Shaffer Family EndorsementFor those who don't know me, my politics are definitely liberal, though I would say I am fiscally moderate, believing in data and effective government providing value for tax dollars spent. I also lean towards "No" on propositions that mix-and-match topics to try to bring together disparate constituencies or which are too complex for the voter initiative process and should be handled legislatively.

GovernorXavier BecerraKatie PorterKatie PorterI like Katie Porter and would vote for her in a dem v republican general election, but I'm too worried about having to choose between the two leading republican candidates, so going with Xavier Becerra, as he is leading the dem field now.

ControllerHerb MorganMalia CohenHerb Morgan (R)Tough call, but actually I'm starting to like the Sac Bee and they convinced me here too. I also like the idea of voting for a republican when they aren't completely insane and especially at the state level. I would like CA to become a model of good government, which it clearly is not currently. If Malia Cohen wins, I will be happy, but given this is a primary, I'm voting for Herb Morgan.

Superior Court Judge Office 4Brian DonnellanNo endorsement, but article at: https://www.smdailyjournal.com/news/local/2-candidates-vie-for-san-mateo-county-judge-position-san-mateo-county-deputy-district-attorney/article_c1858048-05cc-457f-96b3-afbe076a1447.htmlOnly two candidates and I assume the top two make the general election. Since there's no real info I can find and both candidates seem fine, I'm voting for Brian Donnellan with no real rationale...
