7	* Use a personal email (not your high school email account) for scholarships and college applications, and check it regularly for communications.
8	* Enter your name the same for FAFSA/WASFA, college applications, scholarship applications, SAT, ACT, ASVAB!
9	* Fill in the FAFSA (opens October 1) at https://studentaid.gov/ (discover types of financial aid; See "APPLY FOR AID" then "Complete the FAFSA")
10	--complete the FAFSA as soon as possible between October 1 and June 30. Need help? Go to https://www.getfafsahelp.org/cb
11	--some scholarship applications require that the FAFSA be completed before the scholarship deadline
12	* Undocumented students submit the WASFA at www.readysetgrad.org/wasfa
13	* Investigate scholarships that relate to a career, bank or credit union, or a personal or family employer.
14	* Still others include local, regional, and national non-profit organizations such as Rotary Club, Lions Club and churches.
15	* When you select the college you will attend, explore its financial aid link to see scholarships open to only their students.

17	What is a Scholarship?
18	Scholarships are monetary awards given to students by an organization or donor to help pay for the student’s education. Applicants must meet the organization’s criteria, such as pursuing a certain program of study, having financial need or being an exemplary student. Watch out for scams! It might be a scam if it guarantees you will win, there is a fee, they fail to provide clear contact information, or they request your personal account information or tax forms.
