Keepers

Teams are allowed to keep up to 7 MLB players and 5 minor eligible players.*

*with the 2024 league improvements the amount of minor eligible players allowed to be kept for the 2015 season was increased to 10 minor eligible players.

Keeper contracts

The contract system was introduced with the 2024 season that will cease the existence of the forever keep option.

Contracts will be used to limit the amount of time a player can be kept by a single team to a total of 3 years.

2024 Transition

The 2024 season is the transition year from the keep forever format to the contracts system therefore team owners will have to apply one of the following contracts to their kept players.

1st year contract x1

2nd year contract x2

3rd year contract x4

The team owners have to first select their keepers within the Fantrax keeper admin and then message the commissioner with the desired contracts distribution.

Minor league keepers will get a minor league contract.
