NovemberSexual Harrassment for Students-K-2 & 3-5th grade11/3/2023Students learned about consent, body boundaries, and word boundaries in an age appropriate manner. They also learned the importance of telling a trusted adult when someone crosses those boundaries.

NovemberSMART Week11/13-11/17/2023The SEL team created a list of activities for each day of the week (from 11/13-11-17) for teachers to use with their students to raise awareness of homelessness and to help build empathy and understanding for students in temporary housing. Some activities included videos, coloring activities, wearing purple (purple is the color of homelessness awareness), and writing about things they learned and are grateful for.

NovemberUnderstanding Homelessness Parent Workshop11/16/2023In this parent workshop, we defined homelessness and the risk factors that contribute to homelessness. We defined the McKinney Vento Act and how it helps support students in temporary housing. We also watched a short video on the impact of homelessness on families with the hope of instilling empathy in others.
