PD: OCT 2013
EB2-- > EB3 Downgraded
FO: Los Angeles CA
Job Portability: Moved from A employee to B employee (direct Client) after 180days of filing the i-485
Step 1: Security check (like airport security check scanning etc.)
Step 2: Finger print and photo will be taken in the window counter
Step 3: You will be called by the assigned officer.
I was will prepared took all the necessary documents with me.
The officer was polite and friendly, we were taken sworn and went along with the lawyer to submit the supplement J ( i-485J) in case if my wife was interviewed separately but luckily where interviewed together. I told to the officer not working with employee A moved to B new employee with the portability AC21 after 180 days. (As per the attorney guidance)
Basic question where asked (Name, date of birth, address, Number of marriage? num of kids? based on 485 forms and (Yes or NO) questions. Very friendly talk.
2 mistakes were found
Address change - -rectified in the hard copy of i485 by the officer got signature from me and wife.
Marriage date (supposed to 9/9 written 9/11) - -rectified in the hard copy of i485 by the officer got signature from me and wife.
Address change proof: Lease agreement, Bank document, Health, and Car Insurance submitted to the officer as per his request.
where a copy of supplement J( i485 J) where sent to the mailroom(to interfile) by the attorney before the interview ( 4 days back). But It reached the mailroom.
The Officer was trying to review in his computer about supplement J, no info was updated in the computer.
When my attorney trying to give a hard copy of supplement J to the officer. He refused to accept because he has to prepare the Notice in order to accept it. I feel weird (looks like he didn’t like the attorney present) by the way he explained to my attorney RFE will be raised.
My attorney requested any other info is needed? the officer replied “NO” and told has all the information, all he wants to review the case.
To my surprise, no question was asked about employee A as well as employee B? the interview was over in 30min,
While going out of the room he wants to take a copy of my driving license and my wife passport.
Overall, the interview was good with a positive impression.

Am*****Interview date: 7/7/22
FO: Newark, NJ
Interview was scheduled on the same day the tracker changed to 'ready to schedule an interview' (per EMMA's information) end of May. Interview letter mailed out the next day.
Wait time: 1 hour
Interview length: 30 min + 10 min in the end for the IO to issue a piece of paper stating the interview was complete.
IO said our interview could've been waived, but she was told they didn't have our medicals on file, thus the interview. However, she said shd found the medicals were attached to our files later on.
Questions:
1. Marriage date; DOB; how long have you lived in the current address; rental or property ownership; any children
2. Checked all original EAD cards; passports; visa stamps
3. Any 485J that can be provided
4. Since it's a downgrade, why were there multiple I-140s
5. Title of job/confirmation
6. How did you know your spouse
7. Any tax returns (IO mainly looked for and circled words for 'joint filing' as evidence of marriage) - provided 3 years
8. Yes/No questions (3-4)
9. Asked to sign on the application
Spouse:
1. Visa to enter the US (included some bait questions to test validity)
2. Currently working or not
3. Selected Yes/No questions (about 3-4)
4. Asked to sign on application
Conclusion by IO: said they would need to process the 485J first before approval, but it would be quick and would be processed within the FO (1-2 days). Afterwards the IO would recommend the case for approval. The whole process would take about 30 days.
A few hours later, tracker changed to 'interview was complete and case must be reviewed'
General impression:
The IO we encountered was very experienced and knowledgable about our application materials. For many of the questions she asked, we could tell she already had the correct answers in mind (it was a test only to see if they were satisfactory to what she wanted to hear). Our IO wasn't overly enthusiastic, but was reasonable/professional. Be 100% honest with your answers, because the IO had all your records on file and jotted down any questions she wanted to ask much earlier. The interview was not difficult at all, but there were just a few questions that were unexpected (bait questions), but as long as you were honest with them, it was OK (the IO knew it too).
The timeline followed what the IO told us. We received the 485J receipt on 7/16 (notice and receipt date was the interview date 7/7). 485 status changed to card being produced on 7/20/22 while 485J status changed to 'interview was complete and must be reviewed'. 7/21/22 All 485 and 485J changed to 'case approved'.

bhanu485Interview Date 05/02/2022 -7:15 AM PD: Dec 2012 Eb2--> Eb3 and Interfiled Newark FO, Both Husband and Wife Pre Interview Exp: Went to check in line. Verified Interview time and proceeded to security. same like Airport checking Except you can take water. went to 14th floor. Another Security officer verified the ID and Proceeded to Waiting area to Window2. He asked for Original letter, Passports. He pulled up my file and ask us to wait. After waiting for 20 min, our office came and request to submit all documents we brought. we thought she is going to take us to her office but that’s not the case. so we gave all originals to her and she said she will review and come to us. so we are back to waiting. after one hour, she came and took us to 16th floor her office. Regular Oath that I will tell all truth...
She said she will start with my wife since it would faster.
Name, DOB, Birth Place, Parents name, their current location, no of marriages, children.
She asked me same questions in my turn followed by Yes/No questions.
Citation came up and I told her that i miss understood and marked as NO but want to correct. it. Shared notarized Affidavit with all my traffic tickets. She took it and kept in file. She seems less concern about it.
She went through some questions and our answers were NO. Except VISA Denial questions, I said Yes for that as I have 221g. Again she is less worried about it and asked specifically on deportation etc... I said NO.
Later she started with my Employer questions.
Education qualification-BE, Year of degree, Employer name, current role, responsibilities, Employer address, any other locations in US - So I mentioned other locations as well. She asked employer locations outside US so I mentioned them, Where do I work?, my client name, does my client has other locations? do I always work from same location? I said sometime i got to go to client office in NYC since my client location in NJ and NY. Anyone else at this location from same employer? I said yes and given some range as I am not sure about exact number. Who I report to? and she asking direct reports until i hit the CEO in my hierarchy. Luckily it’s not big list for me so i remember all names and their roles and their work locations vs Remote.
Current salary, How do I get my pay? I said Direct deposit, Am I related to owners of Employer, or anyone who hold 5% share? I said NO, Where did I work previously? I worked with this employer from 2009. prior to that i gave her details about company in India. Luckily its same company for me. Have I worked for any other company outside my employer? I said NO. Last questions, do you wish to add more? I said I summarized my roles if she want i can provide more details. She just write that down.
The She asked my attorney who is on Phone any clarification. She clarified that My LCA allow to work out of any location in US etc, and She asked about Interfiling as I did have Interfiling receipt post Interview letter. Officer told us that you want to change base because Eb3 went back. I said Yes. She said she understood. But she seems don't know about recent interfile request that USCIS asked to submit.
After all she said she needs to review my case and will get back to me in 3 to 4 weeks. Held for further review. She handed the copy of sworn and Interview completion letter which first options checked.
Update: 5/16 got approval notice.

chi chiHello... My interview was with San Fernando Valley field office in Chatsworth CA (Suburb of LA).

PD: may 11 2010 eb2
Series: MSC219143***
RD: June 8 2021 after 2 rejections due to USCIS error. Original filing was oct 27 2020

Pre interview experience: It was at 9.15 am and we were there around 8.15 am. There were small li9 amnes for 8.30 and 9 am. The officer gave a small speech abt security screening and let us in with the 9 am batch. Similar to airport security. We cleared everything and sat in a large room (room #120) where there were H1 visa interview type of windows. We stood in the line, collected the token upon getting our invitiation letter verified. Then we had to sit and wait for 90 mins before an officer called us in.

Interview exeperience:
Officer: kicked off by saying sorry I had to keep you waiting. You have done your part by providing us with all the documents but I have a huge trail of documents still pending to go through. The interview will be very short and to the point however I may need upto 60 days to review everything and make a decision.
Me: That is fine. It would help my travel if issued slightly early.

Officer: Do u have a 485j for your employer porting? ( I did not know how he knew that I was already porting. I said nothing abt it. It was a mystery for me)
Me: Handing it in a envelop and here it is officer.

Officer: Okay I will review this after the interview and reach out to your employer IF any more info is needed.
Me: Sure. They have also submitted a letter for Same or Similar Job details. He nodded and said yes.

Officer: Sure. But I recommend you maintain your H1 Status. It is the most privileged visa that lets you travel while your AOS is pending. A lot of other visas wud not let you travel when AOS is pending so you are good.

Me: Thank you for sharing that.

Officer: Okay lets go through both of your I-485s together and I will ask you the same questions to both of you and this will be very quick.

We both: Yes we are ready.

Officer: Your name

we: said that

Officer: Date of birth

We: said that

Officer: Yes/No questions abt arrests, misrepresntation, fraud etc. May be 5 questions.
We: answered it

Officer: First names of our parents
We: I ended up saying the full names instead of first name and later realized he asked only first name. He did not seem to mind.

Officer: Any other questions for me?
We: The date of birth for our parents was incorrect so we wanted to get that corrected. Took correct dates and got a signature on 485 with us.

Officer: Well now it is my time to review everythign and make a decision. Like I said it can take upto 60 days.
We thanked the officer and left.

Overall a cool interview but we don't know what he was doing for these many days and why he suddenly needs more days to review the docs. He had about perhaps 500-600 pages of my papers in front of him. I suspect that there were previous H1b copies also were in there basically everything under my A#. The interview was over by 11.30 am and we were out. Very easy parking for free in the deck across the street. Most of the appointments were for citizenship and oath and we did not see a single case of EB2 India in the entire waiting room. Now the waiting game. Good luck to everyone.

ChintanInterview on 21st Jan, 2022 at Sacramento field office..after oath and biometric, officer started with asking information from 485 form ..name, dob, questions about kids all yes/no questions and citations (i mentioned that i had one in 2012 and he took a note of it) ..he went through the same for my wife…he asked for joint account proof so i provided copy of mc, health/home insurance..he asked for photos together which we didnt have print so he saw those on phone…we had interfiled medicals but somehow he had medicals on file for me only and not for my wife so he asked for it..i provided medicals for both of us so he opened immediately and verified it. (Note: after interfiling the medicals i had requested an FOIA for my wife and i had received copy of medicals along with 485 so it was surprising that medicals were missing) …overall interview was straight forward and took about 20 minutes..i am not current as of now because my PD is feb 2013 so he said he can’t approve and our case will be sent back to NBC and will get processed once i become current…i carried 485j and EB2 i140 approval copy and asked if i can interfile now ..he said he doesnt need those documents because USCIS will approve in whichever category i am current when date becomes current (hope this happens) ..also he mentioned that it may take 6-7 months for approval..i said i am just one month away from being current so he said but there are many pending applications from india so i guess it will take little longer…

GreeneddddInterview date, time and office - March 4, 8:10 am, Fairfax
Experience:

Reached the location around 745 and parked at the metro station across the road. Passed the security check and proceeded to the waiting area on the second floor. Wait started around 805 AM.

Officer called out my wife's name only at around 8:35. I took a chance and walked along with her. Officer didn't say anything and asked both of us to follow him into the office.

He had us take an oath and asked to take a seat. He said he'll ask questions and we should take turns and say Y/N. He walked through all questions. He then asked a couple of questions regarding what I do at the job and about the company merger thing that happened a couple of years back. He did not ask me for any other document. None! He asked if there is anything I would like to give. I gave him the new sealed medical packets and the employment verification letter. He finally asked, 'Is there anything else you would like to tell me? The time is now!". We said, nope!

He finally said. I will do one last security check but it looks like an approval. You should hear back in 2-3 weeks. That's about it.

We were out by 9 am. New card produced on March 31. Good luck to all!

GVInterview was done in 15-20 minutes, was done for both primary and dependents together, just asked the questions from 485 and yes/no, did not ask for any documents. IO said the case looks approvable but as dates retrogressed the application will be sent back to NBC.

KannanFO Oklahoma City. Told officer before interview started that we had to amend my wife’s 485 form Yes/No questions due to typo error by attorney. Officer had puzzled look on his face and asked which question and we told him. He said the only reason we didn’t qualify for a waiver was due to that question being marked as a No. We chatted for a few minutes about that question and he asked both of us to provide original documents- passport, EAD, SSN, birth certificate and marriage certificate. Validated a few dates on the 485 form, asked DOB, marriage dates and randomly asked a few Yes/ No questions regarding criminal activities. At the end, said he will approve our GC today and we should get it at our address within a week or so.

KNMy interview was at San Jose FO at 10:15 AM on 3/23/2022. We went inside around 10 AM and got checked in. We were called in for the interview after another 5 mins.

The interviewer asked me to show our original Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate. The interviewer then asked me some of the the details I entered in I-485 (Name, DOB, date last entered US, Current address, Job title, Job Duties, Parents name, How may Kids).
Then they asked my wife the details from her I-485 (Name, Address, Date last entered US, DOB, Parents Name, Previous Employer Name).
Then they moved to the Yes/No questions.
Then we were asked to share any documents that we didnt already submit related to employment and Marriage.
We submitted EVL, W2, IRS Transcripts for Employment proof and Bank Statements, Lease copy, Insurance copy, cell phone bill for joint account proof.

KRRInterview was in the morning at 7:45 am, the IO was polite and had to go thru the I485 questions together with both me and wife. In regards to the birth certificate, he said the registration date does not match with the date of your birth year and said he has everything he needs and told to expect an update with in 30 to 45 days. He gave us the form with the interview completed and needs to review option checked, the status changed to "Interview completed and needs to be reviewed". Good luck everyone.

MK03/29- Interview went very well and it was very quick and smooth. She is very calm and polite. It took around 25 minutes whole interview.
After security check up, Officer took us to her cabin and took oath from us.
Below are few documents asked to show. I took the copies of each of them below and it helped to give her the copies.
-Medicals (In front of us only opened and stamped )
- 485J
-EVL
-Offer letter(Sponsor)
-Passport/EAD card
-All previous H1 approvals

Post to that she mentioned that all looks good and gave a generic answer like will review share the decision in 30-60 days.
But she appreared very positive and satisfied.
3 hours after the interview, status changed to "Approved" for both myself and spouse.
24
MPThe officer told us to being with that it is going to be pretty quick interview considering the file.
Rather than going one by one, the interviewer went with same questions with me and my wife at the same time.
The requested originals were passports (all), birth certificates and marriage certificate.
Went through details like names, parents names, citizenship of country, date of our marriage, last entry to USA, current address, since when we are living on the address, Job title and job description.

Pretty much all the Yes/No questions from I-485 for both of us at the same time.

At the end of the interview, we have been told that our file is complete and I will recommend for adjudication and since we are not current the file will be stored at NBC/TSC and will be apprpoved once PD is current.

FO - Newark NJ
For PD/RD - please check my telegram name.
Interview date - 7th Feb 2022 @ 7am EST
Reached at - 6.35 am in the queue ( we were 4th in the queue ), later after 6.50 , queue became big ( around 20 ) but not very big.
Our attorney ( my employer paid for her ) joined us around 6.45 am est and walked us through next processing ahead. Based on her demeanor , I realized she is quite well known in her. Because of her , the security guard etc greeted us and let us in without even checking out interview letter/passport/DL etc.
Building opened at sharp 7 and went through airport style security . Then elevator and reached to 14th floor.

On 14th floor , there was a big waiting hall with 5 -6 admin counters, out of which only 2 were functioning. We went to left one, where Adjustment of status was tagged. ( Right one was for citizenship. ) We gave our interview letters, our files were located and entry was added in the system. The person there kept the interview letters. He asked us to wait ( my attorney was already aware about all this and so we navigated quite fast compared to others through all this ) .

We grabbed the seat and wait begins. It was 7.20 am est. My attorney started preparing us for interview . She informed there are 3 types of officers here at this center. Most of them are good ( who will review files for 15 30 mins, then call us , 5 mins of questions and answers, any other clarification and then we are out ) , 2 officers are good but very slow ( who will review files for 1 to 1.5 hrs, then will call us, will go through some basic questions but very slowly and let us out in 10 to 15 mins ) . And there are 2 officers , who are extreme through. If we get this last category officer, ensure not to loose temper . If you don't know anything , tell them I don't know or I will have to get back to you on that. Worst case they will issue RFE but nothing that we can handle. Also these 2 officers gives BAIT ( like they will say half correct information and expect us to correct/complete that info. If we do not correct then they think something is fishy and grill further ).

Around 8.05 am est, officers started coming and started taking the cases assigned to them . They were coming and calling by name. ( Note - not necessarily that if you were 1st in queue , outside building, means you will be called first ). Around 4 officers came and picked up their 'cases' and left . Every time , my attorney was saying this is great officer or slow etc. But as the more time passed, she kinda hinted us again on BAIT thing. Possibly she got a sense that we may end up with 'difficult' officer .

8.20 am est a lady officer came and announced my name and her office was right in front of hall backdoor ( exactly where we seated ) and so we didn't get a chance to ask our attorney - how is this officer. But I quickly sensed from attorneys face that , we are kinda having hard terrain ahead.

8.21 am EST - Officer took us to her office, asked to raise hand ( I raised both like surrender, she asked me to put down left hand ;-) ...honestly it was really a surrender in front of this GC process since last 16+ yrs I am here !! ) and then we took oath. No finger prints etc. We seated on adjacent chairs with masks on , in front of officer. Attorney seated on a chair behind us. There was a temporary glass barrier ( like we find in CVS/Homedepot/wallmart etc in front of billing counter ) , with a small passage at bottom to exchange documents in betn us and officer.

And conversation begins ( with me, since I am primary ) -

Emma - Eb3-PDjan13-RD4nov20 ND18feb21-BM18may21, [2/8/2022 11:34 AM]
1. Officer asked me about my previous i-140. I told her it is irrelevant now and requested her to only consider current employer's EB3/Eb2 i-140. My attorney provided porting request and 485J etc and requested officer to consider me under EB2. Officer asked if I am current to which attorney said , he missed by 18 days in EB2. Office said, I checked in the morning and he was current. Attorney said, may be you checked march VB. ( I am puzzled - march VB is not out yet , but may be these officers have early access to VB !!....I forgot to clarify this post-interview with my attorney though )
2. Q Birth date ; answered
3. Q Last entry date ; answered
4. Q EVL, W2s, last yr TAX docs , all passports till date - provided
Officer went through very quickly and asked W2 amount and Tax amount won't add up.
Provided wife's W2 also and told her this tax doc is married filing jointly. Wife is on her independent H1B status.
5. Q - who is you employer and how do you pronounce ; Answered
6. Q - So you were on h1b all the time ; answered : yes
Officer then asked how about B1 visa. ( I visited USA in 2006 for 3 months on B1 visa which I did not tell officer explicitly , the moment officer asked me about B1, the "BAIT" thing triggered in my brain. ). Then I provided all information on my B1. The passport stamp copy as well as I extended B1 for 15 days and the I-539 exten copy /receipt number ) . Officer , kinda with unhappy face, took all docs but I sensed, I am victim of BAIT here and so became careful about all the questions hereafter.
7. Q - So you have 3 driving tickets . ( my driver NJ abstract was showing only 3 but in real I have 4 NJ tickets and 1 in Florida ) . ; I corrected officer and told her to please update my page 20 of 485 to reflect additional driving tickets. Officer went through each and every ticket, date it happened, date I paid. I gave all tickets copied ( I wasn't having real tickets except Florida one , but NJ MVC website copies along with payment receipts , provided ) .
While going through each and every ticket some remarks came my way ( "you are man of god damn hurry", "I have never seen a person with these many tickets", "Do you drive like this in India ?" ( to this question I answered, "I don't drive in India", otherwise I kept mum to all other remarks ) . She grilled my Florida ticket followed by remark at the end - you are doing these offenses not only in NJ but other states too. I kept mum. Wife tried to intervene - Officer replied her - " I am not talking to you, I have checked your records too and you have driving tickets too !". Wife silenced !!
8. Q - Officer kept my file aside and picked up wife's file . Same driving ticket grilling, some nasty remarks and a BAIT - so you have only speeding and stop sign tickets but no DUI, accident , misdemeanor , arrest. Wife corrected, I had a minor accident in 2007. Officer asked for docs related to it. There was none except Geico claim docs. Provided docs and officer added those to wife's file.
A remark at the end directing to my attorney who was seated behind both of us "I have never seen a couple with these many tickets !" . Attorney said "I know". Me and wife kept mum.
9. Officer picked up my file again, asked about kids, their DOB , birth certificates and said I will make copies . We had copies with us so we directly gave her copies. Told her they are born here and USA citizens. Officer asked where are they and told her at school, neighbors gonna drop them to school today.
10. BAIT - So we vetted both of your birth certs and they are fine. Both of you were born in hospital. ; I corrected, I was born at home and not in hospital. ( but this is something new to me that USCIS checks birth cert , and how ? My remote town in India will not even reply to call/email from USCIS , how come USCIS is verifying this !! ?? Anyhow , I don't care, it is verified already !! ) .
11. Q - are you arrested , DUI etc ever other than parking tickets .; answered no

Emma - Eb3-PDjan13-RD4nov20 ND18feb21-BM18may21, [2/8/2022 11:34 AM]
12. Officer saw on 485 , my affiliation to NY blood bank. Suddenly tone changed. Some soothing - "So you are doing good". I sensed the tone and threw a patriotic dialog " I always like to pay back to the community to which I belong ". I took out all my blood donation history since 2006 and showed her. She asked specifically on the gap in 2013, 2018 and 2020 ( I visited in India in those yrs so for 13 months can't donate blood ) . Explained her. She became happy. I was having continuous blood donation history every 45 days and that impressed her !! ( Sala ek GC ke liye khoon bahana pada !! )
13. Officer suddenly started wrapping my file then. "Everything looks good in your case. Let's review hers. "

To wife ( derivative ) -
14. Asked for marriage photos , wife provided. Officer kept one photo and stapled to her 485 file.
15. Asked for insurance docs. Provide Geico and United healthcare coverage docs . She kept all.
16 Q - Any other proof ? ; provided house property tax docs. She kept copy of that. Provided last refinance doc ( she reviewed each and every page but returned the entire bundle ) .
17. Q - why you chose to be derivative , I see you have own 140 too with same PD. Wife corrected that PD is of same year but behind 5 months of husband so we preferred to file against earlier PD.
18. Q - job duties ; answered ( officer already was aware about it and commented that it matches to your job disc. on the file )
19. We both provided our new medicals though we interfiled in july and FOIA didn't show those in Nov, they were in the file !! Still we gave new medicals, Officer took those and attached to our files.
20. Alright all looks good . If date would have current , I would have approved. However since date is not current , I have to send file back to NBC. Please wait in hall and I will provide receipt of this notice. Time was 9.10 am est.

9. 23 am est - We waited in the waiting hall and officer came in 5 mins with 2 letters ( one for me and other for wife ) with a checkbox checked where it was started file will be sent to NBC/Texas etc.

9. 30 am est - We went to parking lot and status changed to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Be Reviewed". Honestly, I believe this is nothing but a generic status and there is nothing left to review. Officer was ready to approve ( if date would have been current ) .

Asked a few yes/no questions, last international travel. We were asked to submit the medicals as we had not submitted it with application. We voluntarily submitted w2, pay stubs and EVL. He said he would look at the files and make a decision. If at the time of decision, we are not current he would send the file back to NBC.

Rg#511We went in on to the interview in San Jose, very standard interview. Officer asked all the questions, took around 45 minutes. Officer seemed to know all about EB3 and EB2 issue, told that he could not approve that day. He did mention that i can interfile after i became current. I asked him to interfile right there, since i was sure EB2 will become current soon. He agreed, printed out a request, asked me to sign it. That was it for the interview. Case status changed to "New cad being produced" on March 24, 2022, 24 days after date become current.

Rungood04/04/2022 -- Interview done in Dallas FO. Interviewer asked the yes/no questions ,DOB , my name . Asked if I brought any documents for him. I provided paystubs and EVL. He checked paystub and asked if I had march paystub and then siad this is 485 and he doesn't need them/care for them. I volunteered about speeding tickets. I looked for them in my binder . Was unable to find (nervous much). He said he doesn't care. Really chill dude. The real interview starts now. Then he told me there will be some voluntary information questions because of who I have been working for. I was free to leave .But should I choose to my petition could be denied. He was very friendly and seemed sympathetic to employees of such companies.Questions :- who interviewed in this company ,do they pay when you aren't working , have you worked on internal project . List and timelines of each client worked at , He was a very friendly young guy and he seemed to have genuinely felt I was qualified for the Card as all of us are. I was very nervous otherwise .He said there might be some ongoing issue with my H1 employer . But it wasn't my fault and isnt employees fault almost always . He printed my answers to above questions and got me to sign. He said he will recommend for approval ,hopefully by EOD . My status changed to card being produced in about 2 hours after the interview. Interview itself lasted about 20 mins .I took an attorney but she wasn't of any much need. She was good for small talk with VO .She knew her way around the place. Good luck you all . your number will come shortly.

SGthe officer told us to being with that it is going to be pretty quick interview considering the file.

SriVan4/4/2022 - Interview done in Dallas FO. Asked questions about personal information like DOB, address, marriage, children, employment history and I485 questions. The officer kept asking more questions about previous employment. Asked for Pay stubs from the time entered into US which I could not produce right then. Spouse was asked basic questions like Dob, kids and if working. My old employer has problems, but my current employer is fine. She asked if I have any questions, hearing the tone I did not think it was good idea to ask anything. She did not give any update on next steps and walked us out. Fingers crossed and waiting starts…

surajunni11/16/21

Our interview was this morning and lasted a total of 30 minutes.

Officer name is Mao. I was asked to provide employment related documentation regarding my case. I was working for another employer when my 485 was filed in Oct 2020 by my original sponsoring employer. I stated I have been working for my sponsoring employer since Jan 2021 and provided the EVL, photocopy of my company ID, company tax records, paystubs since Jan 2021, IRS transcripts (4 years) and W-2 copies (10 years). I had originals of all my documentation and copies as well just in case.

We went through the entire 485 questions for my wife and I at the same time, the officer had the entire package in front of her. We had moved, so provided the new address, she also confirmed that it is updated in the system as I stated I had submitted AR-11. She asked for reason for changing employers. I also changed my answer to citations from No to Yes and provided evidence that all were addressed/dismissed. She recorded the changes on the physical form and got our signatures.

She said interview is completed and no further information is requested from me at this time. However, she did not have our physical I-140 petition to attach to the case. Since the case is from 2010, the petition is in the record archives in Lee Summit, MO. She asked if I was working on my EAD or under H1-B. I stated under H1-B and provided a copy of my approved I-797. She also asked the H-4 approval for my wife. I was given a form stating case under review. My online status changed 30 minutes after the interview to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Be Reviewed". Keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck everyone.

Thiru RamasamyWe had an interview at Raleigh,NC FO at 10 am. We reached the parking area around 9:30 and checked-in at 9:45. They checked-in via iPad and asked us to sit in Room # 5. Nobody was there in the room except for the iPad and the officer was online. He greeted and first asked us to show the ID proof and also asked us to sign a waiver as our form had been filled by an attorney and we went to the interview without an attorney. And also he asked whether I have medicals to submit. After that he was looking at the 485 form and started asking all the basic questions like what's your full name, date of birth, when did you last enter the US, have you ever held any other visa, which company are you working for? Are you working with their client, what's the client name, how long have you been working with the client. Have you ever visited your employer? He somehow found that my employer is a small consulting firm so he wanted to check if I ever visited. I replied yes, I visited once or twice. He asked how's the office? I replied it's a small setup office. He asked if anyone else ever filed an immigration petition for you? I replied yes, one of the clients I was working with wanted me to hire so I asked the client to file the petition. So then he asked have you ever stopped working for your employer and I said no. After that he went through all inadmisible questions of i-485 where I replied 'No' except for the citation question where I mentioned that I had a speeding ticket. He concluded his interview with me and started asking the same sort of questions to my wife. After that he told me that I need you to sign one final form so I am coming to you. He came and got our signatures and told us that I am approving your application and I hope there is nothing in your medicals. I replied no issues in medical. He said you should get your Green Card within 7 to 10 business days. If you are not hearing from us then give us a call after 30 days. Overall it took around 20-30 mins. Once we came out and check our status after about 20 m

I interject, and say she is derivative, still persists, asks if she has her pay stubs (which we had, thankfully)
Ask what is current address, searches for the address in google, which was a bit funny.
Ask her employer name, job title, her visa denial (she was denied a visitor visa, before she was came on H1)
Asks if she had been arrested, had shared confidential information
Asks when and where we were married.
Asks for shared bank statements (we give shared bank account, mortgage statement, and property deeds having both names)
Was convinced by the property docs, and said these would be the best to include in the application

Starts thumbig through my thick file (since 2002, when I came on F1), like fanning through the file, without reading anything
Complained that whoever filed, my application didn't do a good job.
And then seemed to indicate interview was over, asking us to go back to waiting area and wait for 20 mins (max)
I ask him, what about medicals, and he says those are very important and asks for them, we both hand them over
Go back to the waiting area, and wait maybe 30 mins
Comes back with my original CA ID and Social Security card.
Tells my wife it was very difficult to get her approval as her prority date is in 2015 (i panic)
I ask him, that she is a derivative, and what about my green card
He says my case was easy, and he was able to "work hard" to get my wife an approval as well (whew!)
I ask him so both of us are approved, he says yes, 2-4 weeks for approval letter, 6 months for actual card
Done by 9:00 AM,
12:30 PM, get notified by USCIS, that card/document production, case status, for both me and wife

VarmaMy interview experience:

Priority Date: Oct 2012
Interview Date: March 16 2022
Time: 12:10 PM
Location: Fairfax VA

I parked my car opposite to USCIS office at Dunn Loring metro station and reached to USCIS office at 12:10 PM. we went 30 mins before to Security check and then checked in at front desk. We were asked to go to 2nd floor after check in and sit in lobby.

Officer called me in for the interview at 12:10. He Called me in first to interview and took me to his office.
Questions were pretty straightforward all 485 Questions abt my family and marriage and employer and few yes/no questions.
how did you find the Job and asked how many jobs did you apply approx?
How much did you make at the start and current pay?
Will you be with the employer after getting GC?
He started to ask abt the end clients as I work for a consulting company and said you can refer to notes.
I had all the client information in a Diary that I had on me and stared to refer to it.
The office became curious and asked if I dont mind can he take a look at the notes.
Not knowing what to say I gave the notes to him. He said this is all the info I am looking for and if i dont mind, he will take a copy and add it to my file. he was like you saved me a goood 30 mins time.
I was like I am fine with it and please go ahead. So he asked me to sign the I1485 and said need to do a final background check and it will take a couple fo weeks.
Also if he need any additions info he will send an RFE to the attorney.
Only Passport and Drivers Liicense were asked and nothing else, not even one document was checked.

he took the copies of my diary on the way out. Interview took about 35 mins.

My wife interview took about 25 min. She was asked pretty straightforward 485 questions and Marriage related questions and Job realted questions and Yes/no questions.

Questions : Before starting interview, she mentioned that the reason we are called for interview was because a company by name 'xyz' came up in our records and asked if we are aware of it. I said it is a sister company of my Employer(a Mid-size consulting company with around 2000 employees). IO: Did you work for that xyz company ? Me: No, I never worked for that company IO: Have you worked for any other companies in the past ? Me: Yes I have worked for a couple of companies prior to my employer. IO: I see that you are on a F1 Visa and graduated from 'ABC' University. Me: Yes IO: When did you graduate ? Me: Answered IO: Did you start working for your employer immediately after graduation. Me: No, I worked for 'AAA' company. IO: Do you happen to have any proof or document ? Me: Gave her I-797 approval from that employer. She asked for Copy, gave it to her. IO: Which company did you work after that ? Me: Gave her I-797 of second company along with the copy IO: These are very helpful, I will keep them on the file. So after this you joined your employer ? Me: Yes IO: Can I have the I-797s from your employer ? Me: I gave them to her. I have 7 from my employer including extensions/amendments and gave her the copies. IO: She very carefully made sure that she has all the originals and they match the copies, dates and then took all copies, added into my File and returned the originals. She said again, these are all very helpful for the case. IO: Started going through the 485 now - Asked Recent Entry Date, about 5 Yes/No questions. Only asked 'If I was arrested', I said No. IO: Took her own time to carefully arrange all supporting documents copies I provided her and added it into her file. IO: She asked me to sign a 485 document something related to Green card - I didn't read completely but signed and she put it in the file. IO: We have everything we need from you, so now lets move to your wife file. IO: Asked wife about address, how many children, took Birth Certificate for child and attached copy to her file IO: Asked for marriage certificate and copy and asked us to confirm the marriage date. Attached copy to wife file IO: She asked for supporting documents - We gave Bank statements, Lease, Auto insurance policy. IO : Is yours an arranged marriage - Answered. IO : Have you always entered US as a derivative or do you have any other visa - Wife answered she was on F1 Visa for a while IO: What did you study and where did you study - Wife Answered. IO: So your Birth certificates look good, I don’t need to see the originals, I verified your medicals from your doctor and they look good. Closed Wife file after carefully arranging all supporting documents in her file as well. IO: To me, So you have been refused your visa once. Me: No, My visa has never been refused. IO: Yes you have, the DOS knows everything. Me: But My Visa has never been refused (I have a clean record and don’t even have a 221g or anything. Not sure why she kept insisting) IO: This time a bit seriously - Yes you have. Me: (Didn't want to argue anymore with her, so I remained silent) Not sure if this is a BAIT question as other members have mentioned that she tends to ask such questions. As I didn't argue anymore, she did not bring up the topic again as if - past visa refusal is a not a big deal and will have no impact on GC issuance. IO: So, We have everything we need from both of you and your files look good, Is your date Current ? Me: Yes - My date is current. IO: Ok. So Your both files look good, but we will need to do some review about your employer. These Employment based Visa reviews usually can take a few weeks. But the good thing is you both don’t need to appear for another interview. If we need anything from you, we will mail you and you can respond to the mail. IO: Do you have any other questions for me. Me: My Wife's interview letter was only sent to lawyer and USCIS confirmed that they have my attorney address on file for her instead of my home address. (This is a USCIS mistake, the address we entered in the I-485 is correct) IO: Yes, I have noticed that and I have updated the address already. She printed out a paper with the first checkbox selected - Indicating - 'Your case is held for review' We will let you know if we need anything from you through a mail. Walked us out of the door. Fortunately, there were no rude comments from Karen to us but she is an old lady and extremely slow and thorough with her work. She didn’t seem very friendly and there wasn't any casual banter from her. She seemed like someone who is not gonna approve your Visa(GC) unless she is completely satisfied with every single detail of your case. She is very thorough with both our files prior to we stepping into her office. She has points noted down on a piece of paper as to what her concerns are and what she is going to ask us in the interview. 8:50 AM we are out of the interview 9:00 AM: Case status changed to 'Interview was completed and My Case be Reviewed'

Vijaya B PuliWe had an interview at Raleigh,NC FO at 10 am.

We carried a new set of medicals but he confirmed that Medicals and primary birth certificate are attached and are good. But he said I can take this new set as well as it won't be much work to attach these. He said your interview is done. He offered he can wait for a day and provide his approval tomorrow. It was my spouse's birthday on 30th and mine was also in the same week. He wished us Happy belated birthday. Interview Experience - Newark, NJ:

7.15 appointment, entered building
8.15 - officer came asked for IDs, Passport, EVL, EAD, Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificate and made copied himself and returned originals. He said will call in some time
9.00 - officer call us (me, spouse + kids) for interview in his room
- oath taking all of us.
- basic details for all of us including date of birth, current occupation including school details for kids, latest travel history of entering USA
- employment related questions for me - confirmation if same role as submitted during 485J during Oct 2020. I had a promotion but only designation change and role did not change - this was clearly captured in EVL so that helped.
- spouse was asked details on marriage date, etc.
- I was asked to confirm marriage date and details of spouse full name, spouse date of birth, etc.
- Kids were not directly asked to speak but we mostly answered on their behalf.
- Asked random security questions (Yes/No) questions to me and my wife
- Finally, officer asked if date is current and I said yes. He said they have to do security checks which typically clears immediately for kids but for adults could take upto 45 days to clear. So, mentioned that we can expect card around that timeframe.
- We had brought in new medicals as the one filed with 485 was more than 1 year old - officer said that was not required but said he will any way take it and file it with the case.
- Officer walked us out.
- Within a coulpe of hours after the interview, case status update to show "New Card is being produced"

For all of you waiting, hang in tight for the light at the end of the tunnel.

3/15/2022 - I had my interview at Dallas FO. Interview lasted for 2.5hours! My documents folder was about 20LB!
Approved next day.

Officer called out my name and took me to his office. He had a big file of physical documents with my A number on it. He first took my Oath.
He asked me if I got all the documents that was mentioned in my letter and then started going over each of them in order and punching and keeping it in my A-file.
Took my Drivers license, Passport,EVL.
Then he went over each and every question from I-485 starting from Part 1.
After going over this he said now I am going to record and take down everything you say so I can make decision on your case. He also mentioned that it is totally optional and if I want to leave I am free to leave and at any moment if I feel uncomfortable with questions I can stop and leave too. He then asked me shall we start? and started recording as well as typing.
Questions -
1) What is your full name.
2) Same questions that he asked me 10 mins back from I485 he repeated ALL OF THEM. I had one traffic ticket(speeding) for which I provided documents of fine paid, court dismissal record and course taken and he changed my answer (Q25-citation) in I485 form from NO to YES!!! then took my signature for this change.
3) Starting from most recent last entry into USA, he started asking my home location, work location, Employer details, Client details, Project details - so for me it was from last 8 years- all history.
4) For my present employer he started asking same questions but the focus was more on how I was hired, when I was hired and who hired me. Every minute bit of details. Starting dates, hiring dates when was H1B filed.
5) Then he focused on my day to day activities, job duties, technologies, reporting manager at client/employer, who does appraisals, company benefits etc.
6) It felt more like H1B visa interview. Officer was very serious and never smiled the entire interview.
7) He then asked if I had any documents to submit I gave him interfile request, all W2's,all experience letters from previous employers.
8) I asked him next steps to which he replied - he needs to review the file and if he needs any thing will send RFE to lawyer and me and if everything is ok then I will receive GC in mail in 2-3 weeks.

Overall the interview felt like H1B visa interview with focus on hiring/job duties and employee/employer relationship. At the end of interview he printed my responses asked me to review and sign.

Few take aways, that might help you -
1) Be confident in every response. Speak slow and clear. Keep eye contact.
2) Always speak the truth. If you are not sure, DO NOT guess. Just say, I don't remember or I don't know.
3) Carry all the documents that are requested in the letter. The officer who interviewed me was very particular and was going down the list of documents by order.
4) Dress well.
5) Do not volunteer information or provide documents unless they are requested or help significantly clarify a point.
6) At the end of interview depending on the officer personality ask - Outcome of the interview? / Next steps after interview? / When can I hear about the decision? / How satisfied is he with interview?
7) Speak Only when asked a question. Remember it's there "SHOW", you DON'T try to run it.
8) DO NOT make them mad. Calm them down. Talk politely.
9) Employment verification document is required.
10) Remember - Current job duties should match H1B petition and Future Job Duties(after GC) should match the PERM JD (Pg3 - Point11).

Interview went very well and it was very quick and smooth. Trainee officer and Supervisor are very calm and polite. It took around 40 minutes whole interview for me and wife. After security check up, went to waiting area. Officer called me in for the interview at 10:10 AM. He called me in first to interview and took me to his office. Questions were pretty straightforward all 485 questions about my family, marriage, employer and few yes/no questions. Same questions for my wife as well. At the end of the interview, officer mentioned he would review the file and let me know if he needs any other documentation.

VenkateshEB2 Straight, PD - Mar 2012. RD - Oct 28th 2021. BM - Dec 7th 2021. Interview Schedule Date - April 1st 2022. Interview Date - April 29th 2022 FO - Fairfax VA

Case Background: Received RFE to submit 485J on Dec 6th 2021. Attorney responded to RFE Jan 22nd 2022. Reflected in the USCIS system Feb 16th 2022. For my case there happened to be a duplicate 485 application that got submitted (not sure if my attorney messed up or it was from USCIS). I got multiple receipts for 485, 131 and 765 applications for both me and my wife. My attorney had sent a withdrawal request for one of the 485 applications.

Interview Logistics: My interview was in the Fairfax VA field office at 2.40 p.m. on 4/29/2022. I visited the place 1 day before to figure out the parking situation. There is a mall and metro parking right across the USCIS building in the prosperity drive.

Interview Experience: Overall the interview went on well. The officer asked first thing about the duplicate application. I told him not sure how it got submitted and mentioned that my attorney had submitted a withdrawal request. He checked on his system and mentioned that is was not getting reflected. He mentioned that it will be a big issue for him with the duplicate application and that if he approves one and denies other even after I get the GC there might be some issue in the port of entry with a denied 485 petition. I suggested to him that I can submit a withdrawal request right away. He initially mentioned that he is not supposed to ask me to withdraw a petition but did mention that it will really simplify his life if I did that. He suggested me to send a letter to the same field office or have my attorney do it. Later on during the interview I kept suggesting to him that since I am already here and I can write a letter and sign it to submit the withdrawal request. He went and checked with his supervisor and confirmed that they can take care of that right there and wrote up a quick letter which my wife and signed there so one of the duplicate petitions can be withdrawn.

He started reviewing all the 485 questions including the Yes/No ones. I had marked question 25 as Yes for Citation and he asked for the proof of tickets that I then shared. He then went over the same stuff for my wife. After that he moved over to my case and asked about the job responsibility whether it has since from 2012 to now given that my labor was approved back in 2012. I explained the difference and also submitted another copy of 485J which my attorney had provided a day before the interview anticipating this exact question and asked me to submit it if he had questions on job dutites. He then took that and compared that with the 485J submitted a few month back as part of the RFE response in Feb 2022. There were a few differences in the job duties that were listed and he mentioned and asked if the duties changed again. I believe what happened is that the job duties listed in 485J submitted in Feb was more close to the one listed in labor vs the latest 485J had more accurately reflected that I have moved to more of a managerial type role. The officer mentioned that it is not necessarily a bad thing to have the roles evolve but he needs to determine which 485J to use to adjudicate my case. He mentioned that if he is not able to decide then he will issue an RFE so he can get it in writing from me which 485J that he should use.

He asked questions around how I applied for my initial role back in 2010 whether I knew anyone else already in the company. My company got acquired in 2017 and he asked whether I had to reapply for this position or my role carried over. He asked whether I go to a client location or employer location and I mentioned both are the same for me and I work a s full time employee and not as a consultant.

I think that was mostly it. I asked him when I would know the updates on my case and he mentioned that as soon as he can and did not provide a timeline. He then walked me and my wife and on the way mentioned that he will look to approve my case as soon as he can.

AAReached the location 15 minutes prior to the scheduled interview time and checked in. An officer called us in after about 60 minutes of wait.
Officer asked several basic questions from I485 like employer name, location etc. and then a few eligibility(yes/no) questions.

Was not asked for any documents.
Officer then mentioned that visa is approved and that we should get the cards within 2 weeks.
Online status changed to ‘New Card Being Produced’ shortly afterwards.

BharryReached location an hour earlier. Was told tocome back exact 15 minutes before appointment time. Normal Security Check. Made to sit in waiting room. After 10 minutes officer called out name and took to the cabin.
Officer said he will ask all 3 of us questions seperately first and then some questions will be asked together.

Primary - All personal details - Name , address ,parents details, last entry, marriage date, company name, date of joining the company.
He said i see your medicals on file and those are valid for 2 years. So we are good there.
He said your company has filed in EB3 on Oct 30 and this interview is in response to that application.
I said my company has interfiled to California address in the last week of March(2022).. He said she does not see interfile request in the system.
I told the date the Interfile request was sent. He checked something again in system and said he did not find the Interfile request. He asked if the request included the I485J as well. I said Yes.

He then said ok lets continue with Questions.

He then asked all personal questions to wife and same questions to my son.

He then asked around 15 Yes/No Questions. She said all 3 should answer together.Need to hear all threes voices clearly.

Asked if we have ever used a J9 visa? Said No.
After that he asked me if I had the current valid H1/H4 petition for the 3 of us. Gave the copy.

I asked if he needs to see any other document from me. He checked some things in physical file and said does not look like he is missing anything else.

He said she cannot approve till he gets the Interfile request. He said he will do some more checks to see if there is an interfile request for me and might take a few days.

Overall the officer was polite and courteous. Officer escorted us back to the waiting room.

At this point i think its a wait and watch game again. Status still shows " Interview Was Scheduled"

ME: Again a question from my list. Gave a thought and spit out.

He also asked my lawyer some legal questions and they both also had a talk for a while. He said everything looks good and started looking at his computer, I though he’s going to say the golden words. But then said, I will review your case one more time and you should get cards in hand in 3-4 weeks (template answer). Handed over a sheet that interview was completed.

PreethiI-485 Interview Experience (06/27/2022) Approved Date (06/27/2022 & 06/30/2022)

Reached USCIS office at 8:45am, interview is scheduled for 9:00am. The security was just like in airport, they asked your interview letter and asked me to remove your belt, shoes etc. after the security check we took lift on the right to second floor and entered to Window named#230 there are small window counters where they will ask your id and interview letter took biometrics(left and right index fingers) and clicked a photo of us, and entered into the system and wrote a number on the letter and asked to go to room#220 on the right.

After reaching the waiting area for room#220, they will be calling your name. Sat in the area at 9:40am.We were called in 5 mins after sitting in waiting area. Visa officer came in asked me to come in and asked my spouse to join also.

Officer escorted us to her cabin, where we were asked to raise right hand and take an oath as I swear whatever I say is true. She asked us to sit and we were wearing masks and there is a glass between us and her, officer has a computer in front of her and opened our files and asked that she will say the same question for both of us and we answer them.

She then asked if we have an attorney and i said NO, then she took a printout saying that no attorney is representing and asked us to sign. ( before giving us our letters to sign she showed our signatures and verified if those are ours).

(Same questions for me and my spouse)
Went thru personal info filled in the i485 applications like

SRRFiled Office: Philadelphia

We were scheduled for 9:15 AM and were called in by the USCIS officer at around 9:30 Am. He (USCIS officer) was professional and courteous. He asked a few Yes/No questions from the 485 application -confirmed that he is not making any changes to our file and made me sign it. He asked similar Yes/No question to my spouse, made her sign the 485 application.

He (just) asked for my W2 copies, tax returns and pay stubs. During my interview prep time, I researched a ton and carried all possible documents to the interview (so much so that, if I were to even relocate to Mars, I could have established my identity). I'd say, its a good practice to have as much documentation as possible as this gives you the confidence to answer anything.

He checked if we had any questions -asked him why was our case called in for the interview -he said it was randomly picked up and there was nothing wrong nor there were any flags.

Interview/discussion/conversation lasted for around 20~25 minutes -we spoke about Indian and US politics, 2 party system vs multi party system; he was friendly enough to answer that he was from ********** suburbs, studied ********** college.

I am highlighting this friendly conversation to help future candidates to just relax (while preparing for the interview and while attending the interview)... there's no point in getting all worked up and be nervous (I was pretty worried myself)

Asked him if they (USCIS officers) read the comments in the forums and he acknowledged that they do sometimes read the comments -they are aware of all the delays, back log, back lash, etc. They cant help in fixing those issues but they (at least my case officer) seemed to be focused on clearing the files as quickly as they come.

Asked him when can we expect to get the GC, he mentioned that we should have it in our hands in 2 to 3 weeks.

The overall experience (from the moment I drove into the parking lot, through the security, registration, waiting area and the final interview) was positive and people were friendly (at the Field Office Philadelphia).

Note about Speeding Tickets: (He did not aske for any.) I had a few speeding tickets and fretted about not retaining the documentation -called various courts across a few states for my records but could not find any. I'd say, if you cannot find any documentation for old speeding tickets, you can ignore them and possibly mention (that you od not have records) to the USCIS officer.

Good Luck.

Ram vParking at 27 orchard street parking. There are parking spaces in broad street , mulberry street also. It cost me 21$ paid cash didn’t use card. 6:25AM to 9:15AM. This parking is behind the building. We were in line at around 6:50AM but most people in the line were for ICE so they separated when they opened at 7AM. At the entrance the security checked the interview letter and let you in, Airport style scanning but for us didn't ask to remove shoes but he was asking others to remove not sure if they go by type of shoes. Went to 14th floor the security asked for id and letter. Asked us to stand in counter 4 queue. In the counter the person checked our interview letter and placed it in the package they had. Around 7:45AM officer came and called us, he was holding the bundle (4 of us) and asked us to follow him. He took us to Floor 3 (info pass floor) waiting area and asked us to wait there. The officer looked relaxed; he came back around 9AM and informed us that everything is fine interview not needed. He confirmed if we are staying in the same address and said we will get the card in mail. I asked him if corrections can be done and he took just me to his office and went through it. While leaving asked for timeline and he said 2 to 3 weeks it will take for the card. Also checked with the officer about medicals and he said not needed. Asked me why I took new ones.

DMInterview at San Diego CA.
PD: March 2012 (Primary applicant/Spouse)
I was called for an interview for derivative application. My husband got GC in March. I also have my own 485 application as primary. Main reason for interview was because I have 2 applications on file.
Docs provided:
All passports, EAD/AP, kids BC, marriage BC, docs for confirming marriage (joint account/house title etc and photos).
Questions asked:
1) Why 2 applications on file – This was the main reason for interview.
2) How can you prove that you are the derivative. He asked for any doc from USCIS to prove that? (there is no proof as such. Asked him to check submitted 485 where I’m listed as derivative. Also have my husbands 485 receipt no which is just 1 no ahead of mine)
3) When did you get married
4) How many kids
5) Traffic citations
6) Last 5 years address and since when
7) Asked husband where does he work
8) general yes/no questions on 485.
He asked for correction in 485. I told about incorrect birth year for my dad and mentioned traffic citations all below $500. I offered my sealed medical envelope but he said he does not need one. The interviewer said GC is approved and should get it in 4 weeks at the end of it. Interview time: 8 am, new card is being produced: 11:40 am

Interview: 07/27/2022

We waited in lobby for 20 minutes before interviewer called us inside.
She started with oath and then asked for our original birth certificates. She mentioned that as original birth certificates are registered years after birth these are not valid and she needs an affidavit.( she checked some documents to make sure of India rules). She wasn’t sure so mentioned will check later on birth certificates and continued to next questions
she started saying that she didn’t receive our file from service center and she is still waiting for it. She went through page by page on I 485 and confirmed the details including yes/no questions. She took w2, tax returns, passport copies from us and mentioned that. As she doesn’t have any documentation with her, she started taking notes from opt start to current employment.
It took 1:30 hours and she took signature after printing out the complete notes. We asked for interview completion letter and she gave us. She mentioned that she can’t tell time line as she doesn’t have the documents yet and can be 6 weeks or more as per her.

Our status changed to interview completed and need to review after few hours
