Completing the Underutilized or Vacant Property Report

(1) List one underutilized or vacant entry per row in the template. Add as many rows as needed to include all underutilized or vacant property.

(2) Include the necessary information in columns (A-M) for each entry.

Region/Cluster: geographic region or cluster in which the property is located

Building Name: full name of the property
7
Grade Level Served or Built to Serve: grade bands currently serving or grade bands the property was built to serve (e.g., elementary, middle school, high school, K-8 school, etc.)

Address: street number, street name, city, and zip code

Current Building Use: direct academic instruction, administration, storage, professional development, or vacant

Enrollment Capacity: the maximum number of students that a school building can satisfactorily accommodate at one time calculated according to the TDOE fomulas

Number of Students Receiving Academic Instruction in the Building: the number of students that receive direct academic instruction in the building

School Utilization Rate: the extent to which a building is used by comparing actual student enrollment to the enrollment capacity of the school

Number of Classrooms Available for Use: the total number of classrooms in a building that vacant or underutilized
14
Support Space Availability: any space other than a classroom (such as office or storage space)
15
Purchase Availability: a purchase option could be available for the property
16
Lease Availability: a lease option could be available for the property
17
Comments: comments that provide additional details about the property, including, but not limited to, any deficiencies, available spaces, planned use, square footage, whole or partial availability, etc.
