Single day data collection can be skewed for any single day. I will be providing a representative day of digitization over a year of data collection
Books
Books include published materials, manuscript bound items (diaries, scrapbooks, account books, etc.). These materials range from traditional Western bound, Asian side-sewn, early bindings, and idiosyncratic bindings.
Other1600-2000
The materials are typically associated with projects the cover specific date ranges, but on the whole, we would see items spanning 400 years

Most of the material digitized was collections of manuscripts, but in those collections are scattered photographs that were digitized at the same time. One collection required a plexiglass sheet to be placed on top of the papers to flatten them, increasing the digitization time.
Other
1900s and 1800s
There were two primary collections digitized, one from the 1900s and the other from the 1800s.

Data collection was done with one or more sample groups of capture by five project employees in three positions at various times during one day; the precise makeup of those samples differed somewhat from one another, but all are representative of typical process times here (none consisted of outlier material).
Other
Works of art on paper
All works were single-sheet original prints (etchings, etc.), mostly by Whistler, hinged into window mats stored in solander boxes; each print was handled with standard museum art-handling techniques and photographed with its mat window open, proceeding through an entire storage box (sequenced by anticipated shooting dimensions) for each group of capture images.
1800s
The prints used for this Day of Data sample happen to have been from the late 19th century; our capture processes and the time they take are the same for matted single-sheet prints from the 16th through 20th centuries.
