Who qualifies?(Please note: both of the following conditions must apply) If you yourself have a health condition that poses increased risk for severe illness due to COVID-19 (per CDC) ***AND*** are unable to be vaccinated for medical or religious reasons:If you are the primary caregiver for a relative with a health condition that poses increased risk for severe illness due to COVID-19 (per CDC) and the relative is not fully vaccinated.If someone else in your household has a health condition that poses increased risk for severe illness due to COVID-19If you yourself have a health condition that poses increased risk for severe illness due to COVID-19 (per CDC) and have made all reasonable efforts to be vaccinated, you are eligible for a temporary telework accommodation to last no later than 14 days following your final vaccine dose.Employees whose childcare needs prevent them from attending work in-person.Elementary and high school employees who are not fully vaccinated

Options/alternatives if denied?If you have a high-risk condition as defined by the CDC, and are unable to be vaccinated for medical or religious reasons, CPS is required to grant your accommodation under the agreement. If denied, please inform your principal that CPS announced that you have this right under the new agreement and ask them to call HR. Then contact your CTU field rep. High school employees who applied by April 5 for childcare accommodations but who were not approved may take a unpaid, job-protected leave with full benefits, regardless of their vaccination status.

If ineligible for FMLA leave, apply for an unprotected, unpaid discretionary leave.
