Learners will be able to use a course website as an extension of the classroom as they engage in the use of education technology in order to be College and Career Ready.Learners will recognize and be able to describe the style of writing expected in an online class as they engage with both peers and instructors. Learners will be able to construct their own responses appropriately as they develop a deeper understanding of the course content.Learners will dissect and label the writing style and format they notice in sample writings from a model course site.Learners will engage with the instructor and classmates using discussion board and other tools offered on the web portal, which serves as an extension to the classroom.

Learners will observe and experiment with various mediums used in education to support their learning and compare the different mediums and technologies to appraise its affordances and constraints.Learners will investigate various technology tools and explore its affordance and constraints in comparison to other technology tools used in education and previously explored.Learners will evaluate the best technology tool to utilize in demonstrating their understanding of the content material.

Learners will recognize the discipline of psychology as a science and demonstrate the ability to practice and apply the principles of psychology in lessons, units, and the course as a whole.Learners will use data from their own lives and their society to comprehend that there is evidence of psychology everywhere as they use the proper language (terms) to dissect the relevancy of ther terms, concepts, theories, and principles of the discipline of psychology.Learners will write up two part scenarios from real life in the form of case studies. The first part will require them to explain the scenario without the use of any psychological concepts. In the second part, on another paper, learners will write down the psychological explanation of the scenario using the terms, concepts, theories, and principles studied in the current lesson and/or unit. As the course progresses, learners will be able to demostrate their understanding that psychology exists everywhere.Learners will be assigned two "Psych Minutes" throughout the duration of the course where they will have to find an article that aligns with the current lesson or unit, fill out the Psych Minutes Report Sheet, and present the material to the course. Learners will present a summary of the article and the key concepts that were found which align with the current lesson and/or unit. Learners will demonstrate their ability to explain how psychology is present in the context of the article.

Learners will identify the APA writing style, format, and structure and be able to explain its various parts. Learners will construct responses following the APA guide and be able to locate and use credibile resources to guide them.Learners will comprehend the general differences between APA and MLA and be able to use resources to properly apply APA requirements. Learners will work towards building their knowledge and practice of APA throughout the duration of the course.Learners will be given a document written in APA and a document written in MLA and be charted with the task of explaining the differences and similarities they note in creating what they believe to be the rules of APA style, format, and structure. Individual learners will then work with their learning pods to create a pod list before sharing it out as they learn the specific attributes of APA by creating their own APA checklist/guide to follow for all assignments.Learners will be expected to practice using APA in discussion board posts, Psych Minute reports, and all other written and typed material in class or via the web portal of the class. Learners are to reflect on their own use of APA at three points throughout the term (beginning, middle, and end) using a self-reflection and assessment form to see their progress. Learners will also analyze a colleague's use of APA to provide feedback at the mid point of the term as well as at the end of the course.

Learners will demonstrate the ability to use Citation Machine to generate properly formatted APA citations for their papers. Learners will pratice preparing APA in-text citations and reference pages as they work towards constructing an APA research paper near the end of the term.Learners will be given a Just-in-Time Teaching (JiTT) opportunity to comprehend what an APA citation should look like and how to create one. Learners will be given the task of constructing their own sample reference page along with a "how-to" guide to add to their list of references for future use. Learners will conduct a thorough research on the nature of sleep, its importance, and an experiment on their own sleep lives and prepare a research paper using proper APA style, format, and structure to demonstrate their competence in meeting the goal of knowing and applying APA.
