1. 請問什麼是科學園區實驗學校雙語部?

What is International Bilingual School at Science Park Affiliated with National Experimental High school ?		科學園區實驗學校是指科技部為科學園區發展所需，而於科學園區內設立的學校，雙語部則是以雙語教學為特色的部別。
全國目前共有國立科學工業園區實驗高級中學雙語部(位於新竹市)、國立中科實驗高級中學雙語部(位於臺中市)及國立南科國際實驗高級中學雙語部(位於臺南市)三所。

National Experimental High School refers to the school established by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) for the development of the Science Park. The feature of International Bilingual School at Science Park is bilingual instruction.
There are currently 3 schools in Taiwan : IBSH (located in Hsinchu City),　IBSC (located in Taichung City) and IBST (located in Tainan City).

2. 請問什麼是外僑學校?

What are Schools for International Residents ?
外僑學校是指在我國境內設立且專門招收具有外國籍學生的學校。臺灣的外僑學校類型多樣，包含日僑學校、韓僑學校、美國學校等不同類型。

Schools for International Residents refers to the school established in Taiwan and specializes in recruit foreign student. There are various types of Schools for International Residents in Taiwan, including Japanese schools, Korean schools, and American schools etc.

3. 請問公立學校與私立學校之間有什麼不同?

What is the difference between Public Schools and Private Schools ?
臺灣的公立學校是指由中央政府、直轄市政府、縣(市)政府所設立的學校；私立學校則是指由學校財團法人依私立學校法所設立的學校。

Public School refers to the school established by Taiwan Central Government, Municipal Governments, and County/ City Governments. And Private School refers to the school established by school foundation in accordance with the private school laws.

4. 請問臺灣的教育制度中，除了國定假日外，還有哪些放假時間 ?

In additional to national holidays, what other holidays are there in Taiwan’s educational system?
臺灣的學校正式課程時間，每年大約自9月開始，並於6月左右結束。學校除國定假日及週休二日外，亦有寒假(大約1月底至2月初)及暑假(大約7月至8月底)可供學生自行安排學習及課外活動。

In general, school year in Taiwan starts around late August for K to 12 and September for Colleges and Universities and ends around the end of June. In additional to national holidays and Saturdays and Sundays off, you can plan to learn and arrange extracurricular activities in winter vacation (normally falls in late January to mid-February and Chinese New Year’s holiday usually falls in this period of time) and Summer vacation (usually starts July first and ends last week of August for K-12. For Colleges and Universities, it usually starts Mid-June and ends Mid-September).

Where can I find the admission information of the school I want to apply ?
您可於教育部海外攬才子女教育資源平臺之首頁，根據您的需求(居住地區、學習階段、學校類型)進行資料查詢，我們的系統便可幫助您查找是否有符合您需求學校的招生資訊。目前臺灣之各級學校也設有專屬網站，您亦可至各校之官網查找招生的相關資訊。


You can search for information according to your need, such as area you live, student’s grade level, type of schools on EPEC website. Our website will help you find admission information about the school that meets your need. Every school also has its own website, you can search for the school’s website to find related admission information as well.

Where can I find related information about applying for kindergarten?

您可於全國教保資訊網(https://www.ece.moe.edu.tw)之幼兒園查詢，依您的需求(地區、幼兒園名稱、幼兒園類別)進行基本資料查詢，並透過幼兒園官方網站或聯絡電話與園方聯繫。

You can search for kindergarten information at Early Childhood Education (ECE) website (https://www.ece.moe.edu.tw). You can search by location, kindergarten’s name, type of kindergarten and contact kindergarten via kindergarten website or hotline.

Foreigners have priority to enroll in International Residence Schools.
International Residence Schools can reserve spots for students of other nationalities. For more information, you can visit admission qualification on school’s website. (see Sheet 3)
