Winter Activities Spectator Guide- Updated 1/4/21

Crete Public schools has collaborated with our community partners to develop a spectator plan which promotes a safe environment

in which our patrons can support our teams while adhering to the policies of our partners.

Spectators will be required to wear face coverings at all Crete Public Schools Activities, both indoor and outdoor.

Social distancing will be Required. Temperature Checks upon entrance to venue

Spectators must identify Performer they are representing at the ticket gate

Spectators will be limited to 6 family members for each performer
Performers include coaches, managers & non-uniformed team members.
An additional 60 Crete students and 25 faculty/staff will be admitted.
No visiting student section
Distancing - 6ft distance between family groups is Strongly Recommended
Fans must use bleachers to sit in family groups.
Spectators must avoid congregating on upper deck
Limited pep band
Limited Cheerleaders - No visiting cheerleaders
Normal Concessions Available
Patrons must wear masks while waiting in line.
Markings on ground to mark 6 ft. distance.

HS BasketballCrete High School - Auxiliary GymSpectators will be limited to 4 immediate family members for each performer
No Cheerleaders
No Student Section.
Distancing - 6 ft. recommended
Fans must use bleachers to sit in family groups.
Spectators on upper deck must avoid clustering
Masks required
No pep band

Normal Concessions Available
Patrons must wear masks while waiting in line.
Markings on ground to mark 6 ft. distance.

Basketball
Crete Middle SchoolSpectators will be limited to 6 family members for each performer
Performers include coaches
An Additional 35 Crete Students and 10 faculty admitted
Distancing Required-
Fans must use bleachers to sit in family groups.
Spectators must avoid clustering on upper deck

Fans separated on Home side & visitor side

High School Wrestling
Crete High SchoolSpectators will be limited to a number of family members for each performer which ensures we can stay below 50% capacity.
Performers include coaches
Distancing 6ft distance between family groups is Strongly Recommended
Masks required
No pep band
Fans separated on Home side & visitor side - Designated Sections for tournament
Normal Concessions Available
Patrons must wear masks while waiting in line.
Markings on ground to mark 6 ft. distance.

All Winter Athletics & Activities
Competition on the Road. Various LocationsProtocol & restrictions will vary from school to school
Any information sent to the Athletics office will be shared with coaches.
Information for spectators will be attached to the Activities Calendar: https://www.centralconference.org/public/genie/408/school/3/
When necessary, a spreadsheet will be shared with ATHLETES to complete as a pass list for a school we are visiting.

Guidelines for Event Workers

Concessions WorkersNormal Concessions Available.
All Staff will wear Gloves & Masks at all times.
Worker(s) dedicated to making transactions and handling money only.
Dedicated staff to serve food directly to customers.
No food displayed on the counter where food is distributed.
Frequent disinfecting of the distribution counter area.
Individual packets of condiments - handed out by staff upon request
Hand sanitizer available for customers and workers.
No Homemade products allowed.
Patrons must wear masks while waiting in line.
Markings on ground to mark 6 ft. distance.
All surfaces cleaned and sanitized at the conclusion of the event.

Ticket TakersAll event staff are required to wear face coverings.
Whenever possible have line and spacing marked as visual spacing cues to prevent crowding and spread people apart.
Count Crete Student & Staff attendance when applicable
Check names off roster as family members enter

AnnouncerAnnoucer required to have face covering. Script will include protocols and expectations for those in attendance. Frequent reminders of protocols should occur throughout the event.

OfficialsWear face coverings other than when working the contest. Come dressed when possible. Maintain physical distancing within the locker room space. Electronic whistles will be an allowable option.

Activity TransportationPre- trip Temperature check taken inside, prior to boarding.
All drivers & passengers will wear masks.
Disinfect prior to departure, upon arrival at destination and upon return.
Windows down when feasible.
Normal Occupancy
Allowed to eat for short periods of time
Coaches are responsible for monitoring.
Students will not share food
All trash will be removed from the bus.

Guidelines for Facility Use

Team/Club Meals in buildingsWe Strongly Recommend teams eliminate, or limit team meals to one at the beginning of the year, and one at the end of the year.
Team meals should not be moved off school property to avoid limitations.
Team Meals allowed with servers handing out prepared food - no self serve
All food prep must be done by individuals wearing masks & gloves
Parents allowed to attend and serve meals
All servers must wear mask and gloves
Athletes must wear masks, except when eating
Same restrictions as school lunch for seating or outdoor spread out.

MeetingsOnly Groups conducting business directly related to CPS Operations will be allowed to use CPS facilities for meetings
All CPS protocol concerning COVID 19 must be followed

Outdoor Facility UseCrete Public Schools is not restricting outdoor facility use at this time.
All persons on CPS property are required to wear face coverings and/or practice social distancing.

You must conduct Temperature Checks Before Practice
Needs to be done inside - set a place to check kids before going out
Coaches’ responsibility
Anyone with temp above 100 should sit 10 minutes and be retested
If Trainer Tim is available, he will retest student
If still above 100, send the athlete home.
Locker Rooms & Meeting rooms will be sprayed down with disinfectant every night.
Don’t leave anything out that shouldn’t be sprayed. (NO Food on tables or in gym lockers)
Baggies for mouthpieces.
Don’t leave water bottles in lockers
Athletes should take their practice clothes (whatever is touching their skin) home and wash them every night
Limit the sharing of equipment as much as possible.
Spray down balls/equipment when possible during, and after practice.
No shared water bottles! Each athlete should have a personal water bottle.
Come up with a system that works for your team.
Take attendance and keep a practice/ meeting plan of everything you do.

Community Gym UseOnly CPS personnel and groups working directly with CPS Students may use CPS gyms.
All patrons must self-monitor for COVID 19 symptoms.
Anyone exhibiting symptoms should not use CPS facilities.
Must follow all CPS face covering and social distancing guidelines.
Face covering required of coaches and managers at all times
Athletes required to wear face coverings when not directly involved in a drill
Practice Social Distancing
Wash/Sanitize hands frequently
Group/Coach is responsible for picking up all garbage at the end of practice
Group is responsible for disinfecting ‘High Touch’ areas.
Group must supply all practice equipment.
Parents/siblings of athletes should not enter the building.
Coaches are responsible for taking and tracking attendance.
Exterior doors should never be propped open.

Locker Room All levels

Coaches are responsible for athlete compliance with guidelines.
All clothing that touches the skin must be taken home and washed daily
Lockers will be sprayed with disinfectant daily
No food Left in Lockers
Provide zip lock bags to cover mouthpieces
No Water Bottles left in lockers
Face coverings must be worn at all times in locker rooms.

5 Athlete Limit
Masks to be worn by all people, at all times.
Ice in water bottles -
designated manager, wearing mask & gloves, may use the scoop to add ice to water bottles.
