Registered apprentices (RA's) earn one of four Maine Credentials: Infant Toddler, Preschool, Youth Development or Family Child Care. Free training is provided by MRTQ PDN. Sponsoring Employers (centers or family child care programs) must register with the Department of Labor, provide incremental wage increases and contract with UMS for wage supplements. All RA's meet weekly with trained mentors, who receive mentor stipends for their work.
