24 | Daniel Ford: Hello all, I enjoy the show & just wanted to say thanks since it’s my Saturday AM run podcast post Friday evening geek out when mando drops. I thought of the above on an aforementioned run....isn’t it convenient that mando now owns a beskar spear, the one weapon we’ve seen in the show that could fight against the dark saber? Both would be non force fielders so it’s a fair-ish fight. Thoughts? Thanks again for the show! Sincerely, Dan
25 | Ben Ryckman: Hello! I was just trying to get my son into the holiday spirit for his first day of Thanksgiving break, so I fired up Disney+ to see what had come out. Low, the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special. I was working from home at the time, but while I was working I was hearing actual Star Wars Lore, like post Skywalker saga stuff! There's a whole time-portal element injecting some quasi meta-lore that's just good fun, pulling from all over the Skywalker timeline. I recommend checking it out! I know I will when I am not working :) May the Force be with you, and happy Life Day. Ben from WI
26 | Chris Hollander: I might have to rewatch the season finale, but I think mando had already flew away when moff Gideon cut his way out of the tie fighter? I don’t know if he ever actually saw the dark saber, so I don’t know if his ears would have perked up when bo-Katan mentioned it.
27 | Dave Fuller: I think fish lady believing that hyperspace will kill her eggs is the first example of an “anti-vaxxer” in the Star Wars universe
28 | Rob Wynne: I found this after hearing you talk about it. I also fell off the couch laughing over that. https://www.looper.com/274194/the-line-in-the-mandalorian-season-2-that-means-more-than-you-think/
29 | Rob Wynne: You were wondering what happened to the egg. He didn't take the egg because it doesn't fit on the bike. :)He didn't take Baby Yoda with him the last time he was on Tatooine. He left him on the ship. | Is that going to burn him at some point? leaving the baby on the ship?
30 | Robert VanKalker: The shadowy character (Jedi?) Is Sasha Banks from WWE. She is one of their most popular superstars, and conveniently enough (like it was scripted 😉🤫) became champ just 5 days before her debut in the mandalorian. So probably not a throwaway character. | But when will we see her again?

11 | Team "The Debt of Honor" gets the Lambda shuttle and the creepy science guy.
12 | They recruit Bo-Katan and her ahem sidekick - hilarious Fett calling her Princess. I love it. Her calling hima clone.
13 | They make a plan. | ||
14 | The execute the plan. Crash the shuttle onto the ship w/ Boba Fetts help. "Activate the Iron Legion. I mean Dark Troopers." Team Darksaber Shoot their way through light cruiser. Gideon obvi knows its them. Mando goes his way. BADASS LADY BRIGADE shoot,kick and fly towards the bridge Droid lol. Cara's gun jams. Dark Troopers move out. Mando fights one Dark Trooper. HELMET PUNCH. HELMET PUNCH. Fire. Other DT's trying to get out Uses his singing birds. Dark Trooper shish kebab. Flushes the rest into space. They take the bridge but Gideon is not there. Because he is holding the Darksaber over Grogu's head. There's a fakeout, then a fight.Then Din Djarin gets THE DARKSABER HELLO KING. The LOOK on Bo's face. The Darksaber doesn't have power, the story does.
15 | Return of the Dark Troopers. "How many life forms? None. DARKTROOPER DUBSTEP. Door punching. "everyone is this room will be dead, but me and the child."
16 | All hope seems lost. | ||
17 | X-FUCKING-WING, with just the hint of a BLUE DROID. "one x wing? great. we're saved." Just FYI at 30:08 they give you TWO MUSICAL NOTES that tell you everything you need to know about who's in that fighter. Just two. Grogu perks up. Person in a cloak on a black & white screen. Clever! Then the shot. All in black, one hand has a glove, that belt and tunic combo green lightsaber. Gideon tries it. Bo goes down, Mando protects The Child. Moff tries to peace out, but Cara stops him. The Child is so excited. it's NOT NOTHING seeing this Jedi in an imperial elevator again.
18 | Return of the FUCKING Jedi. SCREAMING CRYING WILLFUL IGNORING OF UNCANNY VALLEY He wants your permission. He is strong with the force, but talent without training is nothing. I will give my life to protect the child, but he will not be safe until he masters his. abilities.

Earl Brown from Deadwood A WHOLE ASS KRAYT DRAGON
18 | Returning recurring Faces: Peli Motto, played by Amy Sedaris R-5! The ice cream container returns!
19 | AMAZING NEW OLD FACE: Temuera Morrison! As someone who is likely, but not definitively but very probably Boba Fett.

56 | The various Jedi go to the planets where the will die during Order 66. Anakin & Obi Wan get one last hurrah together before meeting with Ahsoka and heading off to start Episode III. Ahsoka uses the callsign "Fulcrum" for the first time. Anakin and Ahsoka's reunion is as warm as Bo-Katan and Obi Wan's is ICE COLD. Obi Wan exercises the control Anakin lacks. Anakin put Rex in charge of a portion of the 501st so that he can lead the battalion into the Siege of Mandalore. Rex and Ahsoka's reunion. Obi Wan advises Ahsoka to capture Maul because he doesn't stay dead. Anakin returns Ahsoka's lightsabers. But they're blue now. Ahsoka's arrival on Mandalore is movie-quality action. I like Maul's new Mandalorian livery. “I was hoping for Kenobi, why are you here?”

77 | Recap: When we last saw Ahsoka she willingly left the Jedi order after being falsely accused of bombing the Jedi Temple.
78 | Ahsoka is now hanging out in Level 1313 of Coruscant. Her speeder bike breaks down and she meets a mechanic, Trace.
79 | Trace doesn't like the Jedi.
80 | Ahsoka saves Trace from some thugs Trace's sister, Rafa, owes money to.
81 | We meet Rafa who enlists Trace's help rebuilding a set of binary load lifters.
82 | Ahsoka warns Trace of the danger of droids, and load lifters specifically, just in time for one to go on a rampage.
83 | Ahsoka and Trace chase down the lifter and Rafa sells them to pay back her debt.
84 | The tension between Trace and Ahsoka has far from disipated at the end of the episode. |

15 | Rex, Cody, and fellow Clones must face off against Admiral Trench once again (on planet Anaxes). Rocking his cyborg limbs after being blown up by Anakin in S2's Cat and Mouse.
16 | Fun fact: In Rebels the Ghost crew also visited Anaxes. But by then Anaxes has been reduced to asteroids.
17 | |||
18 | Rex has survivor's guilt (looks back on Hevy's death [in S1] and Fives death [in S6] when he tried to expose Order 66)
19 | Rex tell Mace/Anakin that the droids are perfectly countering his strategies.
20 | The Bad Batch (Clone Force 99) arrive to aid Rex/Cody in a mission behind enemy lines to locate the source of the droids' victories.

34 | Padme calling out the irony of Anakin worrying about Rex being too personally attached is chemistry the prequels needed.
35 | "I hope you at least told Padmé I said hello,"
36 | "Obi-Wan's not dumb -- he knows Anakin's in love with this woman. I don't think he understands that they got married," executive producer Dave Filoni said in a behind-the-scenes interview for the official Star Wars site. "He never thinks the two of them would do something so drastic. But it dawns on him over time that they have." -CNET

In Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities behind Dok over his right shoulder is the Mandalorian's Helmet and Rifle just hanging out for all to see. I wonder now that the show is live if they are still in that location or have they been moved!? Also just an fyi Galaxy's Edge was not even on my radar until I started listening to you guys and one entire day of my trip was spent there because of you! So thank you for that! And by way of some mouse magic I was actually given a cantina menu that made my trip! Thanks again and MTFBWY! Dave

23 | Let's Talk About Star Wars #51: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker - Final Trailer | URL
24 | Final Trailer | ||
25 | |||
26 | Breakdown | ||
27 | Finn: "It's an instinct. A feeling. The Force brought us together."
28 | Rey running through the dense forest we've seen in other trailers. She drops a helmet (with the blast shield down) and deflects a blast from a training remote. There's also a shot of Rey inside a crashed Destroyer?
29 | |||
30 | Poe/Resistance Montage: "We're not alone. Good people will fight if we lead them."
31 | Circular Rebel meetin with Lando, Chewie, and Poe in the center. Rose finally makes an appearance flanked by Dominic Monaghan Poe, Finn, and Chewie by (I'm assuming) Poe's new Orange AF X-wing. Immediately followed by what looks like a Corellian Corvette (Leia's ship at the beginning of A New Hope)
32 | |||
33 | Rey/Awesome Montage: "People keep telling me they know me. No one does." Kylo: "But I do."
34 | Rey atop Death Star wreckage as the sea churns violently. Coolest shot of Kylo ever (emerging from the waves).
35 | |||
36 | Frozen land mass in space
37 | A squadron of TIEs race toward a colony built into a lone frozen mass in space. Creepy throne (unused McQuarrie concept of the Emperor's Throne). Palpatine: "Long have I waited. And now you're coming together is your undoing." Star Destroyers breaking through ice as lightning cracks. Massive Resistance fleet. Basically every Rebel ship is here (including the Ghost). Looks like Lando/Chewie in Falcon. Cut to Chewie/Rey/Finn/Poe/3PO in the Falcon cockpit. A Destroyer destroys something.
38 | |||
39 | 3PO: "Taking one last look sir, at my friends."
40 | B1 Battle Droid in the background. Poe and Finn cap some Troopers. Luke: "Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi. Your destiny."
41 | |||
42 | SO MANY THINGS | ||
43 | Riding horse things into combat against Star Destroyers? Rey and Kylo in the wreckage of Palpatine's Throne Room. Finn yells Rey again on the Death Star wreckage. Rey and Kylo destroy something that looks Vader-esque. B-wings!!!! Rey stares down the Emperor? Luke: "The Force will be with you." Leia: "Always" |

27 | An Insider in Anaheim Tells Us You mentioned room for expansion. There is quite a bit of backstage area behind Galaxy's Edge and ToonTown. Currently it's all offices, warehouses, workshops, etc, but a lot of that could be moved off site if needed. This is sheer speculation on my part, but potentially the Park could be expanded all the way back to Ball Road. And it's still possible Disney could reach an agreement with Anaheim, Orange County and maybe the State of California to expand into the area southeast of Harbor and Katella that is currently the Toy Story parking lot.

19 | Richard E. Grant revealed as a "First Order leader" Allegiant General Pryde seen hanging with General Hux on Kylo's destroyer. Seems like Pryde won't be played as humorous as General Hux given his audition material. 36 | The piece talked a lot about using the remaining footage of Carrie Fischer
37 | He (Abrams & crew) re-created the lighting to match the way Fisher had been lit. Bit by bit, she found her place in the new movie. “It was a bizarre kind of left side/right side of the brain sort of Venn diagram thing, of figuring out how to create the puzzle based on the pieces we had.” “There are moments in this movie where Carrie is there, and I really do feel there is an element of the uncanny, spiritual, you know, classic Carrie, that it would have happened this way, because somehow it worked. And I never thought it would.” -Abrams
38 | |||
39 | Kylo and Rey | ||
40 | “And then he had been forging this maybe-bond with Rey,” Driver says, “and it kind of ends with the question in the air: is he going to pursue that relationship, or when the door of her ship goes up, does that also close that camaraderie that they were maybe forming?”
41 | Kyle and Rey fight it out atop totally not the Death Star crashed into an ocean
42 | Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey battle it out with lightsabers in a stormy confrontation. Their Force-connection—what Driver calls their “maybe-bond”—will turn out to run even deeper than previously revealed.
43 | ...a source close to the movie says that their Force-connection will turn out to run even deeper than we thought.
44 | They’re uniquely suited to understand each other, but at the same time they are in every way each other’s inverse, down to Kylo’s perverse rejection of his family, which is the one thing Rey craves most.“I think there’s a part of Rey that’s like, dude, you fucking had it all, you had it all,” Ridley says. “That was always a big question during filming: you had it all and you let it go.”

71 | TFA and TLJ were both very much about passing the baton to a new generation on screen. But behind the scenes Mayhew was passing the baton to Joonas
72 | "We had a camp-like session together at [London's] Pinewood [Studios] for a week or so before we began filming The Force Awakens. We watched footage of the original movies and talked about Chewbacca's mannerisms, his nature, his attributes, his physical movements. It was the cocking of the head in a certain way, and also the proud chest of Chewbacca and the way the arms flail all over when he gets angry or excited. We talked a lot about all that." -Joonas Suotamo
73 | |||
74 | Lucas originally wanted Chewbacca to be ferocious
75 | "He was very gentle, very sweet, very easy to get along with. He was more like a Wookiee than I originally imagined a Wookiee to be. Originally, I envisioned Chewie as some big ferocious beast, but Peter's Chewie wasn't really ferocious. No matter how hard he tried, he wasn't ferocious. He would be your best friend until he got angry, then stand back. He was a gentle giant." - George Lucas

82 | Story Time Filoni & Favreau met during Clone Wars S1 / Iron-Man 1 This is how Favreau came to voice the Clone Wars Mandalorian Pre Vizsla Bringing Favreau over to the prequels is apparently Filoni's job Favreau and Filnoi worked together a lot on this project They didn't have enough Stormtroopers for a scene so Filoni brought in the 501st. Filoni wasn't worried because "the armor the fans make a lot of times is higher quality than what we use on set" And they didn't need direction. They knew exactly how Stormtroopers behaved. Filoni liked watching the 501st's reactions like a test audience

20 | Star Wars Prequel Rotten Tomatoes Scores Have Changed (A Lot) Over Time
21 | ScreenRant used the Wayback Machine which charts RT from 2005. 1 & 2 have incomplete data to start with because their scores don't start until 2005. Episode I started on RT at 62% and stayed within that range for about a decade. Episode I only hit "rotten" status after the 3D rerelease in 2012. Episode II has been very consistent with critics starting at 64% and starting 2019 at 65% Episode III is the only to have complete data, but also appears to have been tampered with. Critic score has stayed around 80%. III's audience score started at 96%, leveld to 85% for a decade. In Fall 2010 32 million new votes brought it to 64%. III has 33.6 million votes total. 32 million came in the same month. By comparios TFA has 229k votes. This was around the time of the Mr. Plinkett prequel reviews and The People vs. George Lucas. What's more interesting, though, is what the Star Wars prequels tell us about Rotten Tomatoes. Plainly, it's a rather ineffective tool for gauging the opinion of non-recent movies. They can be influenced by poorly handled rereleases or remain static without, which shape opinions as much as they present them.

18 | First look at the Mandalorian
19 | Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun! After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.

31 | Brooke Smith had some great notes about the rebels finale - here are just a few.
32 | 3) Small note: Ezra didn’t call the space whales, he sent that kid to do it. So, Ezra just remembered them, he didn’t reach out. 4) How did Ezra and Thrawn survive a hyperspace jump with all the windows blown out? I suppose the shields might still protect them or they might jump straight to another planet? 5) As to Ashoka not being mentioned: I think Ashoka either, as was said, maybe she stays on that planet till the end (or can’t get off...maybe she doesn’t have a ship now). The last thing Ezra said to her was to come find him...and since he was alive at that point, have to assume she has a reason for not doing what she said she would until after he disappeared. We don’t know that Ezra and Ashoka DONT eventually meet up with Luke, either. Maybe they help him build his academy. Maybe they were among those killed by Kylo. And I think Yoda not mentioning them as the last hope was simply because there was no way for them to defeat Vader. Luke and Leia were specifically the last hope because of their connection to Anakin as his and Padmes children and were the only ones who could potentially be as strong as him. If Luke hadn’t turned Vader, the only other person who could have was Leia. Heck, maybe up until Ahsoka ran into him, Yoda thought SHE was their hope. But then Vader tried to kill her too, and it was clear their friendship was not enough to bring him back. And she obviously wasn’t quite strong enough to beat him; just as Obi Wan wasn’t. So his kids were the last hope. 6) The Emperor conjured the Fire from some sort of force magic (think the Night Sisters way of using the force). Not the first time we’ve seen him do something similar. I think he used it in the Temple in one of the earlier seasons...or maybe it was Clone Wars. I forget, but he’s definitely used an urn like that to scry or whatever he was doing. The fire as a weapon was new, though.

35 | Theory: Sabine and Ezra are Rey's parents. Evidence: At the end of Star Wars Rebels Ezra is 18 (the same age as Luke Skywalker) and Sabine is 20. So the timeline for them to become parents. They also seem to have some chemistry going on, especially in the final episode and Sabine and Ahsoka are going to find Ezra so he's theoretically not dead. There isn't really a lot of evidence that supports this but it is cool because... Why I like this: REY WOULD BE HALF JEDI HAVE MANDALORIAN BAD ASS! Thanks for all you do and I look forward to you potentially hashing this theory out.

25 | Filoni on if time travel could affect other Star Wars properties via CinemaBlend: No, I hope not. I mean, because this is important for this particular story, and I think we'd have to be very careful about how it would be used otherwise. It's why we destroy the temple in the episode. It's mainly a place that people would go to see the future and the past. It's not such an active place and Ahsoka, for her part when she's pulled out of that moment, is placed back in that same timeline and not very long after she left it. So again, she's smart enough to know that she cannot go back with Ezra, so there is not this big time travel thing. She knows she has to remain a part of her world and her timeline. I don't really think of it as time travel. It's not really a thing where you go through one door and out another in a different time. The world between worlds is really about knowledge and gaining knowledge. As the Dume wolf says, what's in there is knowledge and destruction. You can gain knowledge of the future or futures that may happen, and you can see things that happened in the past. You can at times choose to alter them, but it's perilous to do so and when you alter something you don't know if that's not the way it always happened. So destruction is the other half of what's in there. When you go through these doorways, you're in peril of destruction because you're missing all sorts of things that would have happened or things would've happened otherwise, you know, so it's a dangerous game but it's not something we're here going in and out of different doors. It's an extension of the Jedi's ability to perceive the future and the past, as described in Empire Strikes Back.

24 | I liked this more than The Force Awakens. It felt more like a spiritual successor to Empire Strikes Back without mirroring it super closely. Love/Hate the Leia in Space sequence, Love that it kinda leans towards she does have Force powers, Hate that she looks like a superhero traveling through space without anything to push off of. Disappointed in the little Phasma we got, like this is the Phasma I was hoping for in TFA and I know she'll survive the fall because books/comics but still seems to be over hyped and under utilized. W/O the hype and books, what we saw of her would have been fine. YODA! Loved every bit of that. Almost expected him to pull up Luke's XWing from the water and tell him to go join the Resistance. OH one more thing, the scene where Holdo jumps to lightspeed and the movie goes silent, the entire theater went silent. No rustling in seats or of drinks/popcorn/wrappers. Like everyone was holding their breath to see what happened next.

26 | Jeffrey Ganong writes: I can definitely see why this might be one of the more controversial Star Wars movies. There are a lot of people passionate fans who love the lore and theories and Rian Johnson basically made a movie that throw most of that aside. Who is Snoke? And where did he come from? Doesn't matter. Who are Rey's parents? Doesn't matter. TFA set up a lot of these questions and a lot of fans thought they needed to be answered, but Rian just wanted to strip down Star Wars to its most basic parts, good verses evil and a small rebellion versus a massive empire. And I can see why some fans would be put off by that choice. He also said, it was a fun and beautifully shot movie. I don't know if it is my favorite one but it might be the most beautiful. Also, it might have been the best time I have had at the theater thanks to these guys (awesome pic of kids)

30 | Loved your discussion about TLJ. I laughed out loud when yall spoke of Kylo Ren's worthiness for redemption because I have the same debate with my wife (she can't see past the patricide). I contend that if Anakin Skywalker can be redeemed after murdering a whole academy of young padawans, then Ben Solo can come back from killing his (seemingly mostly absent) father. Keep up the great work and the puns flowing! Thanks and MtFbwY. Kind regards Bowie Duong PS Episode IX is called Redemption of Solo!

16 | Rian Johnson on why he did Snoke like that. “When I was working on the character of Kylo, I came to a place where I thought the most interesting thing would be to knock the shaky foundation out from under him at the beginning of this movie…By the end of this film, he’s gone from being a wannabe Vader to someone who is standing on his own feet as a complex villain taking the reins.” “But then the question is: What place would Snoke have at the end of that?…That made me realize the most interesting thing would be to eliminate that dynamic between the ‘emperor’ and pupil, so that all bets are off going into the next one. That also led to the possibility of this dramatic turn in the middle, which could also be a really powerful connection point between Kylo and Rey.” "It would have stopped any of these scenes dead cold if he had stopped and given a 30-second speech about how he’s Darth Plagueis…It doesn’t matter to Rey. If he had done that, Rey would have blinked and said, ‘Who?’ And the scene would have gone on…and I’m not saying he’s Darth Plagueis!” | http://collider.com/the-last-jedi-snoke-explained/#images
17 | Is Phasma dead? Rian Johnson thinks it's up in the air. Johnson: “Phasma is the Kenny from South Park of this series,” Hamill: “I think she’s got to survive... She falls through the flames and lands on a big pile of rubbish.”

30 | Here are my thoughts on "The Last Jedi": 1. Rey's parentage, OK, so I was wrong. She was not a Skywalker, although I thought that would have been a cool story, I can definitely see why Rian made this choice. More on this later. 2. I really liked Laura Dren's character and I could've totally taken her as a Liea's replacement to lead the Resistance/Rebellion. (By the way, what do we call it now?) 3. I was really sad to see Luke go, I really enjoyed his performance, his "grumpy old man who just wants to be left alone" take was great. That said, he is totally coming back. Hello, Force Ghost Luke! 4. The I can definitely see why this might be one of the more controversial Star Wars movies. There are a lot of people passionate fans who love the lore and theories and Rian Johnson basically made a movie that throw most of that aside. Who is Snoke? And where did he come from? Doesn't matter. Who are Rey's parents? Doesn't matter. Also, it might have been the best time I have had at the theater thanks to these guys. (kids attachment). Keep up the good work. Jeff from Maine
31 | Hey guys, I just saw the movie and I LOVED IT. Do you think that Kylo Ren was lying about Rey’s parents? I think he was. What was your favorite part? Mine was Yoda’s appearance. And I loved that they stuck with the Empire/ROTJ look of him. Unrelated question. Now that Disney is buying Fox, and will finally have rights to all of the movies, do you think that we may finally see a new release of the non-special edition original trilogy? May the force be with you, Brian in Indy
32 | Amber writes: I liked this more than The Force Awakens. It felt more like a spiritual successor to Empire Strikes Back without mirroring it super closely. The comedy seemed slightly off putting but not so much that it took me out and it didn't drag the beats out longer than necessary. Does Rey have something like Psychometry? She got visions when touching the light saber, she dreamt of the island where Luke was, she saw something when she and Kylo reached out through the Force. Not sure how I feel about the Rey/Kylo chatting through the force and can see each other but not surroundings bit, though it did sort of pave the way for Luke's presence in the Crait sequences. Was really hoping that they wouldn't suddenly teleport via the Force because that would have ended everything for me right there. Snoke takes credit for manipulating her but was he manipulating her vision or Kylo's or both? I wonder if the Rey/Kylo connection was forged when he tried to read her mind and she pushed back creating some sort of something between them that's not normal between Force users. I think Kylo dropped the info about her parents just to get her to join him, there's more to the story than what he claims to have seen. Also really appreciated the 'certain point of view' in the three tellings of Luke/Ben's last night before Luke's Jedi Temple burned. OH one more thing, the scene where Holdo jumps to lightspeed and the movie goes silent, the entire theater went silent. No rustling in seats or of drinks/popcorn/wrappers. 8 | JFDubeau I predict the very boring and predictable ‘Rei falls to the Dark Side and get trained by Kylo’. Probably with the ‘shocking’ killing of Luke by Rei. Y’know, Siths killing their masters and all that. A little too by-the-numbers for my taste. What I’d WANT to see: Yeah, yeah… have Luke say he can’t train Rei and she leaves to seek her training from Kylo but as they train together HE’s the one who starts to fall for the Light Side. However, since this is the middle movie, it has to end with the Dark Night of the Soul to finish the second Act. We know Leia kinda has to die (for the saddest reasons) and I can totally see her sacrificing herself to save her son/children? (depending on Rei’s heritage). Either standing between them and Snoke and perhaps having Luke be part of the problem as he keeps Kylo or Rei from helping Leia. So you lose a key character, you load up a ton of guilt on Luke and you set up a very uneasy beginning to the third movie with Luke not being on board with Rei and Kylo’s aligeance being very questionable. Etc. But it’s going to be the first one. Unfortunately. JF
9 | |||
10 | @nancipants I've been trying not to speculate too much, but I'm really starting to think that Rey somehow leaves Ahch-To alone and Luke and Chewie chase after her in the Falcon. @SR_Chep A little part of me thinks Rey is somehow a Palpatine. Which would fit in the whole Skywalker/Palpatine battle of the original trilogy and add a nice twist that their force alignments are now reversed. @Bigbellzer Luke’s the big bad
11 | "moolacool I predict that Rey and Kylo will have a juxtaposed training montage reminiscent of Luke in empire strikes back where with a peace vs anguish duality. Rey will be faced with the same decision Luke did in Empire, stay and complete your training or go help your friends, but unlike yoda, Luke will go along for the ride Finn will go through futuristic rehab from a spinal cord injury, maybe some cool cybernetics. Poe & Finn will go on a reckless (and unsanctioned) mission together to foil the New Order. Captain phasma will return as the ""boots to the ground"" nemesis and turn the tables on Resistance and end the movie with the New Order seeming to have the upper hand. I CANT WAIT TO FIND OUT HOW WRONG I AM!!!!!!!!!! "
12 | Jeff from Maine Hey LTASW Crew, I would like to get out a few quick thoughts before The Last Jedi arrives, 1. Rey is a Skywalker, that is my prediction. There are many reasons I believe this, but the most important: it is the easiest story to tell. All of the other thoeries out there (e.g. Rey is a Kenobi or Palpatine) are great for die hard fans, but I think it is diservice to harken back to characters who have not had any screen presence in this new triology. Good storytelling keeps pushing forward and Rey being a Skywalker keeps us in the moment. 2. I am really excited that Rian Johnson is getting to do a totally new triology. One of the problems I have with the Star Wars universe is that is can feel small. Lucas Studios has a whole galaxy to play with and its seems to focus on just a small portion of it, so I am glad that someone is taking a shot at something we haven't seen before. 3. Lastly, this will be the first time I get to take my daughter to see a Star Wars movie in the theater. I have taken my son to the last two moives and now my daughter is old enough to go. So the three of us will be there opening night wearing our Star Wars shirts and I think I am more excited about sharing that experience with them than I am for the movie. Keep up the good work and looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the movie, Jeff from Maine @disciple_jeff on Twitter

19 | Take with a grain of salt but Hollywod Reporter have sources claiming knowledge as to Trevorrow's ousting: Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that script issues have continued to be the continuing sore spot with Episode IX’s development with Trevorrow having had repeated stabs at multiple drafts. In August, Jack Thorne, the British scribe who wrote the upcoming Julia Roberts-Jacob Tremblay movie Wonder, was tapped to work on the script. Sources say that the working relationship between Trevorrow and Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy became unmanageable. Kennedy, who had already been through one director firing/replacement on the Han Solo spin-off, was not eager for a sequel and tried to avoid this decision.
20 | -- | ||
21 | Quote of the century that fills Jennie w/ a certain amount of glee: “There’s one gatekeeper when it comes to Star Wars and it’s Kathleen Kennedy,” says a veteran movie producer, who has worked with the studio chief. “If you rub Kathleen Kennedy the wrong way — in any way — you’re out. You’re done. A lot of these young, new directors want to come in and say, ‘I want to do this. I want to do that.’ A lot of these guys — Lord and Miller, Colin Trevorrow — got very rich, very fast and believed a lot of their own hype. And they don’t want to play by the rules. They want to do shit differently. And Kathleen Kennedy isn’t going to fuck around with that.”

32 | -Shawn in Houston - Guys and gal I love your podcast. But I have to totally disagree with something . Especially with Jennie. I am getting very tired of seeing everything around the prequel and original film era version of star wars. The universe is just too big and too old to stick around this era. No Obi-Wan Kenobi spin off , no Bubba Fett, etc. Why can't we go back 1000 years before when Yoda was a new Jedi. The republic looked different back then . Or even a few thousand years back when Darth Revan was a thing. ( we found out he was cannon during one of the rebels episodes). . I think we are too saturated around the era we are now. Thanks y'all, keep up the good work,

3 | Steven Dodds: Hey, I just discovered your show! Listening to ep 2 now. I do not know if you talked about these theories or not in any episodes, nor do I know if anyone else has ever thought about them. But these are a couple things I’ve pondered for some time now. Snoke is Ezra Bridger from Rebels gone bad? My gut just says it, I don’t know how this next season will pan out. That new toy of Snoke has blue eyes, and so does Ezra Bridger... Rey is Han and Leia’s kid who was taken by someone (perhaps Snoke) as a baby. And that tore the family apart even pushing Kilo to Snoke. (She is his little sister) this is kind of based on the talk between Han and Leia where they mention something tragic happened before they separated. And how Leia hugs Ray, there is maybe some thought going on there. It took Leia time to figure out Luke was her brother, so maybe... |

7 | Rob Wynne : Oh, c'mon. You all know that we *really* want to see a David Lynch directed movie about the rise of Jabba the Hutt. |

9 | I have to say that although I liked TFA I'm not really a fan of JJ. I find that his "cheese" threshold is a little wider than mine. And he tends to ignore logic in some cases just to get a scene he wants. Why did everyone run outside at Maz's cantina to see the planets explode? And why where they even close enough to see the planet? Why did R2 suddenly decide to wake up. In Star Trek, the interior of the engineering section looked cool (brewery) but it's waaay to big to fit inside the ship there showed me. And how could Spock be close enough on the ice moon to see Vulcan turn into a black hole, but far enough away that the ice moon didn't get sucked in?
But the director choices for Last Jedi and Han Solo (Ron Howard) give me hope. I like that these directors are mainly known for 'serious' movies. And will most likely be better at making things make sense. PS. I really hope they get C3PO right in the next movie. If you go back to the OT, he is neurotic and a little annoying, but still smart. However, the prequels and TFA have him acting like a clueless bumbling moron. And even his cameo in Rogue One was a tiny bit too 'clueless' in my opinion. Thanks for the show, Dave Fuller from Canadia |

34 | Wayne writes: Hey there LTASW gang - In a tweet from Dave Filoni on July 6th, it was revealed Ahsoka and Bendu have a conversation prior to her departure with Ezra and Kanan to Malachor and her confrontation with Vader. Many articles have referenced it, for example, Screen Rant. There are many potential discussion points, but the parts that interest me the most are: "much will change ... including you" and "So I will die? Will you? I didn't know that". Of course I am biased, and I don't want Ahsoka to be alive just to die in the last season. I personally like the idea she will reach another level within the force. Could there be a middle ground between life and death for force users granted by special circumstances, maybe one of which is being a "gray" Jedi? Bendu seems to be already at this level and he describes himself as the "center of the Force between the light and the dark side" - which sound pretty darn gray to me. What do you guys think of Ahsoka "The Ascended"? And if this is a concept introduced into new canon, what could this mean for Luke, Rey and Kylo?

40 | And Chris Roy writes: Greetings from the Outer Rim city known as Orlando, a wretched hive of scum and humidity. On your most recent episode you lamented about not knowing when comics release for sale through comixology and I've come to help. Comics are solicited to the direct market comic shops three months before publication so stores can gauge interest and adjust orders to meet demands, so if you're a brick and mortar store goer you can ask your local shop for a copy of Previews which is basically a giant catalog of all the comics and related goods coming out in three months from now. Online comixology offers the same kind of system at https://pulllist.comixology.com/ an online version of the catalog that features the solicitation info which includes release dates and preview images. You can search by release date, month, or title and add books to your "pulllist" and purchase them directly through the site via your comixology account. Hopefully this helps you keep your comic habit on schedule and makes it easier to keep everything straight. | https://pulllist.comixology.com/
41 | Tiffany Rogers writes: I've had 2 theories/thoughts about the new movies I'd love to get your opinions on.
First, since you started I've been meaning to say, why couldn't Rey be both a Skywalker AND a Kenobi? Seriously, if Obi Wan had a daughter, surely Luke would have looked her up. I think it's a bit over the top, but I think it should definitely be in there as a possibility. Second, Tom got me thinking after talking about possible misleads in the new trailer. In 7, when Han tells the new hotness about one student killing the others, are we certain it's Kylo Ren? That's what I've assumed, but could it be a mislead, maybe it was Snoke or some weirdness?

43 | Kevin Walden writes: Ok, so I know that there have been hundreds of theory's on who Rey's parents are since before Episode VII came out. But Daisy has said in interviews that she thought that the movie showed who Rey's parents are. Plural. Both parents. It's someone we know. Not Luke and someone (Mara Jade, sorry Jennie), or Obi Wan and someone, or Palpatine and someone. So we know both parents. And unless Leia and Lando got busy, I believe Leia and Han are her mom and dad and she was hidden because her brother went guano crazy. I believe that's why Carrie Fisher is going to have a bigger role in Episode XIII.
Just another theory. http://www.slashfilm.com/reys-parents-the-force-awakens/ Thanks, Kevin in Georgia

46 | xtreemachine writes: In episode 14, Garrett mentioned how they decided not to do a scene where they had a Force Ghost that phased between Vader and Anakin. When he mentioned it, I immediately remembered the scene in Twilight of the Apprentice where Ahsoka slashes Vader’s Mask. And with that symbolism of her having cracked the prison that is the Vader suit, we were able to see a glimpse of the little bit of Anakin that was still alive inside Vader. In the form of being able to hear the voice of Clone Wars Anakin (Matt Lanter) being heard in conjunction with that of James Earl Jones’. Hearing Lanter's voice coming out of Vader was one of the many powerful scenes in Twilight of the Apprentice. It’s cool to hear that Twilight took another aspect of Force Awakens, the other being Vader’s words of “Anakin Skywalker was weak. I destroyed him” being a direct parallel of Kylo Ren’s “He was weak and foolish like his father, so I destroyed him”. Like Jennie saying she could probably talk for an hour about Twin Suns, I could probably talk for an hour about Twilight of the Apprentice, which I think is the best piece of Star Wars media released under Disney. I actually like it better than Force Awakens and Rogue One. Just got into your show and enjoy it whenever you talk about Rebels.
47 | Jeff from Maine writes: I found it interesting that the trailer for the final season of Rebels did not show any footage of Ashoka Tano. Do you think her story will be concluded in this upcoming season? Or will she get her own project, and if so what would that project look like? Her own animation series, another book or perhaps a movie? I have always followed the Ashoka storyline with a certain amount of dread since seemed like it needed to end with a confrontation with Vader, but maybe not? Thanks for the show,

However in season 2, episode 18 - Shroud of Darkness Kanan fights the force illusions of the old temple guard to protect ezra. In the end he gives up his fight and submits that he understands that Ezra must find his own way through the coming darkness. At that point the force ghosts of the head temple guard reveals himself to have been the one who fell and became the grand inqusitor, and then grants Kanan the rank of jedi knight. So, Kanan is in fact a genuine jedi going forward. He may I guess train Ezra to become a jedi for real as well. That just leaves Ahsoka, and her status is up to her own conscience. 42 | Tim Watson writes: It was just announced that John Forgeham died at the age of 75 on March 10th. It's possible that his name means nothing to you and it's probably pointless to mention that he was in the original Italian Job movie or a star of the early 2000s UK TV series Footballers' Wives. However he had one of the most important bit parts in Star Wars. It was probably only a day's work for him, you don't really see his face and even he was never sure whether he was supposed to be Lieutenant Hija or Captain Bolvan. All his character (it was Captain Bolvan) says in "A New Hope" is "Hold your fire. There are no life forms. It must have short-circuited" (even that was over-dubbed by someone else). Without that line you don't have a movie, you don't have Star Wars (unless it's the further adventures of newly-promoted Admiral Bolvan). In one of the commentary tracks to the DVDs of his TV series Spaced, Simon Pegg talks about meeting John Forgeham and mentioning his place in Star Wars history. So pour one out for John Forgeham and thank him his part in making Stars Wars.

The emperor could have had a side project to create a new super warrior but it had an accident that caused the scar & prevented it from being physically powerful but was mentally superior. Also, do we want to know who Snoke is in Episode VIII or wait until Ep IX?

35 | Hey guys, In relation to your discussion about why The Empire would blow up their own archives on Scarif; My impressions were that it was entirely about Tarkin taking advantage when gaining the perfect excuse to rid himself of Krennic. He made the decision to 'fire when ready' and probably would've taken the risk regardless of potential consequences for losing the facility. Love all the shows! Cheers, Matt Cavanough
36 | |||
37 | Hey guys, love the show. Just a small thing that made me sit up in my seat while watching the film. That moment when Organa says he'll contact his friend from the clone wars, I could have sworn he says 'she', not 'he' referring to Obi Wan. So unless he was referring to Leia, could this have been a Ahsoka Tano reference? I could be wrong though. Cheers. Webby.
38 | |||
39 | To start, I'd like to say that I love your podcast! I've been immersing myself in the Star Wars Universe by reading every book I can find, and listening to your podcast is a wonderful bonus. I want to ask if any of you have read the first Han Solo trilogy book called The Paradise Snare? It's pretty good, but (without spoilers), I'd like to bring up some funny easter eggs found in that book. First, and most obviously, one of the aliases Han Solo uses is Jenos Idanian, an anagram for Indiana Jones. Second, less obvious and kind of tin hatty, appears in chapter 13. Han and his love interest meet with Truthful Toryl's at his Used Spaceship Lot on Tralus. Han creates aliases for himself and the woman he's with. He calls her Kyloria m'Bal. A few pages later (like 3 pages), you meet her father, who's name is Renn Tharen. Putting these together and fudging the words a bit, you get Kylo Ren. Seems too weird for a coincidence? This book was released in 1997, well before The Force Awakens. Thoughts? Feelings? DISCUSS!! Thanks a bunch, you're all awesome. Orlando Whitehall

19 | Jeff Ganong writes: Just saw Rogue One with my 8 year old son last night and we both loved it but I have two thoughts/questions regarding the movie. First, I don't think I am a fan of the use of CGI for two certain characters. I think I would've rather had the movie go the Mon Mothma route for those two as well and trust the audience to make the leap in their minds. Second, do all of these fan service cameos (Saw Gerrera, Ponda Baba, Doctor Evazan, etc) make this galaxy feel more like a small state? Love the show and keep up the good work!
20 | |||
21 | Brian in Indy writes: Hey Guys, I just wanted to say that I LOVED Rogue one. It may very well be my favorite Star Wars movie thus far. Certainly better than the prequels, and equal to if not better than the Force Awakens. This is my opinion, of course. :) I did have one observation though. Did any of you have a sense of deja vu in the third act? I did when I watched a character played by Alan Tudyk fly our heroes to a tower. Our main character goes to make a transmission while the rest of them hold off hordes of bad guys? Obviously the characters fates are different (mostly). But I thought that was interesting. Not a complaint, just an observation.
22 | |||
23 | Tim Watson writes: I enjoyed this movie but I've been hearing some rather sniffy reviews from one or two film podcasts. The most negative of these reviews seemed to come from people who haven't realised that the film is supposed to remind you of the first trilogy because, chronologically, "A New Hope" starts a few hours after this film ends. It looks like people are complaining most about the depiction of Grand Moff Tarkin in this movie. I would agree that he doesn't look right especially when moving. A shame is that the man doing the voice, Guy Henry, is a very good actor (I've seen him almost 20 times on stage), looks a bit like Peter Cushing and could have been made up to look more like him. Another disconnect, which my familiarity with Guy Henry especially doesn't help, is that the Peter Cushing "mask" doesn't reflect the way that the words are being said. Oddly the actor Angus Wright (seen him about 10 times on stage), who played the Commander of the hammerhead corvette might, I reckon, have been a better facial and vocal match for Grand Moff Tarkin. Also I like the trend of the new Star Wars movies using distinguished older British actresses in odd small roles. We had (Dame) Harriet Walter as the doctor in Force Awakens and Geraldine James as Blue Three, saying one line and (possibly) exploding in Rogue One. Geraldine James first came to prominence in the 80s British TV series Jewel in the Crown. More recently she has featured in the "Bitty" sketches in the BBC show Little Britain. While on the subject of TV stuff that Rogue One's Blue Squadron actors have done, I noticed Simon Farnaby playing Blue Five. It is worth catching him (if you can) in the vaguely educational kids series Horrible Histories and also Yonderland. Regards

25 | Christopher Davenport writes: Hi guys really enjoy the show. I realize next episode will be mainly about Rogue One, But I thought you may be interested in a little Thrawn news. On Audible I saw tht there will be a new Thrawn book by Timothy Zahn released in April. Pretty damn cool in my opinion.
26 | |||
27 | Billy writes, Hi Podcast people, My friends have a theory that Kylo and Rey will switch sides by the end of the movie. Then focusing Episode IX on Rey's, and not Kylo's, redemption and return to the light side. Have you heard anything like this in all your travels? Personally I don't think they have a leg to stand on but at this point all theories are valid and can all be equally wrong. Keep up all the great stuff! May the force be with you

12 | SO. Instead of reading you ALL the emails we got about how Obi Wan knew Anakin was Darth Vader, I'm just gonna say, uh, WE DIDN'T KNOW, OK? But thanks to Tony Glass, James Payne, Rob Morgan, Timothy Chaten, THE Quincy Jones, Brock Smith, Alex Grieve, (ous) Jesse Virgil, Jim Willis, Kent Fellure, & Brian South for letting us know ALL the different ways that Anakin knew about Obi-Wan
13 | 1) It's in the damned movie: Obi-Wan views the security footage in Revenge of the Sith and sees Anakin killing the younglings and Sidious christen him Lord Vader.
14 | 2) James Payne says: Possibly also, If I remember correctly, in the novelization of revenge of the sith, Obi-Wan sees a holovid at a cantina and sees Darth Vader, and then he realizes that Anakin in survived. I'm like 95% sure, it's been awhile since I read that one.
15 | 3) Jesse Virgil: During season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka learns first-hand about Vader's true identity. Though Ahsoka's fate from the season finale remains unknown, I think it's fair to say that she's been in contact with Obi Wan. If she hasn't told Obi Wan during the arc of the second season, and she does survive her encounter with Anakin/Vader, then it's very likely she'll alert him at some point.

I am a longtime Star Wars fan often called an old soul by those around me becuase I read every single EU now legends novel and am still having a somewhat hard time letting go of the EU. I have a question which pertains to that. I will preface this by saying I haven't read Dark Disciple. I am wondering if becuase of both the Asajj Ventress story at the end of Clone Wars and the current Asako Tano story in Rebels you think that Dave Filoni has unofficially brought back Grey Jedi in Star Wars canon. I know it really shouldn't matter but I just crave for anything from legends to be brought back in the new Expanded Universe. To me both these characters fit the mold of Legends Grey Jedi in varying degrees. There is no Dark Side, nor a Light Side There is Only the Force I will do what I must to keep the balance The balance is what keeps me together There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish There is passion, Yet peace Serenity, Yet emotion Chaos, yet order I am the wielder of the flame, the protector of balance I am the holder of the torch, lighting the way I am the keeper of the flame, soldier of balance I am a guardian of balance I am a Gray Jedi Interested to know what you think maybe I'm just seeing something that's not really there becuase I want it to be true so badly. The podcast is great, keep it up.

27 | Tim Watson wrote us with some thoughts on the Rogue One trailer Firstly, as some people will have pointed out there's a couple of shots filmed in Canary Wharf underground station in the trailer. They might have covered up the escalators, the seats and the train indicators, but it is so clearly Canary Wharf station. As I travel to and from this station every day, for work, I am a little worried that the scene will jolt me out of the final film, because it did in the trailer. The other thing is a realisation that made me think of at outlandish and unlikely Star Wars conspiracy theory. They appear to be stealing the Death Star plans form the Death Star itself. But we've already seen a talented and slightly ditsy Astro-Mech droid hacking into the Death Star computer. Couldn't it have stolen the the Death Star plans while it was closing down the trash compactors? Maybe it took so long to close down the compactors because Artoo was too busy stealing those plans. Were we lied to at the beginning of New Hope? Was that opening roll a piece of New Republic propaganda? Did the Rogue One mission fail? Why was the Tantive IV out of hyperspace over Tattooine? Was Leia planning recruit Obi-Wan Kenobi for a backup Rogue Two mission which was being assembled on Alderaan? Were they hoping that Obi-Wan would be able to use his Jedi mind-trickery to smuggle Artoo aboard the Death Star? Will the truth ever be told?

29 | Blake Stadnik writes: I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with this theory, but I thought of it as soon as I saw the Rogue One trailer and I had to share it with my favorite Star Wars podcast. Is Jyn Ray's mom??? Here are the parts of the trailer that lead me to this question. 1. Jyn seems to be the correct age; approximately the same as Luke in ep. 4 2. She has the same accent as Ray 3. Jyn fights with a staff in part of the trailer 4. (This is the big one) She has a very strong Mara Jade quality! a. She appears at the end of the trailer in an imperial uniform. This is meant to make us believe she turns to the empire, but I believe this is actually a scene from early in the film; which means she defects from the empire just like Mara Jade. b. She also seems like the kind of character that might leave her daughter on a deserted planet like Jaku That's all I have so far! Love the show and thank you for all you create.

17 | If short on time Tim writes in with an awesome tidbit: Hi, There were lots of things that pleased me about The Force Awakens. One of them was a small scene featuring a doctor treating Chewbacca. The doctor is played by Harriet Walter or Dame Harriet Walter as she is known in some quarters. She is mainly a theatre actress and last year was on (or Off) Broadway playing Henry IV in an all-female version of Shakespeare's Henry IV plays (http://stannswarehouse.org/show/henry-iv/ ). She does a fair bit of film and TV work in the UK but nothing you could easily point out. It was an incongruous, comic and possibly unnecessary little scene but it made the smile that the film was putting on my face, even wider. Something to look out for is a UK Channel 4 series called Toast of London. The first season of this extremely strange comedy series about a jobbing actor (and co-written by one of the writers of Father Ted) has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance by a certain Daisy Ridley. The series is well worth looking out for and catching if it is streaming anywhere.

19 | If time to discuss another theory Mailman Morgan wrote us an awesome email packed with theories, here's my (jennie) favorite: Let me start by saying that I am ecstatic about this podcast! "At last, we will reveal ourselves to the podcast. At last, we will have some friends." - me Theories: Expansion of Force powers In the opening scene of TFA, Kylo Ren "stops a blaster bolt with the force!" I disagree. If that was true, it would hold no momentum. It would also (I assume) dissipate fairly quickly. KYLO REN CAN CONTROL TIME!!! That is the only explanation I can think of. I think he locked the bolt in time somehow. It explains why he doesn't need to continue focusing on it, as well as the physics. According to legend, Jacen Solo learned rare Force techniques, some out which had to do with time. One such ability was "Flow waking", where the user could experience and observe events of the past. "Dear grandpa. Show me the dark side please? In darkness and dispare, Ben" Is he talking to himself? Maybe. Is he talking to Vaders Force ghost? No. Anakin was redeemed and his Ghost returned to the light to have awkward hangouts with Yoda. Was he using the Force to experience the darkest moments of his grandfather's life? I think so.

4 | Hey Star Wars fans! My Dad asked me this question this weekend and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Does Chewie stay with the Millennium falcon? Does Ray? Are they BFFs now? 7 | Just wanted to know your thoughts on Chewbacca purposefully shooting Kylo Ren in the hip and not killing him. This was his best friends son, and he had to know that, right? I imagine him knowing Ben from when he was little, and he didn't kill him because of this. Every other shot Chewbacca takes after that, he is dead on. Did he miss Kylo Ren, or wound him on purpose? Further more, what do you think Ben's thoughts were when he gets hit from Chewbacca's bow? He had to know Chewbacca as his dad's best friend as well. Everything in that scene just seemed incredibly deliberate to me. And the fact that Cheebacca stuck around with Rey is really interesting. Love the show, Chris

12 | Ezra Bridger? | Another Ezra Bridger theory
13 | Greetings Jennie, Garrett and Tom, Just a few thoughts about force ghosts . . . First, somewhere I've read some speculation that the spirit (force ghost) of the sith tend to haunt (occupy?) places or things, while Jedi (light side) tend to favour people . . . So, it is possible that by hold Darth Vader's helmet Kylo is able to get a vision (much like Ren's when she first grasps the lightsaber) and why he returns to it for guidance and direction. Second, all the force ghosts in the movies only appear to Luke. So what if there is a requirement that there a strong connection between the ghost and the person to whom the ghost appears? Qui Gon would have a strong connection with Obi Won . .. Obi Won would have a strong connection to Luke. Yoda would have forged a strong connection to Luke. By the end of Return of the Jedi, Anakin/Vader would have had a strong connection to Luke. But none of those connections exist with Kylo Ren so no force ghost can appear to him to help guide him . . . So, after my family and I saw The Force Awakens (10 year old twin daughters, my wife and myself) we spent our Sunday morning breakfast of French toast and bacon discussing theories about the movie (clearly one of the proudest geek-dad moments of my life!). One theory we came up with I have not heard before . . . What about Ezra Bridger from Star Wars Rebels? He would be about the right age and having seen what the Empire is trying to do with force sensitive children, would be very wary about his daughter and be eager to hide her away somewhere. Plus, it would very nicely cement Rebels into the Star Wars canon . . . I have some thoughts about the direction of Star Wars Rebels and how this might reveal the identity of Snoke, but I will save them for another time . . . To the best of my knowledge, no Bothans died to bring you this . .. - Chris Kuchynski | Greetings Celestial Combat Conversers, This is my crackpot theory on who Rey's parents are: Ezra Bridger and Leah Organa are Rey's parents. Did you see the recent episode of Star Wars Rebels that featured Princess Leah Organa? There were some serious fireworks between the two characters. Clearly, at some future point in the storyline, they hook up and produce a female progeny. But since that type of behavior is unbefitting of an Adleranian princess, the child is abandoned on the desert planet of Jakku. I know what your thinking: Rey is clearly too fair of completion to be Ezra's daughter. The explanation is simple, though. Vitiligo. It happened to Michael Jackson, it could happen to Rey Organa-Bridger as well. My son and I love the new podcast. Keep 'em coming please. May the force be with you, always, Demian

15 | Love the show guys! Wanted to share this with you and get your thoughts. After 6 viewings and countless discussions with several of my friends I have come to this conclusion. This all hinges on the flashback scene we see in the Force Awakens. I think these are memories that Luke has spoken to Rey or Rey witnessed herself. We begin with the hallway on Cloud City which I think is a story Rey has recalled hearing. We then see someone looking at Luke speaking to R2. I believe this is Luke leaving to go find the first Jedi temple. We then cut to someone looking up at a figure about to strike down on them before a red light saber goes through their chest. We then see a close up of Kylo Ren before we go out to a wider view of the knights of Ren. Then Rey is being given to Unkar Platt and the ship takes off. I think everything in that scene is from her point of view. I believe Rey was training with Luke and Ben and the other new Jedi at some point. I think at this time whether due to familial ties or ties of friendship Ben and Rey formed a bond. A bond so strong that when he was ordered to massacre the New jedi, he saved Rey from being killed. He stabs that person with the lightsaber as they are about to strike Rey. Then knowing that his sentiment, which Snoke openly says in the novelization caused Vader to fall, he had the girl hidden. He allowed someone to take her to Jakku, drop her off, then kill said person or he simply dropped her off himself and wiped her mind. Rey knows this possible person was killed but has refused to admit it. Maz in fact says she knows. Then when Kylo finds out BB-8 has escaped with a girl from Jakku, he very visibly shows a moment of panic. His greatest shame could be coming back to haunt him. He isn't sure until she pulls the light saber in the snow, when in the novelization, he says to himself " It is you". Luke has no idea Rey is still alive as he was gone during the massacre. That adds to his shame of the fall of Ben. That's part of the look on his face. A look of recognition. He does in fact know her. He was training her. Whether she is his daughter or just a girl is unclear at this point. But I feel the connection between Rey and Ben will be the catalyst of conflict for the next 2 films. I have more hole filling thoughts and examples of the connection to this theory but this email is long enough. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Jaxson Howard

17 | Is Rey a clone? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
18 | Hey fellow Star Wars nerds! I'm hoping this doesn't come up at the end of episode two, because I just paused the show with a thought inspired by something that was brought up about Rey's parents. Tom said something to the effect of Darth Vader had a child AFTER becoming Darth Vader, and Jennie got grossed out. BUT.... Not all children come about in the traditional organic way. What if Rey is a clone? Of course that could only be possible if you can accept the idea that a clone doesn't have to be the same gender as person the DNA is copied from. And while I'm definitely not smart enough to know if that's even possible, I have two ideas about how that could work with the story. Firstly, after Empire Strikes Back, someone tracks down Luke's hand (along with his lightsaber) and begins genetic testing to figure out if it's possible to clone a Jedi. It takes a few years because no one has ever tried to clone a force use, but they finally find success. About that time, the First Order starts making a splash on the galaxy and Kylo Ren kills the new generation of force users, leading the scientists who created Rey to hide her away because they've become emotionally attached to her. To top that off, maybe Lor San Tekka is the one behind it. To protect Rey from discovering her power and becoming a target, he gives the lightsaber to Maz Kanata because she is also a member of the Church of Force. Ok, might be stretching a bit with that last part. Second possibility, Vader decides to have himself cloned after he realized that Luke won't be turned to the dark side, and he would still need help to overthrow the Emperor. So he swabs his cheek with a q-tip and gives it to his secret team of scientists and they set to work creating a genetic replica of Vader. Sadly, they aren't successful until after his death, but they continue their work believing that the galaxy needs more Vader. Rebels discover the plan and steal Rey while she's just a child and hide her on Jakku so that Snoke can't find her. When she finally confronts Luke at the end of the movie, he shows a look of confusion and sadness when he realizes that he's sensing the presence of his father in the girl before him. I apologize that this email got so long, and I should mention that I actually believe she's Luke's daughter, but I just thought it would be fun to hear you guys talk about the idea. Love the show! darylinohio | Jennie's thoughts : I mean, Kylo Ren does have that line abhout "maybe we should have used the clones" leading to - WHAT CLONES? Old New Zealand accent clones? or new clones?

20 | Nyuuron has an interesting theory about a Jedi with a special talent from a Clone Wars spinoff
21 | Howdy Troopers, I've only seen the Force Awakens movie once myself so far, but I reached a very different conclusion about what was going on after Rey touched Luke's light saber, and I'm pretty sure I was at a very particular crossroads to find this conclusion so here it goes: I was reading the Christie Golden's book Star Wars: Dark Disciple at about the time I got to see the movie. (If you haven't read it yet, don't worry I'm not going to spoil much, as you learn most of this in the first few chapters.) One of the protagonists, Quinlin Voss, is a Jedi with a special talent he calls 'psychometry'. Voss can touch an object and witness the past of said object, similar to a flashback. While I can't explain exactly how she would have acquired this, if Rey has this particular talent, it would explain how she could witness events and hear voices of people she herself was not familiar with. I would just mark this up to coincidence, however, Dark Disciple was based off a script from the cancelled final season of the Clone Wars series, so I believe it would be canonical to the current movie universe. Anyway, would love to hear any thoughts on this. May the Force be with you, Nyuuron

25 | Jon Jagger has good observations about Kylo Ren's force powers | Also this:
26 | Kylo Ren's Powers One of the things I find most fascinating about Kylo Ren isn't how powerful he is or isn't, but the way he uses the force itself. Darth Vader liked choking people with the force. The Emperor and Dooku liked shooting lightning. What makes Kylo Ren interesting is his force powers all seem to be light side in nature, but used for evil. He doesn't force choke someone, he force pulls them into his hand and physically does it. He doesn't zap you with lightning he freezes you in place passively. "A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack." Well we see twists on these defensive moves that lead to attacks and the only other force power we see is his ability to read minds. He does it intrusively, but Jedi sense information for the light side all the time. I'm not sure if there is a great meaning behind this, but I find it interesting that the character so afraid to fall to the light is using traditionally good force powers for evil. | Light and Dark Anakin One of the fuzzier bits of Star Wars canon is The Old Republic era of stories. Disney has been a little hesitant to completely write it off, but also wont confirm any of it either. We've seen Old Republic era stuff slide its way into canonical Clone Wars cartoons so it's a viable well for sure. One of the more interesting characters and stories to come out of this era is the saga of Darth Revan. He is featured mostly in the games Knights of the Old Republic and the MMO The Old Republic. I mention Revan because in The Old Republic Revan (as a Jedi) attempts to build an army to destroy the Sith emperor. He is killed in what equates to a raid in game and seems to become one with the force. Later an extremely angry scarred Revan reappears trying to now destory the Sith and the Republic. To make things more complicated you get aid from Revan's force ghost in fighting him. Ultimately it is revealed that Revan's strength in both the light and the dark have perfectly fractured him. The lightside gave into his death and joined the force, but the dark greedily lingered and fought on. With all this talk of would Anakin's force ghost be good or bad I figured it might be something to think about. It is not outside the real of the EU to have a character fracture and exist as both a light and dark entity.

28 | Scott Odle has a question about lightsabers:
29 | Why were the lightsabers in The Force Awakens weaker than in the previous episodes? People were getting whacked left and right with lightsabers and no one got anything lopped off. They couldn't even seem to cut through metal like we've seen in the past so many times. Fin gets sabered hard in the back and is not split in two. Thery seems more like regular metal swords that glow than laser swords. Any theories?
30 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
31 | Drew in Atlanta has some interesting thoughts about Kylo and Rey
32 | So here's my theory: Kylo Ren, under the command of Snoke, was instructed to kill all Luke's trainees, but he can't bring himself to kill Rey. Maybe she's a cousin? Maybe she's just young and innocent? So he stops her would-be attacker, and knowing that Snoke is going to be angered by this he hides Rey on Jakku and uses his Force powers to suppress parts of her memory assuming that this will be more than enough to claim her to be dead to Snoke but not have her blood on his hands. Lor San Teka could have found her during his search for Luke but never made his presence obvious to her for her own safety. Or he's the one who taught her all about the heroes of the Rebellion but was careful not to tell her too much. The truth, but from a certain point of view, if you will. I know the novelization goes in to some more detail about her life on Jakku but I don't know how much of that can be considered solid canon. This would explain a couple of things for me, namely that Luke isn't a deadbeat dad! He just thought she was dead so he never thought to go looking. Even Vader didn't know he had kids until one of them blew up a space station after all. It also explains why Rey is suddenly so well versed in what I would think are more advanced Force techniques like the mind trick so quickly. She gets an initial flood of information from touching Anakin/Luke's saber, but she doesn't start to actively use the Force until after Kylo goes digging in her head for where the map is. Then she's suddenly mind-tricking Daniel Craigtrooper and force-pulling lightsabers across snowy forests. Her training had already begun before the academy was decimated, and with Kylo entering her mind a second time he undoes some of his initial work and her FORCE powers start to AWAKEN. Or I'm wrong, which is entirely likely, but at least I'll get some great movies to tell me how it really happened! Thanks for taking the time to read, love the show! - Drew in Atlanta

34 | Kevin Douglas has the simplest theory on who Rey is:
35 | Re: Ray’s Lineage. What if her lineage is new? The force just awakened, and could have awakened a new bloodline. It’s a new set of movies, new ownership, new writers, new heroes… a new bloodline? This would simplify a lot of things and really open up the possibilities for the next two movies. I’d also like to hear your ideas about the very last scene. I think there’s such a huge conversation happening between Luke and Rey and I’d love to hear you guys talk about it. Here’s my rough take: Ray: “take this; help us" Luke: “sorry, I can’t” Ray: “please, you must” Luke: “no, you must take it” Ray: “I can’t… can I?” There’s a lot of implied dialog in those 4 shots. I’d love to hear your take.

37 | And Eric Schwartz (may the schwartz be with you) concurs:
38 | I don't think I have much justification for this one, but I don't see why she needs to be a Skywalker (or even a Kenobi) for her origin to be satisfying. Consider that the Jedi were gone for so long that Luke was probably starting off training Force-sensitive adults, or at least older teenagers. I like to think that Rey is the daughter of one of Luke's students, perhaps born before the Jedi training camp started-- or maybe Luke isn't continuing the prohibition against relationships, and she was born during it.

43 | Rey's parentage (Tom's theory)
44 | From Kyle: In support of the theory that Rey is Kylo Ren’s daughter, remember the first scene when Kylo Ren meets Lor San Tekka (Max von Sydow)? Kilo states to Lor that “You have grown old”. You could interpret that Kilo, because of dark side, hasn’t aged as fast as Lor. And that Kilo knew Lor “years” ago. Just a thought I had when y’all were discussing this…I’m sure I’m not the first to bring this up…Love the Podcast! Thanks, Kyle Barton | Also add Tom's Endor math which totally disproves the theory

46 | Ryan writes: "Sorry, kids. Kyle and Rey are about 10 years apart according to the official word of Pablo Hidalgo. https://twitter.com/pablohidalgo/status/688861512895561728 That theory was gross. Keep up the good work you all do!"

48 | Matt in the UK writes in with his evidence for Ray's parentage:
49 | I'm gonna stick my neck out and say Rey is definitely Luke's daughter. Reasons: Luke's been missing for approx 15 years and the girl is about 4 in the force vision. Rey is supposed to be 19. I don't think Kylo is protecting her in the same vision. It's just a vision of the knights of Ren killing the Jedi Luke is training. This would mean she is hidden to protect her from Kylo. When R2 is first uncovered c3p0 says that he's been in low power mode since Luke went missing. He powers up when Rey arrives at the resistance base. Luke's been missing for ages and they send Rey (who's only just turned up) to go and get him. Why would you do that unless there's a connection? Just my thoughts. Cheers guys. Matt, UK

Like Jennie I do hope the mother is Mara Jade or possibly at least an analogue to Mara. I also like the Obi-Wan's daughter as her mother theory. if Rey is Luke's daughter and he thought she had been killed (maybe by Kylo). Maybe her mother sacrificed herself to save her but Luke never found out and by the time she was discovered like had already left. That could be shock on his face when he sees her. I think that the Force Vision that Rey has is possibly Luke's, not hers. Almost everything she sees can be explained as coming from Luke's memories, including the quotes from Yoda, Obi-wan and I believe that Palpatine can be heard as well. If Rey is Luke’s part of Kylo’s "fall" could have been jealousy over “believed” preferential treatment of her over him at the academy. Kylo certainly seems like the kind of guy to lash out in jealousy. And linked to this another theory that I I have heard suggested as well, that perhaps Rey is the one apprentice Kylo could not kill at the academy (becuase she is his cousin/sister) and instead wiped her memories himself and placed her on Jakku. This may come back to haunt him as a moment of weakness on his journey to the dark side.

55 | Scott Clay wrote us with lots and lots of theories, but here's one that involves the clone wars | need to paraphrase this
56 | 3. I do have a theory on who Rey could be (just my own thoughts based on ages and existing Canon characters). My theory is that the mother/father (doesn't matter which) of Rey was one of Luke's students who was killed by Kylo Ren and his followers around 23 year after the Battle of Yavin (Ep. IV). I'm then suggesting that this parent was born either 3 years or 8 years before the Battle of Yavin, making her 18 or 23 when having Rey. Looking at the existing Force sensitive characters based on age then, I'm suggesting that person's mother (Rey's Grandmother) is Ahsoka Tano. She would be 28 or 33 when having Rey's parent. This would give Rey her strong Force connection and Canon lineage, and I think makes sense given Ahsoka's rejection of the Jedi council ideals (perhaps including not having relationships). I chose the years to be either a few years before the Rebels series takes place or right after it as Ahsoka plays a role in that. Now the father could logically be Lux Bonteri (love interest for Tano during the Clone Wars series), but taking it a step farther I'm suggesting that the father of this child could instead be Korkie Kryze. Korkie was supposedly the nephew of Satine Kryze, who was a love interest for Obi-Wan Kenobi. He interacted with Ahsoka and makes a lot of sense politically as a love interest for her after adolescence. To further this idea, one could suppose that the mission Obi-Wan and Satine were on together when they fell in love (and were teenagers) resulted in a secret child that Satine needed to protect because of her political enemies. She therefore presents the child as her nephew instead of her son. One last addition. Korkie grows up and eventually learns the truth of his parentage. He also falls in love with Ahsoka and so begins his own study of the Force despite not being Force-sensitive himself. He becomes the leading expert on all Force and Jedi related issues, and with the Empire hunting down all past political enemies he changes his name to Lor San Tekka. He then helps Luke and Leia in their rebuilding of the Republic and searching out new Jedi's for Luke to train after the Empire's fall. To sum up: Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze have a son who Satine hides as her nephew Korkie. Korkie grows up and falls in love with Ahsoka. They have a child who is raised in secret during the reign of the Empire and after it's defeat has a child of his/her own named Rey. After Luke begins training new Jedi they join him and are subsequently killed by Kylo Ren. The surviving parent is hunted down by Ren, but the child is hidden away by her grandfather Korkie, now known as Lor San Tekka. So Rey is granddaughter of Ahsoka Tano, and great-granddaughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

58 | Matt Rogers says: Hey crew love the show. So we all know about how Disney gutted the extended universe of Star Wars and declared them "Legend" canon. We can all agree that this was necessary to tell the stories they are planning to tell. How would you guys react if after episode 9 comes out, Disney declared that episodes 1-3 are no longer canon and they are rebooting those three films with the polish that they have given the new material. I would be all for removing these films from the canon if we got a better version that I was excited to watch. I would love to hear your guys' opinion. Love the show, keep up the good work. | Welp, says Jennie, I think they'd have to wait for George Lucas to become a Force Ghost and then at least a decade after that

60 | Hi Chewie, Solo and Laia, you guys can fight over who is who... Have you guys thought about re watching styar wars with descriptive video or subtitles? Since episode 3 I myself have become b lindand I was scared that I would not be able to enjoy star wars because I couldnt see the effects in the movies. But I have to say, descriptive video made it amazing for me. If anything I actually knew much more of what was happening because they sometimes give you more information then what the viewer who doesnt need discriptive video knows!. To let you know what descriptive video is, its simply what the name means, the video is getting described to you through headphones to give you additional info when you listen to the movie. Great podcast guys, I love all the AMoveTV shows, Richard Harlow AKA Demonic Rick | this would actually be a cool bit to do

62 | Hey Ya Jawas, I was just wondering if any of you have played the StarWars RolePlayingGame? In the RPG there are other force sensitive classes besides the Jedi. If taken into the movies it could explain some of the other characters. Or any of the board games/minis games from Fantasy Flight Games? (Imperial Assult, Xwing, Armada) Love the shows. Thanks Ken

64 | Andrea Duggan: First off - epic, amazing and very studious podcast! I have learned so much form listening, so thanks for that! This theory/question may be a bit to simple; however I thought this was just the place to talk about it. My thought is that BB-8 is the droid baby of R2-D2 and the Death Star. When R2 helps override the main controls in A New Hope, I think this is when R2 retrieves some data DNA. This is why BB-8 is round like the death star and has a dome like R2!! It seems so insignificant to the things you discuss; I hope it doesn't go against my brother Joel's geek level. I am only a padawan and still learning..... Thanks for reading! | Haha I love this! BB-8 and R2 definitely have very similar personalities. They are both cheerful yet capable and very independent, unlike C3P0 so it would make sense if they were somehow related. I'm going to go look up "How Droid Babies Are Made" So glad you enjoy the show! :) JJ

66 | Hello! This is a great podcast, thanks for making it! Sorry about this rambling email, I have a lot of theories! I had another crazy theory about Rey. The movie is pushing that its Luke's daughter (for me, it was when Luke's theme played when she picked up his lightsaber), but since Colin Trevorrow promised a "satisfying" answer, maybe that is too easy. My thought it what if she's a CLONE?? Maybe not a clone of Luke, but of Anakin? And that's why Kylo is afraid of her, because he senses that she's LIKE his grandfather? Another thought I had was if Rey was Luke's daughter, maybe her mother is Captain Phasma! Also, what are your theories of Finn? I feel like he was a bit too good at using the lightsaber against Kylo - wouldn't Kylo be able to force push it right out of Finn's hands? I think Finn has a little bit of Jedi in him too - because he's related to Mace Windu! Now with all these theories about everyone we've seen are somehow related to each other, I kind of lean to Justin Robert Young's way of thinking - Star Wars is about a freaking galaxy and we should hear the stories other than a few choice families in it. But it is fun to speculate! Thanks again! - anotherJmartin | Oh SNAP. I never thought about Mace Windu

68 | Not sure how cannon the video games are, but while playing the Sith Inquisitor play through you run into an ancient sith force ghost. Just thought I'd point you to the wiki since you said there weren't any dark side ghosts http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Aloysius_Kallig JimmyD

70 | Hi Garrett, Jennie, and Tom! I just finished listening to the second episode. In regards to force ghosts, the last season of Clone Wars went into depth regarding this. Basically, (Spoilers) Qui-Gon's spirit guided Yoda to meet the five priestesses and was taught how to become a force ghost. Yoda was then told to teach one other this technique so that when the force becomes unbalanced he would have help balancing it. Yoda ended up teaching Obi-Wan. On the flip side, there are many Sith force ghosts mentioned in the Old Republic. In the game "The Old Republic" that is still going on, there are many sith ghosts and one of the player characters can learn how to eat them for power. FunFact: Revan (which used both sides of the force) lived over 300 years being sustained by a force ghost. Just some fun info. Thanks again for the awesome podcast! -James from always hot Phoenix.

72 | Hi Tom! I am a huge fan of DTNS. Thank you so much for starting this podcast. I love star wars and jump at every chance I get to talk about it with my friends and co-workers. I wanted to send you my theory about Rey and let you and Jennie judge it. Rey is a clone of Anakin made in Kamino as a fail safe for the Emporer if Vader decides to betray him or learns the truth regarding the real death of his "secret wife". Rey was given genic memories and abilities to learn almost instantly after seeing something done. That way by the time she has grown to an adult she would have been a perfect copy of the Emporer. When the clone was completely Palpatine was already dead and Leah/Luke decided it was best to put her in a place that would hide the galaxy from her. Love to hear your thoughts. -James R.

95 | Theory about The Knights of Ren (for future ep)
96 | Mailman Morgan is back with another theory on the the Knights of Ren: Who and what are they? An alternative to the Sith? Why have another order? We already have the dark and the light. But we don't have both together. (Now stay with me here) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kylo_Ren's_lightsaber Kylo Rens lightsaber is of a millennia old design, dating back to the scourge of Malachor (cannon!). An event which is ( legend has it) tied directly to Revan (Kotor 2 and the book Revan have more on this) So after all this time, he just happens to have this lightsaber design from the era of Revan? After so much information was destroyed by the empire? Where did he learn it? A corrupted ancient holocron created by one who identified himself only as "Re**n". Why not create an order from his wisdom of dark and light? The Knights of Ren? Wear masks and cloaks designed on what he wore? Those are just some of my thoughts. Revan is one of the most beloved legendary characters and I imagine Disney is aware of that. "I'm not that into Star Wars, but I love KOTOR" is something I've definitely heard before. Also, Rey is daughter of Leia and Wedge ave Finn is son of Leia and Lando. (B. S. But I don't care)

98 | Who is Anakin's dad and could it factor in to this timeline?
99 | "John M writes in with his theory about Anakin's father: ""So I know that the prequel movies are less than stellar but there was one thing that always struck me as interesting... Who is Anakin's father? Now I know this has been discussed thoroughly and speculation is the ""Jesus theory"" however I haven't found what I believe to be the case anywhere online/in books. In episode 1 (which yes isn't that great) shmi tells Qui-Gon that there was no father and Qui-Gon states that Anakin's midi-chlorian level was higher than even yoda. (I know it's a goofy part of the story but bare with me). In episode 3, palpatine tells anakin about how darth plagueis was able to use the force to influence the midi-chlorians to ""create life"" I believe plagueis is essentially anakins creator and used shmi as a surrogate which is still a very Jesus-y theory but from the darker perspective. I may be wildly off course here but I'd certainly love to hear your thoughts on this theory. I sincerely enjoy the show and will be looking forward to future episodes."""

101 | Joe wrote to me (jennie) on twitter with some thoughts on Mara Jade: "@billybob476 @jenniej23 I love me some Mara Jade but if you go back to the Thrawn trilogy she comes across as pretty whiny #letstalkaboutstarwars @billybob476 lol. I just re-read recently & admit that I was like, 'gurl, roll w the changes' in a few spots. But overall she is RAD. Joe Mastroianni @billybob476 @jenniej23 Yup, completely rad. 103 | Just a general good point from Ice Warm "Mike Boyd sent us this after the Star Wars current geek show, and he raises a simple but excellent point: ""Just saying I agree that we haven't been able to have a speculation conversation about these movies since the originals. In the prequels we wondered about nothing since we either figured out the entire story before the movies came out and with prequels we know how it all ends. We knew Anakin and Padme would get together and have children. We knew that Palaptine would become the Emperor and that the Republic would morph into the Empire. With these new movies, excluding the Anthology series we know nothing or very little about these new characters. It's refreshing to actually wonder about them and speculate about where they have been and where they are going. also think in Episode 9 we get a tag team battle featuring Rey VS Ren and Luke VS Snoke. Can't wait. :)"

107 | "Tim writes in with an awesome tidbit: Hi, There were lots of things that pleased me about The Force Awakens. "
108 | "Mailman Morgan wrote us an awesome email packed with theories, here's my (jennie) favorite: Let me start by saying that I am ecstatic about this podcast! ""At last, we will reveal ourselves to the podcast. At last, we will have some friends."" - me Theories: Expansion of Force powers In the opening scene of TFA, Kylo Ren ""stops a blaster bolt with the force!"" I disagree. One such ability was ""Flow waking"", where the user could experience and observe events of the past. ""Dear grandpa. Show me the dark side please? In darkness and dispare, Ben"" Is he talking to himself? Maybe. Is he talking to Vaders Force ghost? No. Anakin was redeemed and his Ghost returned to the light to have awkward hangouts with Yoda. Was he using the Force to experience the darkest moments of his grandfather's life? I think so."

110 | Eric Royer writes, "I've heard both theories about Rey's parents being Skywalker and Kenobi, and I'm just wondering what if her parents weren't from the light side. Instead, maybe her parents come from the dark side. Maybe it's Rey Palpatine." To which jennie says, EWWWWWW, but intriguing! |
