Minor League Ball Spreadsheet Primer
3
4
On the bottom of the spreadsheet there are twelve tabs.
5
The first tab is the primer you're reading right now.
6
Tab #2 is the current days schedule, probable starters for the day, and the injury list.
7
Match ups highlighted in yellow are the Duels of the Day (DotD), and there is an affiliation
8
key next to each league to help you keep track of which Minor League teams are linked to which Major League teams.
9
The third tab is the next day's schedule with probable starters and the affiliation keys.
10
11
The Duels of the Day will be in the fourth tab with the previous day's match ups, and the duels for the upcoming slate of games.
12
The fifth and sixth tabs are the Top 175 prospects, broken up by pitchers and hitters.
13
This is where you can follow along and see how each player fared the previous day.
14
Any players that are currently injured will be in red with the date and type of injury in the Notes section. Suspended players are in orange.
15
The seventh tab is all the players John mentioned as being "in the picture" of the Top 175.
16
Again, this is split up between pitchers and hitters, and also includes each players ranking for their respective teams.
17
18
The eighth tab will house the players John tabbed as sleepers or with a high ceiling alert.
19
Each grouping is separated to distinguish between the sleepers and high ceiling alert players.
20
As with the "In The Picture" tab, both groups are split between pitchers and hitters and includes team ranks.
21
22
The ninth tab will be the IFA's, or international free agents.
23
Only players who received a signing bonus of at least $500,000 beginning with the 2012-13 signing period will be tracked.
24
This section is also split up depending on signing bonus amounts.
25
They are split between the seven figure, $1M+ bonuses and players who received between $500,000 and $999.999.
26
This section includes the bonus amount, what year they signed, and their ranking within their organization.
27
28
The tenth tab are the Helium Tank players.
29
These players have gotten off to a great start to the year and have gained some helium in the prospect status.
30
If they keep up their current pace, expect these players to shoot up prospect rankings.
31
As with the "In The Picture" and Sleeper Alert! tabs, the Helium Tank is split between pitchers and hitters, and includes team ranks.
32
33
The final two tabs are where you can find the season stats for any players in the spreadsheet.
34
35
Once the season gets underway, we will add in more sections that include more players.
36
The 2015 amateur draft in June will have its own section with another 42 players.
37
Another 25 "deep sleepers" will be added to the craziness once the short season leagues kick off in June under the "Tempurpedic" section.
