1. What is this?Links
9
Welcome to the Streaham wards volunteer group hub. These cover 4 wards in Streatham. You can work out if you are in those wards by looking on this map >>>>Here
10
2. What's this and the groups for ?
11
The groups are self-run mutual aid groups designed to support those who are in need due to the Covid-19 crisis. We're aiming to focus on those who are self-isolating or will most be vulnerable in the event of a full lockdown. This is all volunteer run and with non-hierarchical leadership. We are all in this together.

We're not a professional service, medically trained or a council body ....but we can offer help and assistance. Beyond that, we'll work to refer people to existing services (engaging with local groups and the council).

This document contains a list of roads which are trying to assign "owners" to so they can make cotnact with residents (see below)
12
3. Hang on, I don't think I actually live in one of these wards
13
No worries, please see this list for other groups that may be more local in lambeth. And if you're even further afield, please go to https://covidmutualaid.org/Here
16
4. How do I adopt a street?
17
Simple. Please go to the Tab called "Road by ward and who is doing". Find your nearest street or a street that you think you could support. Add your name and then connect with anyonre else here who will help neighbouts with you (just send a message in your WhatsApp group to find them). We really encourage people to adopt streets where there local authority housing estates on or nearby as there is likely to be highest need in the most economically deprived areas. Here
18
5. There's loads of other people on the street already ?
19
Please do add yourself.

1. This is important for the longer roads which may have hundreds of dwellings.

2. We also need lots of people per road to build resilience in the event of individuals being sick and away i.e. ideally, we don't want one person doing 10 roads. If there are already people on the road, ping them a WA message and say hi and offer to help/work togeher
28
6. So what next?
29
Until 23/03 we;ve been doing door to door flyering to let neighbours know that there is someone to rely on. Across the 4 wards, we've covered thousands of doors. Now that we are in semi-lockdown, we have paused on this to observe the government advice.. There are still lots of things that you can do:

1. Make sure you have connected with your street neighbours from the WhatsApp group. They may already be receiving enquiries for help and will want support. Simply shouting out in the ward WhatsApp group and seeing if there is someone who wants to form a WA group for your street is well worth it!
2. Look out for requests on your ward WhatsApp group.. We expect to get more of these as the days go on and people reach out using digital media.
3.Read the tab "Other groups and initiatives you can support" and sign up to the Lambeth Council initiative. You may also want to make donations to the local foodbank (also on that tab)
30
7. How do I tell a friend about this ?
31
Just go to the group info section in whatsapp and press "invite to group by link". You can then share the WhatsApp group link to them directly.
