Army Special Rules

Ambushing PredatorsAt the start of the first battle round, models in this unit can make a Normal Move of up to 7". They cannot end this move within 9" of any enemy models

AuxiliariesA detachment consisting entirely of models with the <KROOT> keyword may be taken in an army consisting entirely of T'au Empire detachments, as long as this Detachment is no more than 25% of the combined points value of your army.

Battlefield EvolutionIf every unit in this Detachment consists of models with the KROOT keyword, they will gain evolutionary benefits as the battle progresses. At the end of each player turn in which one of the following criteria are met, choose one Evolution benefit from the diagram to the right. All units with this special rule gain this Evolution for the rest of the battle. Evolutions are cumulative, and Evolutions can only be chosen if the corresponding pathway has been previously selected.

A model with this rule destroyed an enemy unit in the Fight Phase
A unit completed the Cannibalise action this turn
A model with the Psyker keyword successfully manifested the Adaptive Tactics psychic power.

Note that there are other methods to progress along the evolutionary pathway besides these, but an army may never progress more than one stage in the same turn unless speficially mentioned.

Example: Charlie's army has completed the Cannibalise action and must choose Close Quarters Morphology as his first stage of evolution. The next turn he destroys an enemy unit in the Fight Phase and chooses Enhanced Metabolism. The next time he is eligible to choose an evolution he may only choose either Chameleonic or Unnatural Regeneration.

CannibaliseAny number of units with this rule may attempt this action at the end of the Movement Phase if it is within 6" of an objective that is not within your own deployment zone, or within 3" of a unit that is under Full-Strength.

Cannibalise - This action is completed at the end of the controlling player's turn. If the action is completed successfully, choose one eligible evolution from the Battlefield Evolution chart.

QuillAttacks made with a weapon with this rule ignore the effects of Light Cover

SlugThese weapons use integrated Tau capacitors to launch simplictic projectiles at phenomenal velocities. If an attack with a weapon with this rule rolls an unmodified 6 to hit, that attack automatically wounds the target.

Stealthy HunterEach time a ranged attack is allocated to a model with this rule while it is receiving the benefits of cover, add an additional 1 to any saving throws made against that attack.
