In particular, look at Slide 48 of the powerpoint summary at the link above.

This spreadsheet includes more raw/source data than was reported on Slide 48 (thank you to Change the Equation and C+R Research for sharing the source data with Code.org)

High school students were asked for each course about their attitudes about courses they'd taken or planned to take, with options to answer “Like it a lot”, “Like it a little”, “Dislike it a little”, or “Dislike it a lot”

This sheet reflects two different analyses:

1) Adding up all the “Like it a lot” votes for each category of classes, as a % of all votes in that category. Note that this is averaging votes, not students. It also may reflect selection bias, because some courses are required core classes, and students are more likely to like a course if they chose it than if it were required.

2) A repeat of the analysis in #1, but only looking at courses that are Advanced Placement or Elective courses, excluding core classes, to remove selection bias.

A third but incorrect analysis would be to average the percentages in column B. This would result in similar results, but would be statistically incorrect because the denominators for these percentages are different.

Finally, note that some of these classes at low attendance numbers, and so the percentage of “Like it a Lot” votes for those individual classes may not be reliable due to small sample sizes.
