Select the spreadsheet (from the tabs below) that corresponds to the hydrophone location you're monitoring. Scroll to bottom of page* and add a few rows if necessary (it's easiest with the little "+" icon in the lower left corner). Then type in the date, time (please be sure to use Pacific Daylight Time in 24-hour format, e.g. 2 p.m. = 14:00 ), your name (optional), and your observations. If you want to get fancy, you can also log when you start and stop listening. If you happen to rip the stream as you listen, you can attach the file (ideally in .mp3 format) to an email and send it to detection@orcasound.net. We'll put it in the archives for you at orcasound.netmailto://detection@orcasound.net

You may also enjoy using the links and web cams listed at http://orcasphere.net/wiki to gather context about what you are hearing on the hydrophones...http://orcasphere.net/wiki

Finally, you might like to get updates when others alter this spreadsheet. (It's a handy way to know when and where others are hearing interesting things.) Once signed in, just click on the Share tab (upper right) and select your favorite flavor of "Notify me at..." You can also get emails when other listeners are hearing or commenting on lives sounds via the locate@orcasphere.net email list (see link at right).http://lists.orcasphere.net/listinfo.cgi/locate-orcasphere.net

* You can reverse sort on the date column (under tools) and then add rows using the Insert menu, but try to leave with most recent entry at the bottom to reduce confusion for beginners. Thanks!
