5	October	Fierce Feet Fiesta (Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration)	10/2/2023			Brining families together for a fun night of fitness

7	October	K-1-"My School Rules" Assembly	10/12/2023			Students learned why we have rules and how rules help keep us safe. We talked about ways to make PS201 a safe and caring community for all.
8	October	Walk For Life	10/13/2023			Bringing awareness to those who are or been through breast cancer and raising money to donate to the American Cancer Society
9	October	Child Abuse Prevention Workshop for Staff	10/16/12023			Staff learn what the policies and procedures for reporting abuse and/or neglect
10	October	Respect for All Assembly-All Grades	10/20/2023			Students learned about bullying and cyberbullying and the difference between bullying and conflict. Students learned about how to report bullying to a trusted adult.
11	October	MindUp for Life-Parent Edition	10/23/2023		Parents	Introducing families to the new SEL curriculum and how to carry over at home
12	October	Respect For All/Crisis De-escalation/Suicide Prevention for staff	10/23/2023			Discussed CR A-831, A-832, CR-A755 and CR-A411 which included the topics on Respect for All, Suicide Prevention, and Crisis de-escalation
13	October	Child Safety Assembly	10/24/2023			Students learned about safe commuting to and from school, personal safety, including safety rules when home alone, when to call 911, safe body, and examples of trusted adults.

15	October	Wear Blue to Stomp out Bullying	10/25/2023			Bring awareness to the effects of bullying and create an atmosphere of kindness throughout the school
16	October	Child Abuse Prevention Workshop for Families	10/26/2023			Discussed signs of child abuse and maltreatment, reporting procedures, and safe alternatives to corporal punishment.

21	November	Sexual Harrassment for Students-K-2 & 3-5th grade	11/3/2023			Students learned about consent, body boundaries, and word boundaries in an age appropriate manner. They also learned the importance of telling a trusted adult when someone crosses those boundaries.
22	November	SMART Week	11/13-11/17/2023			The SEL team created a list of activities for each day of the week (from 11/13-11-17) for teachers to use with their students to raise awareness of homelessness and to help build empathy and understanding for students in temporary housing. Some activities included videos, coloring activities, wearing purple (purple is the color of homelessness awareness), and writing about things they learned and are grateful for.
23	November	Understanding Homelessness Parent Workshop	11/16/2023			In this parent workshop, we defined homelessness and the risk factors that contribute to homelessness. We defined the McKinney Vento Act and how it helps support students in temporary housing. We also watched a short video on the impact of homelessness on families with the hope of instilling empathy in others.

Students learned about the expectations for each area of the building (e.g., Cafeteria, Recess, Hallway, Bathroom, Classroom)
