 35, the Challenge category was changed from a number to an adjetive: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, or Adjustable.
-Game Pro jumped from issue 80 to issue 91 on 1996, there was no official reason for the numbering jump.
-By issue 93 they started to use a new method, where the challenge was moved to another part of the review, included a replay value from Hi, Medium or Low, and the scores for Graphics, Sound, Gameplay and Fun Factor would be randomly ordered from game to game, all this while still using the old method, which made it all the more confusing.
-In magazine 100 they scored some handheld games on an single score.
-In magazine 101 they left out the difficulty score in some games.
-By issue 222 they simplified the score to just show the Fun Factor.
-In issue 241 they changed yet again to a star rating system to show the Fun Factor.

Game Players:
-Games were scored in five categories: Graphics, Music & Sound FX, Innovation, Gameplay, Replay Value. They are then averaged into a single overall score.

Game Fan:
-In issue 1 & 2, games were given two scores. Starting with issue 3, this was expanded to 4 scores.
