7/24/2017 13:53:41Emily BylundAshburn, VAHome Base definite "Must Do's"My husband and I have been married for 5 years and we welcomed our first child, a girl, in April.I love designing things. I have been designing things for years, from dorm rooms, to apartments to jewelry. I think that is why I got into blogging. I love putting things together that are uniquely me but also things that other people can relate to.My attitude. Is that weird. I have a very strong personality and I learned from a young age that I don't care about what other people think of me. You either like me or you don't. I am very up front about things and can be brutally honest.Right now I am trying to move from one house to another as smoothly as possible, with a 4 month old!http://breezingthrough.com/@_breezethroughGet up, dress up, show up. I have found over the years that the worse I feel, the better I dress. On hot nasty Virginia summer days, you can usually find me in a dress. I feel like I get so much more done and I end up feeling better.breezingthroughlips@gmail.comSocial Media Manager & Blogger We love Wing Stop. My daughter doesn't have teeth yet but we have taken my young cousins there and they love it!We love going on walks and having picnics. My daughter loves being outside and could spend all day laying on a blanket under a tree.I am usually blogging or at a blogging event.

8/3/2017 20:45:35Denise SternFairfax Station, VA1. Fountainhead Park - great hiking and mountain biking
2. Clifton Cafe in Clifton - homemade crepes in the historic town of Clifton! So unexpected and delicious!
Married for 13 years with 1 son (age 9) and twin daughters (age 8). Our dog is a chunky-headed chocolate lab named Rolo. Like most parents, I am really passionate about my children's education and trying to find ways to keep learning fun for them.

I'm also passionate about advocacy for new mothers, parents and babies. I hope to one day make postpartum in-home visits a national standard in the US, like they are on most other countries.
That I own an overnight care service and advocate for postpartum support for new mothers! Everyone will *say* they are all for support of new mothers out loud, but believe me, the mommy-judging is alive and well on Facebook and message boards.

Some people cannot stand the fact that we offer baby nurse services because in their minds, it's something for "lazy" parents. They don't understand that some moms are hurting or in need of a helping hand.
Parents that don't RSVP to a child's birthday party, or RSVP the day of the party! I know we're all busy but we shouldn't be too busy to respond to a little kid's birthday party.I would like to bring Let Mommy Sleep nationwide. There are currently no regulations or licenses for newborn care providers, so we are working to change that by bringing our business to as many states as possible. Momastery - Glennon Melton's messages are always helpful and positivewww.letmommysleep.com@letmommysleepMy mom told me to enjoy the journey when I was in high school. I used to be so focused on results that I forgot to find the fun and joy in the everyday.care@letmommysleep.comI am the President of Let Mommy Sleep, the DC area's Baby Nurse service.I like to read in depth research articles every night. I know that sounds so boring, but I feel like there is so much confusion and opinion everywhere these days so I like to read documentary style pieces to try to get a good understanding of US and world events. Spartan's in Fairfax! It's a diner-style restaurant where the kids can get pizza, gyro's or any of their favorite foods. The staff is always quick and genuinely friendly. It also feels good to support a family owned small business.Well there's Taco Tuesday of course but one of our family standards is also Red Stew- it's so easy!

1. sautée some onions and brown some cubed beef if you want meat
2. pour in tomato soup
3. add as many types of vegetables as you want. We like mushrooms, carrots, celery and potatoes. There's no rule on how much, just put as much as you want of what you like.
4. toss in a couple of bouillon cubes and let it cook for a few hours
We love to play cards and board games, swim and try new restaurants. I like to hike and take walks. Because we're always so busy and life is generally "loud," it's the only time I can really quiet my mind.I am not ready! I love having the kids home!

One thing I have learned is that if your school offers the package to purchase school supplies from them--- do it! With 3 kids I used to go crazy getting color coded folders and sharpening dozens of pencils. It costs more, but saving time and sanity is worth it!

This started in 2013 when Dr. Ben Carson stood before President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast and said how horrible the Affordable Healthcare Act was and explained that it would hurt people not help them. I began to see how those who were opposed to forced government control were shut up by any means necessary. It was at that moment I believe radicals came out of the closet and took over dividing our country to forced Socialism. As my granddaughter would say I DON'T LIKE IT!I really don't know the answer to this question Trying to be a peace maker. This takes enormous energy and to tell you the truth when chaos and confusion errupts I prefer to realize I am what I am and my soul is at peace. To spend each day as if it were my last. Let go of all things or situations that are petty. I almost always put faith and family ahead of conflicts. My feelings are very important to me. I will fight for myself until my last breath. amazonDo everything in moderation from my mother.mariacarusocone@yahoo.comMotherBlack Raven a western. Surprised me that I would love it. It was mostly about bounty hunters and how they collected cash from wanted posters. It also spoke about the hatred toward the Apache tribe.
My favorite books are by authors James Patterson, David Baldacci and Vince Flynn.
Dairy Queen. Had fun with the grandchildren and choices with ice cream is very reasonable.Lasagna. Serves up to 12 people. Add salad and garlic bread it seems to always be a hit. Now that's a laugh to include ingredients and instructions. They are listed on the box of lasagna but I will tell you buy the best lasagna noodles not store brand it does make a difference. Love playing games. For instance, Apples to Apples or Charades. Lots of laughter with these kind of activities. Living at the beach is always fun. Walking the beach, experiencing sunrises and sunsets and jumping in the pool and storms are extraordinary. Read. Go for a drive and best of all take a nap! This doesn't involve me directly. To my children take advantage of events in your neighborhood that celebrate back to school. Take advantage of clearance sales which include supplies and clothes when off season.

I'm married to Jonathan, we just had our 7th anniversary. We have 3 boys, Seth (5), David (3) and Jacob (1). Our only girls are the dog, Lexi (3 yr old Goldendoodle), and the cat, Spangle (14 yr old Siamese).Homeschooling, dancing, painting, health.I think it depends on the group I'm in. We're starting with short time frames with breaks to get energy out until his attention span can keep up with the full load. Married for 15 years, mother of a teenage daughter (14) and a pre-teen son (12) . We have a beautiful collie, named KenderTeaching tennis to children and adults is my biggest passion. I have been teaching tennis for over 20 years. Tennis is great for your mind and body and you can play it all your life. And it is fun and social. In the summer I teach tennis to campers at Camp Friendship and in the fall and spring I teach many local students. Growing up in Russia I had a dream of coming to America to teach tennis, this would combine my love for the sport and English language. I am lucky as I get to leave my dream. I am a very strong willed and self-disciplined person but I am very soft when it comes to parenting. If I ever need to discipline my kids and take away privileges, like electronics or hanging with their friends somehow I am not good with enforcing these rules and before I know they have their privileges back. I don't like to hear people swear. I grew up surrounded by people who never tolerated the use of bad language or bad words in their vocabulary. My parents, my coaches and my mentors would never tolerate any cursing or swearing. To this day I dislike it very much when people do it around me especially if they think it's cool to do it. One of my goals is to help my husband with his mission of running a summer camp for children from around the world. He started Camp Friendship with a goal of bringing children and camp counselors together to play, to learn and to make life long friendships, in peace!
Camp is diverse, educational and a lot of fun. To keep our business going and to continue with camp mission would be a great life goal for me.
I like Ted Talks website https://www.ted.com/talkswww.campfriendship.comI grew up in Russia. When I was 16 my tennis coach advised me to learn at least one foreign language as it would open up the world to me. I worked very hard to learn English. She was right, the knowledge of English allowed me to travel and discover the world. alina@campfriendship.comCamp Friendship Executive Director and Friendship Tennis Academy Director I am reading The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown. It's a story of nine working-class young men from the American West who made the rowing team that overcame the odds and showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant. Books like this inspire people to believe and to persevere no matter what the odds or circumstances could be.
My family likes IHOP a lot. There is one at Zion Cross Roads near us. We all like pancakes and waffles no matter the time of the day. I always have canned salmon on hand to make quick salmon patties. I mix salmon with one egg, onion, bread crumbs and old bay seasoning and then fry them in the pan. I serve them with rice and green beans or a salad.
We like to take short or long family trips to the beach, Florida or Russia to visit my family. We are talking about taking a trip to Europe too. My husband and I enjoy going to Downtown Charlottesville for dinner, movie or a concert in the PavilionI am never ready for Back -to School because we all like to stay up late and wake up late. Going back to school means waking up early for us. This is something for all of us to work on :)

Married for ten years with two daughters ages 16 and 11. One dog and one African grey parrot (and yes he talks)... not the dog the bird. One of my dreams was to create a children's book and now that I know the process; I'm working on my second book. I would love to to publish my self-help book for women-- just need to finish layout. My biggest pet peeve is definitely when I see someone throw their trash out of their car window. You would think we all know better...but I'm still knotting my head back and forth in disbelief.www.mistyrivera.comIt was actually the advice my mother-in-law gave to my husband before she passed away. She told him, " Keep moving forward!" I've used it and applied it to my life's motto--ever since hearing it. No looking back!misty@mistyrivera.comAuthor of a self-published children's book named "Angel Face-The Ballerina Dancing In The Moonlight."I'm reading several books right now because each applies to something different that I need in order to grow mentally, physically and spiritually.

My list:
1. The Lord Is My Shepherd by Robert Morgan
2. Ballerina Body by Misty Copeland
3. The Joy of Success by Susan Ford Collins

The family dinner that is hearty and easy-- and my girls actually will eat the leftovers. We call it "Pica Dillo" (English translation: chopped up). The Spanish version sounds edible.

Ingredients:
One pound of lean beef
One can of tomato sauce
Two zucchini
One large potato
One can of corn
One onion
4 pieces of cloves
1/4 cup of cilantro
Salt and pepper
4 cups of water

On medium heat in large pan cook lean beef with chopped onion.

When lean beef is lightly brown add can of tomato sauce and 4 cups of water.

Then add sliced zucchini, chopped cilantro, small chopped potato, and can of corn.

Add cloves and salt and pepper to you preference.

Let the soup "Pica Dillo" boil for 10 minutes.

Pour into bowls and top off with pinch of fresh cilantro. Can add a squeeze of lemon juice or spoon full of sour cream.

We love going to the beach! Our family vacations always include a beach visit. My girls love collecting seashells and colored rocks. I love listening to the waves crash into the shore.Every Friday, my husband and I have date night. This has been essential to keeping our relationship thriving.

11/29/2017 14:39:06Lindsey BernierFrederick, MDIn the warm months there are outdoor concerts every Thursday for the little ones and a family concert series on Sundays. It is also a great time to walk along Carroll Creek and see the big fish or the baby ducks. Downtown Frederick and Frederick parks and rec host many events including carriage rides during the holidays, monthly festivals, halloween parties, etc. This is a fantastic town to find delicious food, crafted beers, local wineries, family friendly activities and history. I have been married to my husband Jeffrey for 7 years. We have 2 daughters Olivia 5 y.o and Jessica 4 y.o. We also have an 8 year old Aussie and recently adopted an 11 year old rescue from Animal Control. I love to help the community that I live in and to teach my girls to do the same. This might sound silly, but my biggest pet peeve is when people do not return their shopping carts to appropriate areas. We love tacos in this house! We spend a lot of time as a family going to festivals, local concerts or just strolling the shops in downtown. My husband and I love to grab 1 of the many well made cocktails at the Tasting Room or stop by the Red Horse for a steak and oysters.

1/16/2018 18:58:35Hanna BenedictThurmont, MDUp county we take things a little slower. We have some of the most beautiful scenery around. People come from all over to become one with nature. It's an outdoor wonderland, no matter the season. There are orchards, farmer's markets, a winery and local butchers.

Something outside of the norm is In the spring get the stink off the family and take them up to explore some hiking trails during a sunny, warm spring day - even with snow still on the ground, the trails can be seen and people are friendly. We use https://www.alltrails.com/us/maryland/thurmont to help understand the trail elevations and if our sedentary lifestyle over the winter might be make the climb a bit tricky. Come back during the summer for a day at the lake (beaches for the kids to play, bring your own food or splurge at the snack shack), fish and explore the waterfalls. During the autumn the colors of the changing trees, the crisp feel in the air and the smell of campfires are just perfect.

Our town becomes a little crazy the second weekend in October for the Catoctin Colorfest (http://www.colorfest.org/). The town park holds it's juried arts & crafts but the entire town is transformed into a crafter's wonderland. It's a great way to support local businesses and get a jump start not only on your holiday gift shopping but your autumn decorating as well! Vendors from all over the country come to share their wares. The kickoff to Colorfest weekend starts on Thursday where all your yard sale dreams come true! Friends gather together at the house with the most visibility for mult-family yard sales. You can cruise down almost any street and someone will be set up.

One of the reasons I fell in love with the town (in addition to all of the above) is the town parade during the Thurmont Carnival in July. It's an all-out event with firetrucks from all over, local bands, cheerleaders, sports players, churches, awesome cars and the best fun around! You know it's parade day when you see chairs and blankets lining the sidewalk, claiming their premium parade viewing spot, first thing in the morning.

Just up the road is the National Shrine Grotto of Our lady of Lourdes (http://www.nsgrotto.org/), Mount St. Mary's for great sporting events (http://www.mountathletics.com/landing/index) and winter sports up at Liberty Mountain (http://www.libertymountainresort.com/)
We're a blended family and proud of it! I'm a native Marylander, having lived between D.C. and Baltimore most of my life. I gained a best friend out of a co-worker and knew it was a match made for me when he could play and talk with my then five-year old son. A year after marrying we grew our family by rescuing a Beagle mix and she remains my only daughter. A year later we welcomed Gray into our family and moved to Frederick. A year and a half later we learned Ethan was on his way and moved up here to Thurmont, where we've been for 8 years. We've since rescued a Borador. In a fun twist of fate, we fell in love with a kitten at our local shelter, Cuddles Cat Rescue (https://www.facebook.com/Cuddlescatrescuethurmont/), only to fall in love with a kitten who now has completed our family. If we're not at home, and pending upon the season, we're either on the football field, the basketball court or the lacrosse field. I love to read, have been crafting with vinyl, needle felting and just picked up metal stamping. I have won awards for my baking and can cook for an army. I do love my amenities, including cable service, internet and live tweeting during my favorite shows. I currently volunteer for almost anything that piques my interest or involves the kids. I sit on the conference for local recreation lacrosse; I am a Level 1 Certified boys lacrosse coach and work with Catoctin Youth Association Lacrosse. I also coach basketball and this year coached mini pony football. If there is a competition, I'm there to watch who wins. I cuss enough to cause a sailor to blush. It's definitely a challenge to be G-rated when coaching. Lying. It's a deal breaker. Ever heard of the vase that breaks? You can try to repair it but it will never be as strong as it once was. Right now I'm just focused on staying afloat with a bunch of smaller goals, like laundry, vacuuming, and keeping everyone alive. One day I'll try to sit down and write that great American novel but for now, I'm doing research by living my life.Pinterest. Seriously. It's an addiction.@2CleanOrNot2Don't borrow trouble. If you don't need to worry about it, don't. thbenedict@comcast.netCEO of Benedict Enterprises, Inc. I've borrowed a book from the library, based on a recommendation from Goodreads, but I have yet to start it, which is rather sad. I'm a huge fan of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series (well before it hit Starz), Charlaine Harris and Laurell K. Hamilton. Mountain Gate is the jam. Can I make all of that myself? Yup. That's not the point - me not cooking 5 different meals but everyone being satisfied is the point. I'd say pizza, because I'm so sick of eating it that I'll actually eat something else just to avoid eating it. We usually sit down to eat dinner as a family, although it might be 4:30 during certain times of the year. We'll all usually go to each other sporting events; when we're not enjoying solitude during our free time, we've enjoyed going hiking, walking around the Gettysburg battlefields, seeing movies ON THE DAY THEY COME OUT - we do move heaven and earth for those. Since we're a family on the go most of the time, we've learned to bond over a variety of different things at different places. Honestly, I nap. I'm a full blown napper. When Troy and I go out, I'm usually pushing for dinner that I don't have to cook and an overpriced coffee. We've been known to make any event together a date; drop the kids off at Sunday school and have a McDonald's breakfast followed by Jubilee date, a Walmart date, a Wegman's date. We're happy, blessed and thankful for what we have. I'm on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn (though I ignore most of those emails), Instagram and you can find me under Catoctin Youth Association Sports, CYA Lacrosse and CYA Basketball.

I make whatever the remaining family members will eat..I try my hand at everything...and my other son lives on cheeseburgers and fruit for dinner. I realize that I just set myself up for major criticizing...I want to live my life...not die of stress...and I was going to, if continued to fight 5-6 times a week. It's been 2 months since I began this phase...I may win..he said he didn't want to eat another burger...but it was short lived when I made a chicken dish the next day.

I've recently learned to make the best (according to all 4 family members-shocker!) roasted brussel sprouts.
Directions
prep time= 10 m
Cook time = 35 m
Ready = 45 m
Preheat an oven to 475 degrees F (230 degrees C). I tried 450 degrees...they don't turn out as well.
Fill a large pot with water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Place Brussels sprouts in water and cook for 2 minutes. Remove sprouts from water and transfer to ice water to cool. Drain and pat dry. Set aside.
Place onions in boiling water; cook until nearly tender, about 10 minutes. Remove from water, rinse with cold water, and pat dry. Set aside.
Melt butter in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Stir in Brussels sprouts and onions; toss with butter to coat. Stir in salt and black pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
Transfer skillet to the preheated oven and roast until golden and tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve.

I am very passionate about helping new moms not be overwhelmed by motherhood. Which is why I created the Super Mom Workout. It helps moms feel like they are doing something for themselves even if they never leave their house.

One of my biggest interests/hobbies is scrapbooking. I like being uber crafty. I joined the church Christmas Bazaar group to make different useful crafts year round.
I am into sports BIG TIME! So that means there are teams that I don't like.People who try and push their political views on others
People who don't know when it's their turn at a 4 way stop
Women who let their bra straps show

We just got a travel trailer so camping just got a lot more fun. We have a little garden and the kids love tending to the plants to watch them turn into food. We are into sports and follow whatever is in season. My two favorite things to do in my mommy time is scrapbooking, it helps turn my brain off. And tweeting to new moms to help them realize that having a newborn is just a phase for the moms as much as it is for the babies. We are going from baseball fields to dance camps to drama camps. Then topping it off with our first family cruise in the fall. We are counting the days already!

We also love to take family trips to the various coastline towns in Connecticut and head to NYC to see all so many amazing sites!!
I have been married to my amazing husband for almost 5 years. We have a 3 1/2 year old boy and a 14 month old little girl. Cooking, Reading, Spending time outside, Cooking...and of course, anything with my children!!!Um, I have absolutely NO idea. I asked my husband and he laughed too....I think I am pretty boring!!!This has to be the lack of respect for others that seems to be rapidly growing around me...little things from not holding the door for people because you are too busy looking at your cell phone or not being respectful of other people's parenting decisions. This may sound odd coming from someone who loves to blog, but I do feel like technology, social media, and the internet at times allows people to not feel accountable because there is less face to face interaction in life...
I do feel old writing this, but it is true :)
I have a million goals written down...making it happen is a little different!!! This summer I have to repaint all of the trim around our windows - that's a practical one! I also am working on my little girls "big girl room". I am excited about organizing a team for Making Strides for Breast Cancer this fall and am hoping that we double our fundraising efforts from last year. Lastly - I am hoping to plan a trip with my husband to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. It has been a busy couple of years, and I really hope we can get away!!!www.cnn.comwww.masteringmommybrain.com@mastermombrainMy husband reminded me a lot when I was a new mom and stressed about making everything for our family perfect that my son was happy just to have a happy, relaxed mom - it was okay if I made mistakes, if I served a jar of baby food instead of homemade, or if I used disposable diapers instead of cloth. That advice inspired me to start the website - I was able to laugh a lot at my own mommy mishaps, and now encourage others to do the same. This was all stated very eloquently in an popular article that was shared a couple months ago as well - http://powerofmoms.com/2012/04/your-children-want-you/, which I absolutely loved!masteringmommybrain@gmail.comI work full time as a project manager focusing in efficiency projects at a financial services company in the NYC area. I launched my blog (www.masteringmommybrain) almost 3 months ago as a creative outlet for myself- I would consider blogging my "graveyard shift" job! This summer, I have decided to read what everyone is talking about! I finished The Hunger Games and 50 Shades of Grey Trilogies, and right now I am reading Discovery of Witches.
My favorite book is Gone with the Wind - which I have loved since I first read it in 7th grade. I usually read it once a year :)
We love to hit up Friendly's...honestly, who can resist finishing the meal with an ice cream????I LOVE this chicken marsala recipe, and my husband loves the leftover casserole which I give details for at the bottom of the post...
http://www.masteringmommybrain.com/2012/06/22/one-for-the-table-one-for-the-freezer-fridays-chicken-marsala/
We love to go for walks, play outside, cook, read books, and family movie nights!!! Alone time, not working?! I have no idea!! Just kidding. My favorite activities are to get a pedicure or to walk around a mall by myself. It is weird how shopping by myself is a treat! I also love to cook fancy meals when I am home, because I feel like I usually cook with a time limit and purpose, and I miss cooking for pleasure.During the summer, we do a lot of trips to visit family at the Jersey Shore and the South Shore of Boston. We limit a lot of our travel to during the year, as we don't have to worry about school schedules, and can take advantage of travel deals and lower crowds. We are hoping to hit Orlando this fall with my Disney-crazed kiddos!!!

8/14/2012 16:05:28Cyndi DannerKearneysville, WVTo be honest, we live in a very small town and leave the area for most of our entertainment with the kids! However, we do frequent Morgan's Grove Park in Shepherdstown which is a great little park. The entire area is shaded with a pavillion picnic area, grills and the train passes by just a few short yards away. I have been married for 5 1/2 years to Ray Danner and we have been blessed with two of the most amazing boys! Alex is 4 and full of energy and Max is 2 and has done a little better with embracing being a baby! They are true blessings from God and I can't imagine my life without them! We have two dogs, Sasha & Samson. They are lab/rot mixes and are almost 9 years old.I am most passionate about my family! My boys are my whole world and everything I do in this life is to make sure they are happy, healthy and successful! I pray that I have the influence to instill good morals and values in them and that one day I will be able to sit back and just enjoy watching the fine young men they have grown into. We are a sports family so, I am looking forward to the day that I can watch them play high-level baseball, basketball and whatever else they may choose.

I have always been in to photography and my favorite subjects are my boys! They don't always cooperate but, there is something to be said for those candid shots I snap when they aren't looking!
The most controversial thing about me is probably the fact that I tell it like it is.....back to good old honesty! I'm not very good at "faking it" or being phony and I am always honest. That is tough for some people to take!My biggest pet peeve is dishonesty! I am a terrible liar so, I just simply don't do it! People may not always like what I have to say but, you can rest assured, it's the truth! Dishonesty speaks volumes about the type of person you are and I would rather hurt someone's feelings or disappoint them with the truth than deceive them with a lie! This goes hand in hand with, you get what you give!My main goal in life is to be the best Mom I can be! I strive to provide a safe, fun and healthy environment for my boys to grow up in. Their happiness is my source of happiness! I also strive to save enough money for them to each go to the college of their choice when the time comes! www.facebook.comThe best advice I have ever received came from my Dad! He has always told me that "you get what you give" and I can tell you, that has proven to be so true! What a wonderful world it would be if we all treated others as we would like to be treated! cyndi.danner@yahoo.comParalegal, Jefferson County Prosecutor's OfficeI am not currently reading anything, except for my daily devotionals but, my all time favorite book is The Notebook! Absolutely loved this book, felt like I was actually living the story as I read it. I couldn't put it down. Although rare, I do believe some people are blessed with that kind of love!Although I don't think Outback is really considered "kid friendly", that's where we like to go! The boys love their mac & cheese! Pizza! When all else fails......we have pizza! Sorry I can't dazzle anyone with a delicious recipe but, my family LOVES pizza! My specialty is taco pizza or white pizza (garlic, chicken, grilled onions and alfredo sauce)! My family loves to be outside so, if it's nice, that is where you will find us! Most of our evenings and weekends are spent in the backyard with all of the neighborhood kids playing kickball, baseball, volleyball or just watching the kids run around and play! We also frequent places such as Monkey Joe's or Kidz Play where they have multiple moonbounces for the kids to play in. We love going to the beach too!My alone time is usually spent doing something for the family whether it be cleaning the house, shopping or making dinner but, there is that rare occassion where I sit on the sofa and do nothing (or maybe I watch a Lifetime movie)! The hubby and I always spend the last hour of the evening watching one of our favorite shows and just relaxing! We have been going strong all summer with soccer and the pool and outdoor activities but, our yearly beach trip is coming up and we are all so excited.........for different reasons!

My passion is my children. I lost my 2nd child to a homicide and it drastically changed my life. My kids always come first, even if I have to go without or put off paying a bill or 2.

I also spend alot of time at my daughters elementary school volunteering.
I am extremely over protective and defensive when it comes to my kids. 10/22/2012 14:31:48Michelle WintersManassas, VAI have been married to my husband Fred for over 8 years. We have two children, my daughter is 7 and my son is 5. We also have 2 dogs, a 13 year old Border Collie / Chow mix and a 10 month old Doberman/Pit Bull mix. We also have 2 cats and 4 chickens. We are enjoying getting fresh eggs for the first time!I love helping people. I love with my profession I can help people and I also want to start volunteering more. I also love to bake and am just starting to try some new recipies. And I like to garden, we add more vegetables every year to our garden and I would love to one season only eat from our garden.I think my career is somewhat controversial. I know sometimes sleep coaches get a bad name because people think we want to put children on strict schedules and let babies cry it out. But that's not what I do - I work with the parents and recommend gentle methods to get their children sleeping more. Sometimes we change some scheduling, usually the children's naps are not close enough. If the children aren't sleeping, the parents aren't sleeping and no one is happy! My biggest pet peeve is rude people. Say thank you when someone holds the door for you, wave when someone lets you in in traffic - I think the world would be a lot better place if adults would remember their please and thank you's as much as we try to get our children to!www.sleepwellsleepsolutions.com@VaSleepCoachmdlanf@yahoo.comI am the owner of SleepWell Sleep Solutions. I am a Gentle Sleep Coach and a Greenproofer. I help parents assist their children in getting the sleep they need to be happy and healthy and I also assist families identify and remove toxins in their environments.I have been meaning to start the Hunger Games for awhile. I have all 3 books sitting on my night stand! I have been busy reading books about sleep and going green for my business now.We love to go to Red Robin. I love that the kids can circle the food they want since my daughter will not speak to waiters! And they can color the menu so it gives them something to do while we wait for food. We usually ask for a basket of fries to start off too so they can munch while we wait.We love to play in our backyard and ride bikes. We went to several Potomac Nationals baseball games this summer and they were a lot of fun.My husband and I like to go out to dinner if we have some time away from the kids. We normally pick out outfits the night before school so we don't have to fight over what the kids are going to wear in the morning.

10/23/2012 14:02:08Kendra HaughFalling Waters, WVMost of all the Apple Harvest Festival. Is a must do in October. I am married to such a great guy (most people say he is very hard to get to know) We have been together for almost 10 years. He came into my life at such the right time. (Myself and my 2 year old daughter were coming out of a very abusive marriage) He was my knight and shinning armor) He took my daughter and I and we have made a wonderful life. He has raised her like his own. Brittany is now 13.. I also have a 21 year old daughter Ashley, a 19 year old son Robert and my husband and I took in a now 18 year old foster child named TJ, Tj is now in NC proudly serving in the United States Marines. We are so proud of all 4 of our children.
We also have 4 wonderful dog. Gunny, Rex, Twinkles, and Jack. and 2 cats. 8ball and Khloe. There is never a dull moment in our home.
I would love to see my youngest daughter be able to one day be off of some of the meds she has to be on for ADHD. Life is so hard when she is on so many. I am a fighter when it comes to my kids. I will not sit back and let them fail. when someone tells me they can not do something I will find a way for them to do it and do it better then they thought they could. Crazy Horse. Hagerstown, MD My daughter loves the animals on the walls. and being able to throw the peanut shells on the floor. Eye Round Roast on the grill sliced thin. In the summer we love to go waterskiing on the boat. We also take bike rides and we love to travel. Alone time what would that be? If I get 10 or 15 min I like to take a bath but that is interrupted by a child or a husband or the cats or something. We always try to stay on a bed time schedule with our daughter in the summer. It does seem to help when it comes time to go back to school. Even more so since she has ADHD she needs that routine laid out.

Happily married to my best friend. We have three children (11, 2 and 10 mths). We have one dog and two cats. All our pets were rescued. I love talkng pictures. I do a small photography buisness on the side and it has opened my eyes to what is out there and how taking a picture can make everlasting memories. I am currently earning my bachelors degree. One day I would LOVE to travel the world, taking pictures along the way. Chomping and hitting silverware on your teeth when someone eats!! UggI would love to use my creativity and have my own photography business. To never give up, to keep an open mind and always strive to be the best that you can be! gailsubman@gmail.comI'm a Stay at home mom, and photographer I love the Laurel K. Hamilton Anita Blake series, anything that is mystery, suspense and horror. You have to keep that brain on the go. I also read tons of children's books!! I think I can recite three of them with out even looking at the pages. Love it!!I love making my potato casserole. What the great thing is you can change it up. From making it vegetarian or for our meat lovers. It's quick and easy to do. It has always been a hit!!

1 pkg potatoes o'Brian (any brand)
1 pkg cream cheese (softened)
1 can cream of chicken soup (here you can substitute for any cream of soup!!)
1 pkg shredded cheese (any kind you like)

Mix all ingredients together, sprinkle the top with the shredded cheese. Cover with foil. You want to use a 9x13 pan.

Cook at 350 degrees for 50-70 mins (depending on your oven.)
We love to be out doors anything we are able to do. We have a game night where we play cards or board games. Love to dance and sing with my little girls and be creative. Wow, I usually end up bored!! My kids are my life. I feel like a piece of me is missing when they are gone. But when we can we love visiting friends in PA. Back to school so far has been easy since I only have my son in school. With him it is always a smooth transition. But next year he will be in 6th grade. I feel that as long as you keep open communication open and be there for them, it goes well. Don't stress the small stuff it will always work out.
