05/02/2025 20:10:587NoIt's perfect for the business services currently on offer as they are a destination requirement. However, to grow the business, new lines of business that add to those already in place and which compliment each other are needed which would require a different location. The business needs more visibility as it's currently hidden away on a housing estate.YesAs a primarily a single product business, it's already hit its maximum turnover. Therefore, more affordable retail space in a location with passing trade would be beneficial.501N/aN/aThe internet connection is not brilliant, but works after a while on a morning. That may be my provider or problems with the construction of the building though.NoNoMost of my customers at the moment are locals who like that they can get parked for free next to my business premises. When I say locals, I also include owners of holiday homes and second homes as they also need picture framing done. However, locals appear to have abandoned the town centre due to the difficulty of parking in the summer and the rapidly reducing number of shops and services that are on offer that cater to their day-to-day requirements (e.g. banks, shoe and clothes shops, etc). A re-balancing of local housing for local homes as opposed to holiday accommodation is required, particularly in the town centre area.
The shops and cafes in the town that thrive on the trade from tourists also need to accept that they need local employees, something which has been a problem in recent years. Without local employees they cannot provide good service to their customers.
These local businesses also need to remember that local people also like to eat out and shop local, and maybe their only customers in the winter months, therefore, focusing purely on the needs of visitors is further alienating local customers.

Pay for a parking permit, but cannot always find a space, and have to park at the other side of town causing difficulties in carrying equipment stock etc. People need tobe able to access the town in order to visit, stay and spend money in our businesses.01N/AN/ABroadband/wifi/phone coverage are all poor.Road access is also another issue I often hear people give as a reason for not coming to Whitby.Yes we have had items stolen from our property (rear yard).Better allocation of funds, obscene amounts of money spent on unnecessary projects, some of which will reduce parking even further. More obvious areas of need in the town include schools, regeneration of areas such as "turning circle" or should I say repairs. Possibly more park and ride facilities to ease parking issues and making the town more accessible. We have a beautiful & unique town that is in danger of being ruined if it's future is not managed more cautiously. I believe decisions made on Whitby's future must have Whitby's long term future at their heart in terms of infrastructure and accessibility.
