They must come in and pick up an application which there is a list of all the documents I will need in order to help them. When they complete the application and obtain all the documents needed, they call and we sit up an appointment.

The things I help with are as follows:

Disconnect notice for electric of which I can only pay the 30 day past due amount.

Disconnect notice for NIPSCO.

Disconnect notice for Water but only the 30 day past due amount.

They must apply for SNAP program. If they have applied for Food Stamps and are waiting I can help them with a food voucher.

I can help with partial rent payment or mortgage payments only if the landlord or mortgage company will agree not to start an eviction notice for 30 days.

I have 72 hours to verify all documents and information they have given me before I have to make a decision. If they complete application and I have all documents needed I can usually make a decision the day of our appointment and make pledges at that time.
