To save for your personal use, simply click "File", then "Make A Copy".

Tracking your spending is a great way to insure you're using a realistic

spending assumption in your retirement plan.

Once you've tracked your spending for a few months, you can use the data to begin building a budget

To begin tracking your own spending, simply:

Click "File", then make a copy and save as your personal version wherever you do your work

Click on the "Month 1" tab below

For the first month, simply track every dollar you spend

Modify categories as appropriate (break out expenses that will discontinue in retirement)

After Month 1 is completed, Copy tab and paste as "Month 2"

Modify categories as appropriate until you're comfortable you've captured representative spending

Make sure you add categories for any new spending that will start in retirement

Use the "Retirement Spending Total" to estimate retirement spending.
