BeehiivEmailSend our email newslettershttps://www.brooksconkle.com/beehiivIn 2023, I found it and switched from Convertkit (I like Convertkit, but they angered me by how they operate their annual billing).
I have used Beehiiv for a year and LOVE it.
They ship updates really fast and I think they are going to be a really large company.
4
ConvertkitEmail(Formerly used for newsletters)https://www.brooksconkle.com/convertkitWe used them for about 3 years.
While they made me pretty mad about how they operate their billing (video here), they're still a pretty incredible company.
Their workflows and ability to track the selling of products is amazing.

WiseMoneyMoney Payments and Transfers
https://www.brooksconkle.com/transferwise
I found this company in 2022, and I pay my entire international team with these online transfers.
Every time I have shown it to new international contractors, they get set up because the fees are lower than Paypal or others.
If you'd like to learn more how it works, we have this article.
Or this video shows my feedback after sending more than $20k via Wise.
6
CoinbaseMoneyPlatform I use to buy cryptohttps://www.coinbase.com/It's the main account that I've used to access cryptocurrency.
Currently, it's the only publicly traded U.S. crypto exchange.

SquareMoneyWe use for invoicing and collecting paymentshttps://www.brooksconkle.com/squareWe used to use this with the card reader device (when my wife ran a fashion truck!)

(It's also a great way for me to get involved with my son by watching stocks).
10
MoneyLionMoneyFinance Apphttps://mlion.us/$BrooksConkleI wasn't using this personally, but I was invited as an influencer to their program, so I was able to see the app from both sides.
It's a nice app for you to learn personal finance strategies, etc.
11
Rakuten / EbatesMoneyMoney Back App where we make easy $https://www.brooksconkle.com/ebatesWe've used for years and make free money by using the chrome extesion.
You activate it, buy your stuff, and then they pay you a % back (they have affiliate relationships with stores).
It's easy peasy -- here's more info if you need it.
12
WaveMoneyOur Accounting & Bookkeeping Softwarehttps://www.waveapps.com/
We previously used Quickbooks (nothing wrong with it, it's the 500 lb. gorilla).
But... we run mutliple small LLCs, and I was going to have to pay a subscription fee for EACH company.
With Wave, it's free for all of my companies --- they just charge for any add-on features you might need -- bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll services, etc.
13
WealthfrontMoneyMy Online Savings Account (Highest % Rate)https://www.brooksconkle.com/wealthfront
I found this online savings back and signed up. Their rates are almost that of CD's (but it's just a simple savings so you can transfer $ in and out).
They also have $5M in FDIC insurance.
I wrote an article about Wealthfront and savings accounts here.
For some bonus reading, you may also like my personal finance rules.

We use for specific tasks (like designing a book cover, or creating a song, or designing a pdf, etc.)
Here's my process for hiring freelancers and VAs
(we also use Freelancer for more developer type roles)
15
WhatsAppSoftware/OtherOur Team's Main Communication Toolhttps://www.whatsapp.com/We previously used slack for business communication, but it was actually overkill for my small team (less than 10).
Whatsapp has been great -- I use the app and the desktop version depending on where I am.
You can add voice memos, set up different chats, and the messages are encrypted.
16
PodiaSoftware/OtherHow We Sell Online Courseshttps://www.brooksconkle.com/podiaWe use this tool to run DTBU (Destroy the Box University).
You can use it to create a course, build an online community, etc.

BuzzSproutSoftware/OtherOur Podcast Hosthttps://www.brooksconkle.com/buzzsprout

WPXSoftware/OtherMy Web Host (Advanced)https://www.brooksconkle.com/wpx
I moved all major sites over to this WordPress web host in 2022. I love them because of the service. They answer their chat in less than 60 seconds.
It's like having a developer on your team. Plus, the hosting speed and reliability is great. We use for our email service also.
In this article, I talk about us moving from Bluehost to WPX and why we did it.
20
ShopifySoftware/OtherE-commerce Shop
E-commerce basically runs the e-commerce internet (behind Amazon). There are thousands of online stores run by independent entrepreneurs doing $hundreds/mo to $millions/mo --- We just it to run our simple store here.
21
PrintfulSoftware/OtherPrint on Demand Companyhttps://www.brooksconkle.com/printful
Want to start a print on demand shop? This is a great option (we use it for BePositiveWithUs that runs on Shopify).
Their software can tie to Shopify or Etsy.
Basically when an order comes in, YOU don't have to have t-shirts (or hundreds of other printed items). Instea, Printful will print it right there (on demand) and ship it to the customer on your behalf.
They're basically you're business partner!
22
TrelloSoftware/OtherMy everything app - project management, to do's, etc.https://trello.com/I use for brainstorming, projects, to do's, video production, movies to watch, books to read, course outlines, etc. etc. etc.

25
DescriptVideoOur Video Editing Softwarehttps://www.brooksconkle.com/descript
Testing this out in 2023. It's been great so far. What makes it different/unique is that it takes your video and transcribes it.
So instead of you editing from a video clip, you edit based on the text -- so can cut lines, remove vocal fillers, etc.
They keep adding features (just recently is one that makes it look like your are staring at the camera and not your notes -- creepy but cool).
26
StreamyardVideoOur Video Recording / Streaminghttps://www.brooksconkle.com/streamyard
This tool can literally be your entire production studio for creating videos (or livestreams) --- intros, outros, music, images, graphics, etc.
You can do all of this while recording.
You can livestream with the tool, but often, we use it to record offline and just use some of those features so that we don't have to do them in post-production.
27

You're able to see the video side by side and provide timestamped comments.
28
ScreenPalVideoVideo Editinghttps://www.brooksconkle.com/screencast
(formerly Screencast-o-matic --- rebranded in 2023)
This tool is very affordable (they have a free option) and I still use it for...
Taking screenshots and editing them, recordinng videos to be used for training, and also recording and editing simple screenshare videos.
I use it in addition to Descript.

30
GrammarlyWebsitesSoftware That Helps My Writinghttps://www.brooksconkle.com/grammarlyThe free version is nice (so get it). We've used the paid version for a few years now -- affordable and totally worth it.
My entire team uses it. Personally, I'll toss in emails, blog posts, tweets, etc. into its editor to quickly make adjustments before posting.
It makes great suggestions on tone, style, and you can check for things like plagiarism.
31
UbbersuggestWebsitesSEO Tool (keyword research)https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/There are lots of great tools out there (currently, the best is ahrefs, but it's expensive).
I bought a lifetime license to Ubersuggest for like $300 a few years ago, so its paid for itself.
Another tool I've used that's good for bloggers is RankIQ --- my team wrote a review here.
It's a great tool, but you can also use things like Google's keyword planner, google trends, and plain 'ole logic for your research!
32
TailwindWebsitesPinterest Toolhttps://www.brooksconkle.com/tailwindWe currently use Tailwind to schedule our content on Pinterest.
33

It helps you make sure none of your content gets no links (orphaned).
35
BluehostWebsitesWeb Host (Beginner)https://www.brooksconkle.com/bluehostThis is a cheap webhost and where I started. I still have a few websites hosted there.
But... you get what you pay for. Service is ok, speed is ok, but nothing to 'wow' you.
36
GeneratePressWebsitesOur Favorite Wordpress Theme
https://www.brooksconkle.com/generatepress
We switched ALL of our websites to this Wordpress theme in 2022 after lots of research --- it's fast and has great support.
It's perfect for modern age websites as speed and user experience become more and more imporant.
We previously used the Divi Theme (it's incredibly easy because of its builder, but it was slow and I didn't feel they were changing with the times fast enough.
37
DiviWebsitesOur Previous Favorite Wordpress Theme
https://www.brooksconkle.com/elegantthemes
We used this for about 5 years. I still have a website or 2 using it. The page builder makes editing websites simple and easy.
You can pretty much design anything. But.... Speed is more important than ever.
So I switched our biggest sites over to GeneratePress (and loving it).
38
TrackMySubsSoftware/OtherTracking My Subscriptionshttps://trackmysubs.com/
I was using my google calendar to track when softwares were expiring. I thought about building out some sort of solution and then I found this.

out a specifc reply to that person? This can do it.
41
SpaceshipWebsitesDomain Name Registrar (owned by Namecheap)https://www.brooksconkle.com/spaceshipI used to use Porkbun (before that GoDaddy) to register domain names. But Spaceship is a new kid on the block that I'm loving.
They also have the best prices (which helps since I'm getting into domain name investing).
