I didn’t even know there was an app. But yes, theft, all types of assaults, vandalism, accidents, hate crimes, etc. Real time Accident and traffic alerts as well as weather warning updates would be fantastic!

If possible, picture evidence but for the most part, this is to keep people SAFE so the honor system. Let’s be honest, RUPD barely investigates crimes anyways.

Ban users for valid false reports or pranks. But ultimately, I’m unsure why people wouldn’t take things like this seriously.

Definitely location sharing or emergency contact buttons that look like regular buttons. Maybe a filming function that’s quick and easy to get to that sends evidence right to emergency services.

The main thing is that it needs to be quick to access, easy to use and fast at reporting crimes and alerting RUPD. A video or picture function would be great.

Good reporting could allow for a system like a leaderboard maybe? Earn points for something? Or possibly if they reach enough good reporting if we include the point system and they get 300 points they could have some couple hundred or thousand dollars deducted from their student bills.

This might be too complex but it would be nice to have a map with ‘zones’ potentially showing where incidents are more likely to happen. So an example would be to have George street be a red zone or for Kilmer road to be a green zone

It’s hard to do because anything can get reported as fake. Honestly video proof is the only way I can think of, but that can be taken out of context.

Distinguish between dangerous areas and actual incidents. A dangerous area could be a protest or any event that attracts a lot of people.

Small Scale Crimes like Theft, Assault and Vandalism but also crimes that people might prefer to report anonymously like Sexual Assault

While users are allowed to report anonymously, you should at least collect and verify one piece of personal identification that won’t be publicized, like Social Security.

Actively working with law enforcement to enforce legal punishment is a great way to show reports are being investigated.

With user content, allowing location tracking at the time of report, emergency contact through haptics or a homescreen widget that overrides device security for campus security or state police, notifications of a recently committed-crime in their area or radius.

Linked account ticketing system so every account receives a number that is identified with each user and false reports can resort in being banned or suspended to the app. Only thing is there has to be no account log out action, unless deleted.
