30 | To begin tracking your own spending, simply: | ||||||||
31 | 1) | Click "File", then make a copy and save as your personal version wherever you do your work | |||||||
32 | 2) | Click on the "Month 1" tab below | |||||||
33 | 3) | For the first month, simply track every dollar you spend | |||||||
34 | 4) | Modify categories as appropriate (break out expenses that will discontinue in retirement) | |||||||
35 | 5) | After Month 1 is completed, Copy tab and paste as "Month 2" | |||||||
36 | 6) | Modify categories as appropriate until you're comfortable you've captured representative spending | |||||||
37 | 7) | Make sure you add categories for any new spending that will start in retirement | |||||||
38 | 8) | Use the "Retirement Spending Total" to estimate retirement spending. | |||||||
