Second-year Mechanical Engineering student with strong background in Computer Science, Physics and Mathematics
I have experience as a Calculus I&2 tutor at Bard College, where I provided both group sessions and one-on-one support. In addition, I have helped peers with Linear Algebra, Physics, and programming concepts (Python and C/C++). I am skilled at explaining complex topics in an accessible way, and I enjoy working with students to build confidence in problem-solving.
High school and early college students, though I am open to middle school tutoring as well.
I am available for both steady tutoring and one-off sessions.
Available weekdays and weekends, both daytime and evenings.
Yes, I am available during both summer and winter breaks.
Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus I & II, Linear Algebra), Physics (Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism), and Computer Science (Python programming, C/C++, basic algorithms, HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, AI/ML Engineering and data structures).
I can also assist with advanced math enrichment topics, including problem-solving strategies and logical reasoning, as well as introductory programming projects and AI concepts for students interested in technology.

During my time as a contributor at The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE), I worked under the guidance of Andrew Belon (abelon@thecolloquium.org ) and Dan (CISSE board member) on the AvaSec Chatbot project, an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance conference engagement and participant experience. My role involved developing a robust backend system with memory support, multilingual functionality, and an integrated file upload mechanism, ensuring seamless interaction for users. Additionally, I collaborated with Vaibhav and other team members to prepare the project for deployment on AWS, which included setting up proper infrastructure, optimizing performance, and documenting the implementation for long-term maintainability. The AvaSec Chatbot is live and can be accessed here: http://98.83.90.144/avasec/ . In addition to this internship, I had the privilege of working closely with Charlie Durr (charlie.derr@singularitynet.io ), an AI professional currently working in the artificial intelligence industry, who mentored me on the fundamentals of machine learning, neural networks, and GPU-accelerated computing platforms. Under his guidance, I explored the implementation of deep learning models and successfully developed a digit recognizer neural network from scratch using NumPy, which achieved ~84% accuracy, as well as worked on a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based digital organizer. These projects allowed me to gain hands-on experience in AI model training, backpropagation algorithms, Xavier/He initialization, L2 regularization, and early stopping techniques, as well as practical exposure to leveraging GPU computing for large-scale model training. These experiences—both through my contributions at CISSE and mentorship from Charlie—have given me a strong foundation in AI/ML engineering, multi-disciplinary problem-solving, and real-world deployment strategies, while providing invaluable networking opportunities within the tech and academic communities.

I am interested in tutoring any kind of math. My favorites to tutor are Algebra and Calculus, but I love to teach any kind of math including K-8 math, geometry, pre-calculus, statistics etc.
I could offer students math enrichment via problem solving practice or real world applications. I have tutored AMC8 before, but my expertise is in developing a conceptual understanding of math, not succeeding in competition. I do not specialize in competitive math, but I can still offer support to students who wish to compete. For real world applications, I can tutor students in applying Algebra 1 content to financial math, or applying calculus to model real world problems. There are sooo many real world applications for math that I could tutor and would serve as a topic for enrichment.

Dr. Mary Krembs is one of my Bard professors. Her contact info is krembs@bard.edu. Jackie Goss is the mother of a student I tutor and a Bard professor. Her email is goss@bard.edu. Also, Beth is another parent of a student I tutor and her email is beth@mattgillis.com.

I believe in helping students build a positive relationship with math by making math learning fun, interesting, and challenging and by connecting mathematical concepts to the student's lived experiences. I hope to inspire a love for math in my students by showcasing its beauty and utility, and I hope to give my students confidence in their math skills by emphasizing the lessons learned from making mistakes. It is my job to help fill in any gaps in a student's math education so they can continue to thrive throughout their studies.
