SITE NEWS:Little time now, if you want to take over, drop me a line using the details at the base of this page.
5
TIPS:Try before you buy. If you can afford it, buy a wireless device (phone, tablet etc) cash and take out a rolling monthly sim only contract. That way you can give your air time provider a months notice if they are not up to scratch or you leave the country/planet etc.
6
IMPORTANT:Signal sensitivity, daylight screen visibility, device responsiveness (speed!), battery life, RAM (more=better), camera quality & auto focus speed, comfort in hand/button placement, grippyness - to avoid droppage.
So: Try phone in person first, and don't forget you have 14 days to return it in the UK, that's the law!

IMPORTANT:
Since coming into an awesome LG G3, (along with Moto X, outstanding ergonomics and thoughtful features), I am removing my advice that suggested screen resolution was not important. It is. Small text is easier to read and 4K videos look amazing. The human eye is very sensitive.

DISCLAIMER:My employer is in the business of 'gadgets' and so to avoid a conflict of interests, rumors or leaks about unannounced products won't be found here.
This guide exists solely to help you dear frustrated consumer, and is impartial, but I consider Motorola to be the best at mobile devices for reasons beyond the scope of this single spreadsheet cell!

Fedup of wires & cables that tangle and frey as well as introducing interference into the equation? Bluetooth is now so good, I'm only going to list wireless headsets.

TABLETS
20
As a power user and someone with exceptional requirements, after having owned just about every tablet, I've given up trying to use one for business and sticking with my MacBook Pro. For high power productivity, tablets are not there yet for all manner of reasons. For media consumption, sales and web surfing, they are ideal.

USB Charging port is on the bottom edge making it impossible to charge whilst the tablet is upright, but the battery life is so good it doesn't really matter.
Heavy & buggy. So much so, and so sluggish when using some apps and when browsing pages in Chrome, I sent it back.

SMART WATCHES
27
Aug 12 2014 - Just bought my first one (Sony Smartwatch 2), and already convinced. Beware flaws in the first generation Google Wear watches such as non standard charging methods and hard to read in daylight displays. This Sony has none of those limitations. (I don't include the yet to be launched Moto 360 in that comment because it has yet to be reviewed by paying end users who provide the best feedback. However, it does use wireless charging and has a daylight readable display.) The greatest benefit of smart watches is that you do not have to keep removing your phone from your pocket. If you read a message on the watch and it is not urgent, you can always reply from your phone or other device later. Am already finding the Sony invaluable after only 24 hours. Amazed not to see more of them, it's very well executed in every aspect.

Cannot re-arrange icons on watch 'desktop', but that's nit picking.
