It's absolutely hilarious, and kept me laughing nearly the whole time. The general editing was really solid, so no complaints there. Really good work. | Definitly had me laughing and excited while watching this. Solid editing. | This is another video that is BY an AMV editor FOR AMV editors. The added jokes are fantastic and range from commentary about the hobby itself to fun little bits based on the scene you're working with. I've gone back to watch it multiple times since it was first uploaded and each time I find some new type of hidden text that makes me giggle. The editing is very solid and the filtering you've applied to all the series helps it keep a very uniformed look that is greatly appreciated since you're using sources that vary a decent amount in age. Screaming Armin = Win The self depreciating jokes weren't really needed. There is no reason to add apologies for a good video. The commentary and ADD random comments are fantastic so you have to reason to be sorry. Some source had some minor issues with banding but nothing that ruins the video or anything. This is a video that is as funny as you want it to be. If you just watch for the silly anime characters doing silly things then it's fun and all but if you get in depth and find all of the interesting and hilarious commentary text you've hidden all over the place then it turns into a real gut buster. It's incredibly simple editing so I can't really give you credit for tons of effort or anything but for a video put together in less than 17 hours it's solid enough. (Ps. The lyric sync was fitting and I enjoyed the internal sync. The jokes weren't always all that funny, but you had some clever ones in there. | Hilarious that you tracked on the text on the boobs, but why didnt you do it for the 31 scene? | Love the framing device. Incredibly clever since it also counts as 90s audio due to Bebop being from the 90s. The level of technical polish is one of the highest we've seen. The nod to Space Dandy as the "brand new thing", Vanilla Ice gag, and the Grumpy Cat error message were really appreciated. Love 'em. I wish there weren't so many boobs and nippy nips as you so kindly point out. I would have loved to see a video like this play at a con but due to the content that's currently impossible :( It works as censorship but really limits the audience. This is probably my personal favorite of the 3 Pretty Fly videos. It's not the most hilarious video in the contest but it's incredibly well put together and custom jokes are always a major win. | This was slick. Great compositing and executed quite well. The biggest tech complaint is that TOKYO MX logo. With all the effects, seeing that logo bouncing around was a real heartbreaker. However this video is wicked fun and catchy. Also the speech bubbles in the middle of the vid have some noticibly jaggy edges. | Very addicting video, I enjoyed it. Pacing was great, and the effects were fitting...but why the logo?! D: With all the camera motion, it stuck out a great deal. Overall, fun video with very solid editing and nice typography, but I was disappointed that I kept seeing that logo. | The typography was hit and miss with me. Also that logo >.> Overall, enjoyed the amv. | You, little lady, OWE ME. This song was stuck in my head for a full 24 hours straight. The biggest thing that I /don't/ dig about the video is that TokyoMX logo. Watching it bounce along with all of the effects work you did was heartbreaking. It's like getting the sexiest outfit ever to wear but there is just this ketchup stain right THERE(You know where). You try to appreciate the sex that is the outfit but your eyes just keep getting drawn to that stupid stain. Please no more logos ;_; Pls. Beyond that, just be a little more careful with scenes you choose to roto. The primary one I'm talking about is the "multiply scene". It's forgivable to cut off the bottom but the top of the head cut off is a no-no. If all else, just try and stylize the roto a bit so the hacked off body parts don't stand out as much. This video isn't the best comedy video ever. For me personally, it really only meets the video genre requirement due to the custom text you added with your own joke about the monkey and such. BUT, it is a sexy dance/upbeat video. I'd love to see a finished logo-less version of this video. | Definately a fun high-energy video but I think overall it missed it's mark | |||||||||||||

Also, that old Trigun footage is an eyesore in comparison to the rest of the sources used. | Editing is smooth, and the concept is clever. I was definitely impressed with how well you blended your sources together throughout the majority of the video (the Trigun bit at the end was the only part that really stuck out). Loved the moments of internal sync, and I liked how you kept coming back to the text throughout the video and kept things balanced. | Love the idea! Everything seem well balanced and keep me entertained. In the beginning at 14 secs, that random black frame stood out. At the end, the old trigun source is definitly the worse part of the amv. Also I recommend you do some minor touchups (the shitty footage) and send this shit to all the cons~ | This video is incredibly ambitious and I respect the attempt. I really liked the brown haze color correction you added to try and keep the various sources looking flush. The video is relatively easy to follow. Also, LOVE that "you know they're gettin' sweeter" sync. Sexy~! Probably the biggest issue is the older footage. It doesn't blend well and it REALLY stands out in a not so good way. It probably would've helped to scale down the project to 848x480 if you planned on using older footage like that. Beyond that the video was rather solid. You already know that I adore the recursive editing, lip sync, and such. I would love to see a full video with more over the top goofy stuff and a little bit less shirtless men. While shirtless men are a wonderful thing it felt like the video relied a bit too much on it. Overall I felt like a large amount of the video relied on certain chunks of only a couple episodes with the primary one being the swimsuit episode + opening. This was a lot of fun to watch and I'm stoked to see some original animation in the contest. The effort is GREATLY appreciated. Now, I'm about to get in-depth nitpicky for this one because I really want to see it finished. - Brown hair girl needs a mouth for lip sync - Blue hair girl's mustache needs subtle movement for lip sync - Animation has weird stretching at time (easily the most noticeable on Blue's hair where lines disappear or get randomly really long.) - NEEDs the bouncing ball for the sing-a-long - Banging on pots and pans needs to hit a bit harder (needs a harder feel of impact when she slams her head) - And finally, you need the big finish that the original video has with the flashing lights and all. I love this video but it's so unfinished. Finish it and I'll buy you a sandwich or something. | Custom animation is a tough thing to do in a week. It kind of shows. The Free! rotos were also pretty rough and could have been cleaned up. Mostly importantly, I think this vidoe could have benefited from shorter segments, and more of them. What you have right now is funny, but they drag on a bit. Still, funny stuff. | The jokes were funny, but I wish you had more X3 Also, the text in the first joke was terrible, epsically the chemical X part. Solid editng and hilarious credits. Another thing that bugged was that he is on a computer and its acting like a tv (noise flipping transitions). I think it would be cool if you should a mouse clicking on the next video. | This was a really solid video. The editing and custom jokes (Powerpuff Gays, etc...) were well done but not too over the top. The biggest problem this video has is the fact that apparently only 2 TV shows existed in the 90s. You needed to make the segments shorter and add more of them. Comedy tends to be a very ADD-centric genre so knowing exactly when to end your joke and move on to the next bit is key to a good comedy video. My advice would be to shorten the tracks, maybe put a bit more custom work in there (give the Powerpuff Gays fitting outfits maybe?) and add more tracks. The syncing seemed to be a bit off throughout the video, and it would have made a big difference if the timing was corrected. The lyncsync needs more work and pacing to be better. | While not the most original concept ever it is tried and true! Very fitting :D I dug a lot of the little bits of internal sync such as at the beginning where Tamaki adjusts his leg oh so subtly, etc. Fun overall video and I can see a con audience going NUTS for this! As I was watching the video I felt like an incredibly large chunk of scenes were close ups of character faces. And while this is semi-correct, the primary reason it felt like this was something that I didn't catch on to until the 2nd viewing. For reasons unknown you cropped a show that is normally fullscreen 4:3 to widescreen 16:9. The loss of that extra space made it feel like I was watching the video with a magnifying glass held up to my screen. I know the Youtube like widescreen but if you can avoid hacking large chunks off of a source then it's best to do so. Beyond that lip sync was loose, roto transitions were really rough and the bit where the individual characters got to sing needed to have assigned roles as opposed to Haruhi being used for two separate voices in a span of less than 10 seconds. Very cute video and a big winner at cons. Just avoid unnecessary cropping/face shots and tighten things up here and there. | The concept was not quite original, and it had some issues with lipsynch. I found myself smiling quite a bit at the text, but I thought you could have pushed it a bit further with the whole "making fun of yourself" concept. Seemed like you kind of ran out of ideas and a little *too* much randomness 'omgwhatshappening' type stuff going on. The only thing that saved you there was that the sync was pretty tight and that's what held my attention. | I love how you stated what editing problems you run into. But sadly, overtime, it felt like you kinda got lazzy on this. I was expecting alot more editing jokes. I really think you should work on this more because I think it has great potential. | This video does a really great job of poking fun at itself. A lot of the time you see a video that is totally random and the only comments you see are "lol this is random" or "WTF is happening?" etc... but you did a good job going in depth and dissecting your own problems for a decent chunk of the video. Back everything up with some pretty slick sync and we've got something pretty good. Of course, just because you poke fun at your problems, it doesn't mean they aren't still problems. When you started poking fun at editing techniques/issues (lip flap, lip sync) I was hoping you'd go all out with more techniques and such. This is obviously a video that wouldn't exactly do well with a con audience. This is a video BY an AMV editor FOR AMV editors. Going all out and blowing up the crap that we have to deal with on every project could have been freakin' amazing. Sadly, it fell a little too much into the cliche area after the rugby scene with comments about how it could of worked but your were lazy, etc.. That's kind of how it felt. "Holy crap this could have worked but eh..." Few understand our struggles as AMV editors. The hell we go through just for a HOBBY that we don't even make money from. While watching this video, all I can think about is you sitting at your computer and going "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!" and that makes me laugh. You do a decent job at conveying that annoyance and struggle but as you said yourself, you got lazy. Then you let the cliche take hold of you and couldn't manage to wriggle free. An enjoyable video, no doubt about that, but you were running the race to awesome land and face planted about 50% of the way there. | Self depreciation is always a good way to get laughs, and this video did a pretty good job with it. | |||||||||||||

On the downside, the scrolling text was really hard to watch (my eyes ;_;), and the lipsync is loose most of the time, and I found it a little distracting. The rotos could also definitely be improved/cleaned up. The quality of the sources is also pretty inconsistant, and I think there are some wrong AR's in there. However, despite its technical issues, I thought this was pretty funny and enjoyable. | I don't know what to say about this. I love alot of it and hate alot of it. Alot of the lipsync was terrible but at the same time there was some lipsync that I loved. The text was terrible. Alot of the scenes match well and made me laugh. And then the custom art, classic. | This video really makes me smile. You did a great job having a scene available for almost every lyric. I also enjoyed the reoccurring jokes with elephantiasis Yui flying around. Custom jokes = win But no matter how much I personally enjoy this video it is far from being without issues. General rule of thumb is to keep it 480p if you plan on mixing old with new because when you stretch lower quality footage to that massive size you can see any and all imperfections. The text integration could really be helped at certain points. The scrolling black font on white background is a bit seizure-ific and actually caused discomfort while watching the video. Finally lip sync is rather loose but that can be fixed with time. While I personally enjoy this video and it makes me laugh the technical level needs major work. Comedy tends to be a category where this more forgivable but if you can work on it I honestly see you pulling off some really cool stuff. | This is like finding a classic car in a garage. The lipsync needs alot of work. Some of the still frames were obivious and stuck out. Also, lots of frameblending. Maybe due to you forcing the framerate to 29.97fps or just speeding up the clips on the timeline or having some sort of resampling on. Also, the source looks too sharpened on most clips. Then the clips that dont look sharp, just looks like they are lower quality clips. | This video makes me laugh. It really makes me laugh. But sadly, it's for all the wrong reasons. Due to the fact that Kyle's mom isn't really shown while Squid Girl/Cartman is singing about her (beyond a flash or two) it just makes it seem like the lyrics are being screamed at the audience. The lip sync is INCREDIBLY loose with the majority of it being accidental and not properly timed. This video honestly makes me laugh and I think it's really funny but technically it needs major work. Sadly this video sacrifices a lot of possible fantastic lyric sync scenes for lip sync. We get that the characters are singing the song back and forth to each other but without some over the top visuals to go with the over the top lyrics it loses a lot of impact. The lip sync is accidental for the most part. The facial expressions (particularly for the male lead) don't really match with the inflection presented by the lyrics. And while I appreciate the text being format with just a simple color change to imply role change, I think it could have been integrated a bit better. It takes up a rather large amount of the screen and on some scenes where the background is more detailed it becomes kind of difficult to see despite it's size. Was stoked to see a video actually made to this song and it honestly did make us laugh. Just didn't keep the laughs consistent due to lack of lyric sync. | COMMENT REDACTED | |||||||||||||

I'm happy this video had a couple segments to play off as opposed to just one or two. *glares at Kiet* Always, gotta give respect to videos that use multiple sources in these 1 week IC-style contest too. Scene searching is a biiitch. The biggest problem this video has is lack of framing. I get that he's supposed to be watching it on TV but there are none of the classic channel changing effects. And considering all but two (I'm assuming the jelly one isn't) are all programming you'd only see on a music video channel such as MTV or VH1 it doesn't really feel like "channel surfin" as much as it feels like flipping through radio disney, a parody station, and a soft rock station. Ambitious but without the proper framing device the concept becomes incredibly weak. | Well well well, a blipvert video! I didn't really find this very funny, but the action editing and internal sync was pretty cool. | Wasn't really funny to me. The lyrical sync was amusing, but there wasn't a whole lot that kept my attention besides the jokes here and there. The attempts at internal sync were kind of messy/inconsistant and it could be tightened up a lot...I think the video would have dragged less if this was improved. | This video made me laugh here and there. Definitly corrupted this song for me. You did not need the locations in the beginning. | I enjoyed a decent amount of the lyric sync. The bits with "butterflies" and colors in the sky made me snicker :3 I don't really understand the setup of this video. It feels like you were just trying to get the requirement out of the way and be done with it but I still don't really get the location importance. Concept is fun and different, which is refreshing, but the text bubbles could use some work - most of the time they fly by way too fast and makes it hard for the viewer to keep up with what is going on. I feel like I would have enjoyed this more if they were paced better. | At first I was expecting something else with this song, but you went with a different approach and I love that! The text/bubbles were hard to read. I had to pause the video to read them. The sync was off here and there, making the video feel slow. | It's a very different approach to the song. It took me a second or two to catch on to how you dissected the lyrics so they would apply to different characters and such. Those who are looking for the traditional approach (such as I was originally) might be thrown but it's fairly easy to catch on. So great job trying to be original :D Now on to the not-so-great D: To start off with, the song just kinda starts. It's a rough cut with no real lead in, the song is just there. More often than not the text bubbles take up around 25 - 50 percent of the screen. The font seems to change back and forth which can lead to difficulty reading even short phrases. When the eye is expecting one format and then it's totally different, slanted, and floating in a sea of white, it's a hard transition to adjust and read. A more subtle or better integrated approach to the text (maybe with a color change as opposed to font) could have worked really well. Finally, the sync was a bit lacking. This song is very punchy sounding with over emphasized phrases and lyrics. There are certain sections where you really tried to nail them but while watching it, I had the mental image of video elements playing tug-of-war with you. One side is yanking with all their might for story and the other side is trying their very best for sync. Sadly, neither side realizes that they can both have what they want if they just come together. This is a neat idea and a cool approach to a well known song. It's just very rough around the edges. With a bit of polish and work on the text it could turn into a solid video. | This is not a bad video. After watching it though I was actually kind of sad. The video picks up and gets interesting/funny when the first verse begins, but it seems like it takes awhile to get there. The lyric sync is comical, but but the lip sync could have been a lot better (maybe try using scenes where the characters are moving and not static to make it look more natural). If you had cut out some of the instrumental bits, I think it would have kept the video moving along better. | The intro did get me excited to see the outcoming jokes, but then the intro felt too long. When lyrics kicked in and made laugh some. Your lipsync felt sloppy and random. | The concept works and fits. The text is well hidden and subtle. The biggest problem this video has is a lack of custom jokes or gags. The entire joke is pussy = cute cat girl and lip sync. The lip sync is incredibly loose and seems to be "accidental" for the majority of the video. Nyan Koi! felt like it was in there for filler. If the source was used a bit more beyond the intro you could have got some good gags and slapstick in there. A bit more balance and expansion to other sources could have helped give the video a bit more padding beyond cat girls screaming lyrics at each other. It feels like you spent a ton of making your video as homo-erotic as possible but forgot to work on the basic elements of the AMV. | I laughed. I'm 14. There are so many over the top scenes that would have worked so well that watching this video is actually a little bit frustrating for the viewer. It could have been AMAZING but instead it's just alright. The sync is lacking major impact. And finally, WHY did you cut out the line from the movie? Then again, the setup isn't isn't very funny either with the exception of the phrase "Shut your whining bitch" which makes me laugh every time. This is a pretty poor comedy video but it's got some moments of sexy sync that I can't help but love. If you would've spent some more time on this and maybe made something a bit longer I can see this being a fantastic video. The whole looped audio bit could have actually turned into a joke if you had repeated it until it just got absurd with the fails escalating and the drink breaks turning into black out wasted characters. The fails needed to be a bit more fail-ish for the most part. The Angel Beats and Air fails are probably the best since they're so over the top. Misuzu eats it pretty damn often and Angel Beats is very well known for beating the shit out of it's main characters in between the serious story line and plot. The "teehee, I fell down~ <3" falls don't really feel like fails. Fail Counter is a good idea but could've been better implemented as opposed to hanging out beneath the video and causing a massive black border . This idea could work so well.
