I'll also be attending a student produced fashion show that's beta testing their professor's open textbook with a photographer to collect pictures to add to our potential outreach. NoNeverI'm not sure where or how to do this yet. It clearly needs to be done on this campus- we're big enough that not all instructors know what others in their subject areas are doing or have done. I'm also intentionally trying to get our online courses switched over because our Global Campus has a policy that all online courses have to use the same materials (so if I can get them to use an OER, then everyone has to use an OER!)No

In one case, time! Updating this resource requires time-consuming research to gather all the details. I try to find time here and there to do it, but not as much as I would like. In another case, I manage a project that involves subject matter experts. Time and funding are both major challenges. We just finished a significant chunk of the work because a funding opportunity presented itself, but it was on a very tight timeline, which made it quite stressful for all involved because we all had other commitments. We now have students who would have time to contribute to the project and have been trained already, but we do not have funding.

This event also incorporates a crowd-voted award for the most impactful and/or creative project presented via lightning talk, but also features discussions, presentations, and panels that aren't part of the award. In addition to the professional development event described above, we also manage an incentivized program for open pedagogy, with the goal of the open pedagogy assignment eventually producing an OER co-authored between faculty and students. We host our own repository for OER created through Pressbooks at our institution. We used to have a program to incentivize OER authorship directly, but that program was paused when several key people left - it seems to be in the early stages of restarting, hopefully soon.NoYearlyOften our best option is to get the OER up in a repository (like Merlot), then get it linked into our institutional catalog...but there's so much there already (both in the repositories and in our own catalog) that nothing holds the spotlight long.
