Understanding healthcare knowledge and utilization patterns among University of Michigan studentsWe are conducting a study to understand the healthcare knowledge and experiences of students. If you are a current undergraduate or graduate student, we would love to hear from you! The study involves an approximately 60-minute interview over Zoom at a time that works for you. Your insights will help us better understand healthcare access and utilization among graduate students.https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJBfD01MPOUx-mIwzsE4XzdkohA3LvEveLcMFXMITzdMrSbw/viewformTo acknowledge your time and effort, participants will be entered into a lottery for a $50 gift card. The odds of winning are 1:8.Dr. Alexandra Vinsonahvinson@med.umich.eduUNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN IRB (STUDY NUMBER: HUM00261897)End of Fall Semester 2024

Push/Pull: Undergraduate Men's Experiences with FriendshipThis is a research study of University of Michigan undergraduate men's experiences in their closest friendships. Themes of the survey include talking about mental health and wellbeing with friends, experiencing teasing and relational aggression from friends, and what kinds of physical touch occur within men's friendships.bit.ly/pushpullmiAll participants receive $5 when they complete the survey and are entered into a raffle for one of five $250 Amazon gift certificates. Referring more participants to the survey results in getting your name entered multiple times. Anna K. Wood, LLMSW, PhD Candidate in Social Work & Sociologywoodak@umich.eduHUM002420706/1/2026

Can LLMs perform moral judgment based on various perspectives? We are part of LAUNCH, a group at the University of Michigan focusing on natural language processing. Currently, we are working on creating a benchmark to evaluate the ability of Large Language Models (LLMs) to make pluralistic moral judgments. People’s value systems are intricate and nuanced, yet there is no existing framework to assess whether LLMs can understand these complex intertwinings of values. Our project aims to address this gap by generating diverse character descriptions that cover various intertwinings and using them to assess how well LLMs can adopt these perspectives in resolving moral dilemmas.

For this study, we are looking for students to assist with inspecting values, inspecting character descriptions, and annotating labels. The tasks involve the following:

Inspecting Values: Reviewing and refining the values generated by LLMs to ensure they are relevant to the given moral dilemma, appropriately scoped, and presented in the correct format.

Inspecting Character Descriptions: Evaluating character descriptions generated by LLMs to ensure they align with predetermined criteria based on the given moral dilemma.

Annotating Labels: Annotating the answers to the questions based on the given moral dilemma and character description.

You may choose the task(s) you prefer, with the exception that selecting “Inspecting the Character Descriptions” will automatically include participation in the “Annotating the Labels” task as part of the pipeline.

Before you officially participate in the project, you will be asked to complete a short evaluation task. We will provide 5~10 examples for you to inspect or annotate based on our criteria. This preliminary task will be used for selection purposes, and will not count toward the total hours specified in the contract.

Each dilemma situation has around 300 words on average, with 11 associated character descriptions averaging around 100 words each.

Inspecting Values: Takes about 5 minutes per dilemma and pays $1.25 per dilemma.

Inspecting Character Descriptions (including Annotating Labels): Takes about 10 minutes to complete both inspection and annotation for each dilemma and pays $2.50 per dilemma.

Annotating Labels: Takes about 6 minutes per dilemma and pays $1.50 per dilemma.

We expect students to dedicate around 6-8 hours each week (though more are encouraged!).

We will give each participant around 50 dilemma situations at a time, and will continually evaluate the quality of your work to ensure a good fit.

If you are interested in participating in the study, please fill out this google form (https://forms.gle/P3dHWh7NvyKdgzqg9). We will reach out to you shortly. Thank you!
