As part of our campus Affordable Learning Solutions (AL$) and Inclusive Access (IA) efforts, our campus is pleased to announce that we will be collaborating immediately with VitalSource for summer and fall course material adoptions and its course material delivery platform. Fresno State started IA in 2017 with 9 participating classes and 27 sections. By 2020, there were 833 participating classes with almost 2000 sections across all terms.

What accomplishments or wins are you most proud of this year?

We were able to begin our AL$ faculty champion program with an application process for each of the eight colleges. We currently have a faculty champion coordinator and seven faculty champions across each of the eight colleges and we have one AL$ coordinator. Fresno State is investing $43,000 in our AL$ faculty fellow program each of our colleges have a peer mentor that leverages zero cost materials in their own courses.

What are the greatest challenges or opportunities you have to address with your program next year?

Our greatest opportunity is leveraging the collective knowledge and committment of our AL$ faculty champions. Additionally, our partners at VitalSource will return to support and train faculty in supporting digital delivery of course materials at Fresno State with our office of IDEAS. All students taking courses where faculty members have adopted VitaSource IA materials will have access to their course materials on day one. In previous years, approximately 80% of students on campus were enrolled in one or more IA courses.
