Congress Bundestag Youth ExchangeGerman language immersion experienceThe CBYX program provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students to spend an academic year attending a German school while living with a host family. The program provides a network of support through reputable international exchange organizations, field staff, trained volunteers, and carefully screened host families to ensure the safety and success of the participant’s exchange experience.

Norwegian Folk SchoolNorwayEvery year, many international students attend folk high school in Norway. Some come because they want to learn the Norwegian language and immerse themselves in the culture, some see it as a first step to settling in Norway, and some want to experience the unique pedagogical approach of folk high schools. Folk high schools have a big presence in the Nordic countries, but are relatively unknown in the rest of the world. The pedagogical focus is on the students’ motivation, which is why the schools do not have exams or give grades. We believe that you learn the most if you want to learn.

Scandinavian Folk SchoolScandinavian countriesFolk schools are open to students 18 years and older, but the majority of students are young adults, between 18 and 25 years old. Typically, folk school students are looking for a nontraditional educational experience at a place where they will be both enlightened and inspired. Many are exploring other educational or career options, or looking for an enriching gap year experience, or even seeking a change of pace for a year or a semester between studies at their college or university.

United Through SportSouth Africa United Through Sport is a charity working with participants from disadvantaged communities, aged 5 – 35. We are focused on using the power of sport to help children and youth on their pathway to success. We are committed to the holistic development of each our participants, focusing on their health, education and personal development. Our programs improve education outcomes, raise sexual health awareness, promote gender equality and build life-skills. Our flagship program is in South Africa but we have satellite programs in South America, The Caribbean and Asia.

Youth For Understandingmultiple countriesCelebrate your next step in life by experiencing a new culture and building your language skills, all while staying with a volunteer host family in a foreign country! 13th Year programs allow students to participate in YFU's traditional Academic or Special Focus programs for a year or semester after they have graduated high school. 13th Year participants immerse themselves in the culture of their host country and make new friends while attending classes at a local high school.
