When grandmother passed away five years ago the management of the land was handed down to her three grandchildren, Ayo, Imani, and Nia. The most prized members of the reserve are a crash of white rhinos. Locked away safe are the emergency plans for refilling the water reserves in a level three drought. Grandmother didn’t think the plans would need to be put in place for at least another 50 years. However, with water supplies running low, if we don’t get water soon, the grasses will disappear and the rhinos will lose their food supply. Can we get to the plans in time?MathPercentages

The OutsidersYou and your classmates have been reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. You will use the clues available and your knowledge of the book to open each of the locks and gain access to the breakout box in 45 minutes or less. This is a competition among all of the English classes, so you must work together as a team to find the clues to unlock the box. Teams that are successful in this communicate with each other, share ideas, listen, pay attention to details, and persist with clues even when they are not obvious. You have two hint cards that may be used at any point in the competition, but the group must decide unanimously on how and when the hint cards should be used. Do not talk about any details of this game outside of this room -- you do not want to give future classes an unfair advantage by giving away important clues!ELAThe Outsiders
