39 | Darius is tall and yet gangly, despite how much he eats, and his tousled head of hair never wants to stay organized. This cause him a bit of annoyance, because he tries to keep everything tidy and clean, and that extends to himself, but it's something that he just has to put up with... Just like other people have to put up with his sometimes-klutziness. | He comes from the small village of Goldstream in the Fiefdom of Langford. It was not always small. Sadly, there is no longer the amount of gold in the stream that there once was, and thus the population dwindled. Now, they rely mostly on sustaining themselves, and paying taxes to the Fiefdom. Darius found himself born to a regular family, just trying to mke a semi-comfortable life for themselves. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the term... he just wasn't any good at anything. He was constantly screwing up, in a new way each time. So in order to ensure the preservation of life, he was told to practice with a... less lethal weapon than the pike that was his family name. So he trained with someone who used Kinsects, eventually becoming adept enough to... not kill anything unintentionally. And maybe even do so intentionally. But in the meantime he helped around the house, finding much enjoyment in the kitchen. Although... he started out making a lot of mistakes. Eventually, though, he found himself actually being useful. For something more than being an example of what not to do. But variety is the spice of life (even though it does come with more ways to screw up...), and Darius found his life lacking. So when news came about the fabled land of Qedem being rediscovered, he lept at the opportunity. Not only because of the chance to visit a wondrous new land, but also because it would give him the opportunity to go somewhere and not be known as the perpetual screw up. Also... just imagine the new dishes to be concocted, and the tastes to be brought back. 41 | Darius is a generally quiet, often awkward, lad. He tries to be helpful but... usually can't quite manage it. You can generally learn more from the mistakes he makes than anything else - he certainly does. He enjoys getting out, and enjoying the peace of nature - well, the peace of it when nothing's trying to kill you - but to him it's more of a food source than anything. He finds that there's nothing better than going out and getting your own food... though he usually relies on other people for the meat, because he isn't too good at hunting. There are far more mistakes to make than in cooking... But, in the kitchen or around a fire, his awkwardness disappears, replaced with a confidence. Although, the truth is he's simply made far more mistakes in the kitchen that he's learned from... But no one needs to know that. | His main goal is really... to spice up his life. Discover new things. New foods. New people. Be somewhere where he doesn't know everyone by name, where he isn't known as a perpetual screw up...
