| What is this resource?
| As a Jewish Community we recognize that quarantine can take a significant mental toll on people, especially those living in social isolation. As Yom Tov approaches many are concerned about the Mental Health impact of 3 days of disconnection. Numerous Rabbis have ruled that in cases of pikuach nefesh (saving a life) or significant mental distress using a phone to call a mental health professional or a supportive friend would be mandated even on Shabbat or Yom Tov. That being said, some people might not know who to call or be afraid of "ruining" someone else's holiday. That is why we are creating this resource. Please view everyone below as a friend to reach out to and connect with. If you have a personal question of Jewish Law please contact your local clergy or email one of the clergy on our Supporter list. If you have a therapist/psychiatrist they should probably be your first phone call. We stand together as one community to support each other always. This page includes the following:
| 1) Hotline Support Numbers - In case of acute distress or emergency, call 911 or these hotline numbers for immediate and trained mental health support (see sheet labeled "Hotline Support Numbers").
| 2) Supporter List - This is a list of people who have volunteered to support you over Yom Tov (see sheet labeled "Supporter List"). We encourage anyone who thinks they might need support to email a local volunteer from the list before Yom Tov and get their phone number. They pledge to keep their phones on for the duration of the Yom Tov. (If you would like to volunteer, please write down your contact information in the sheet below labeled "Supporter List.")
| 3) How to Ask for Support - For advice on how to ask for support, which is not always an easy thing to do (see sheet labeled "How to ask for support").
| 4) How to Provide Support - A guide for how to respond if someone calls you in distress
